"How is that patient?" Liu Banxia asked Qi Wentai.

"Not too bad, the burns aren't too severe, just inhaled a bit more smoke. Guess how the fire started, you'll never guess." Qi Wentai said.

"How did it start? Forgot to turn off the gas?" Liu Banxia asked.

"The car caught fire by itself." Qi Wentai said.

"I heard from the traffic police who ca along, the man was at the driver's seat, and it took him so effort to open the car door and get out when the car caught fire."

"The female patient was in the passenger seat, probably panicked, and the more anxious she got, the harder it was to open the door, so she got delayed a bit. Just that little delay made her get burned like this."

"Thinking about it now, I don't know what can be done to stay safe. Just driving normally, and the car catches fire. This is an ungrounded disaster, if there's no self-ignition insurance, wouldn't there be no compensation?"

"Who knows, anyway, there are many cases of cars catching fire by themselves. Most happen in hot weather, and the sun is still quite strong now." Liu Banxia said.

"The late autumn climate is really quite headache-inducing. Yesterday when we went to the scene, the road was scorching hot, and we drank quite a bit of water. But in the shade, it was still a bit chilly."

He also felt very empathetic about the couple's ordeal. But sympathy doesn't help much, whoever encounters such an accident won't feel good about it.

Thankfully, their lives are saved, which is the best outco for now.

For Liu Banxia now, he is indeed a bit idle. Previously, he was busy because, as the inpatient director, all incoming patients required his evaluation.

Now, with Qi Wentai as the inpatient director, it's done once it's assigned. This cut off a large number of patients, directly handled by the "six little ones" team.

Even those that are a bit complex, Qi Wentai and his team manage them.

This is basically a side effect of being promoted to deputy director, where almost all patients needing surgical intervention are his cases.

And they have to be relatively complex surgeries, if it's sothing like an appendix, gallbladder, or inguinal hernia, they wouldn't generally think of him.

"Teacher Liu, can you co over here for a mont?"

At this mont, Liu Yiqing waved to him.

"What's up? Encountered a tough problem?" Liu Banxia asked.

"It's a patient I received in the morning, a 17-year-old girl. She has symptoms of dizziness and nausea, ca with her mom for a check-up, and after a blood test, the HCG levels were significantly elevated." Liu Yiqing said.

Liu Banxia looked at her helplessly, "She's pregnant, right? Just explain it to them straightforwardly. If it's early in gestation, a dical abortion should still be possible."

"What's wrong? Embarrassed to tell them? We're doctors, we have to convey the situation truthfully to the patients. Unless it's so malignant disease, where we need to consider the patient's emotions."

"Oh, Teacher Liu, I don't think it's that simple." Liu Yiqing was a bit anxious.

"Kids these days aren't stupid, if she had sexual activity, she would have co secretly for a check-up, right? Plus there's the pregnancy test stick, how could she co with her mom?"

"That can happen too, not all kids know the whole process. Maybe she thought she wasn't pregnant, it's quite normal actually." Liu Banxia said.

Liu Yiqing wrinkled her nose, "What should we do? She's just started her senior year, and they said she's got good grades, can she really ss things up so early?"

"Silly, can't you find a way to talk to her alone? Get the situation clear, and then talk. Hmm... to be safe, run a urine test as well. Check the urine HCG levels, just as a precaution."

"Alright, I just feel this kid is very good, doesn't seem like soone who'd fool around outside." Liu Yiqing nodded.

Anyway, she thinks if this girl is really pregnant, her mom would probably go crazy. During the consultation, her mom kept praising her good grades, aiming for a 211 university for the college entrance exam.

Liu Banxia didn't have that much thought, as the social culture now is very open. He's seen all sorts of situations in the hospital, and age 17 is definitely not the youngest age at which he's seen soone pregnant.

"Why are you so happy?" Seeing Wang Chao approaching with a beaming smile, Liu Banxia asked curiously.

"Haha, let be happy a bit longer. That patient with the gut alcohol ferntation syndro seems to be truly cured." Wang Chao said with delight.

"Today's test results are fantastic, recent monitoring shows no recurrence, and the brain fog symptoms have cleared. Hmm... this ans he can return to normal life."

"But shouldn't he still be careful with his diet? What if he eats sothing that triggers it again? Is there any indicator that can clearly show he can resu normal eating?"

Liu Banxia looked at him helplessly, "Just be as cautious as possible, although it's tough, what's more important than life? This can be considered a major success in the stool transplant project, should we compile a report for the hospital?"

"Well, I just feel the situation is still a bit vague, without specific quantitative indicators." Wang Chao said, a bit embarrassed.

Liu Banxia smiled, "Why feel guilty? It's a normal stool transplant treatnt, with satisfactory results. Don't worry whether it's a unique case, a successful case is what matters."

"Moreover, we have several successful experiences with other diseases, at least proving that we're on the right track. Maybe we haven't studied it thoroughly yet, but fecal transplant can indeed relieve patients from the distress of symptoms."

"So just keep up the good work, take advantage of this year to brainstorm with Brother Hui and Brother Huan on how to enhance the efficacy and success rate of our fecal transplants."

"Why do I feel like you're gloating? Sigh... it would be great if we could achieve 100% success. There are many cases of failure and recurrence, which is quite worrying," Wang Chao sighed.

"That's dicine for you; what can we do? All we can do is help patients as much as we can. If we're unable to help, there's nothing more we can do, but we always have to try," Liu Banxia said.

"Moreover, from the current transplant data, the probability of side effects is very low. Even in patients with recurring symptoms, it can't be imdiately attributed to fecal transplants worsening the disease, can it?"

Wang Chao nodded, "This precisely requires us to strictly control the donors. We not only conduct standard tests but also perform secondary random tests."

"That's the spirit, keep it up," Liu Banxia said.

Wang Chao felt a bit dejected. It should have been a happy matter, but for so reason, after Liu Banxia's encouragent, he felt unhappy.

It seed as if he was working for this guy, like there was no justice in the world.

Liu Banxia didn't think much of it, as often it goes this way.

Many therapies are experintal; as long as the side effects are minor and it provides real help to patients, it's considered a good therapy.

Isn't it the sa with many dications? They can cure the illness but also harm the body; however, when weighed, saving lives takes precedence.

Liu Banxia glanced around, realizing there's nothing left for him to do, so he might as well go back to reading.

It's sotis vexing, having no patients at all, or having them all co at once. Previously, many surgeries could be an opportunity for NOSES procedures, but what about now? No one cos by at all.

It's not that there's no work to do; as the assistant director, there are still many docunts to be approved. Although the younger colleagues send them over, he still needs to review them before signing off.

A whole morning felt slightly wasted. He spent most of his ti either reviewing docunts or reading, apart from that burn patient; he didn't attend to another one.

Even the burn victim was mainly handled by Xu Qixin; he was just an onlooker.

"Will any of you have lunch or should I go first?" Liu Banxia asked as he stepped out of the office.

"You go eat first; we can take a later break and rest a bit longer," Qi Wentai said.

"Alright then, I'll go and scout for you guys," Liu Banxia nodded.

"President Qi, there's a heatstroke patient being brought in, suspected of being a heatstroke case," at that mont, a dispatch nurse called out.

Liu Banxia turned back imdiately.

He'd been waiting the whole morning; now that sothing has co up, he must see it through.

"Not going to eat?" Qi Wentai asked amusingly.

"No rush, who's handling the case?" Liu Banxia inquired.

Qi Wentai looked around, "Huang Bo, you take on the case."

"Alright."

Huang Bo acknowledged and imdiately prepared to attend the case.

For them, this was routine procedure. However, if it's confird as heatstroke, the rescue procedures are more complex, not as simple as regular heatstroke.

After a while, the patient was brought in.

"Male, 26 years old, no sweat, high body temperature, confused consciousness after getting in the car, cooling asures were applied en route. Blood pressure is 70/110, heart rate is 120," reported the paradic pushing the patient.

"All typical symptoms are present, to rescue room two. Transfer the patient, open an intravenous line, cool down indoors, ice saline cooling," Huang Bo said.

"One, two, three, transfer the bed. Connect ECG, blood tests, blood biochemistry, liver and kidney function tests. The fever is severe; the skin is very hot, get so ice packs,"

Liu Banxia, watching all of this, frowned. It wasn't that Huang Bo's rescue procedures were faulty, but rather he felt the patient's condition was quite serious.

The last patient he received had very high blood pressure, but this one had low blood pressure.

"Oh my, the patient is hemorrhaging. Eyes, nose, and mouth, all bleeding,"

While Liu Banxia was still contemplating, a nurse nearby exclaid.

Liu Banxia quickly looked over and indeed saw blood oozing from the patient's mouth, nose, and eyes.
