"I must say, this ham is really quite tasty."
After sending off the guests, Liu Banxia remarked.
"Haha, if you like it, we can soak the remaining piece tomorrow. But I can’t eat too much, I’m afraid I’ll get heaty," Qiaoqiao said with a laugh.
"Let’s forget about it, I’m also afraid of getting heaty. We’ve been having good food and drinks lately, we should pay attention to our digestion," Liu Banxia shook his head.
"By the way, why does Xiao Rou seem a bit timid?" Qiaoqiao asked.
"It’s normal, after going through so much. In two to three months, when she ets more people, she’ll return to normal," Liu Banxia replied casually.
"Let see your wound, you’ve been eating and drinking, is it okay?" Qiaoqiao asked.
"It’s fine, just a superficial scratch. It’s nothing, I still have to make up my howork today. After massaging your legs, I’ll sleep," Liu Banxia said.
"Oh, there’s no need today, it’s almost eleven o’clock. Go to bed early, you have work tomorrow," Qiaoqiao said.
Liu Banxia didn’t care about anything else; even if he wanted to sleep, he wouldn’t miss massaging his wife’s legs.
Qiaoqiao was delighted, enjoying Liu Banxia’s service. With Liu Banxia leaving early and returning late every day, their ti together was too short.
Luckily, Yanzi and Qing Kewa kept her company, along with the dogs to amuse her, or it would have been tough.
It’s been a long ti since she visited Jinbao and Langtaosha shops, not thinking about business at all.
After massaging Qiaoqiao’s legs, Liu Banxia finally wrapped up his day’s work and started to rest.
Today was indeed tiring, having had so drinks in the evening. Even though he can handle drinks well, the alcohol had so effect. As people who love drinking often say, it helps you relax.
Sleeping soundly, he was awakened by the doorbell ringing at ho.
Being trained as a warrior in the hospital, Liu Banxia woke up quickly.
"What ti is it? Who is it?" Qiaoqiao asked groggily.
"You stay lying down, I’ll go and check," Liu Banxia said, heading downstairs.
"Hello, who is it?" At the video intercom, seeing a few people outside, Liu Banxia felt a jolt of concern.
"Dr. Liu, sorry to disturb you, a resident in building twenty has severe abdominal pain. Can you please take a look? I’m security guard Xiao Feng," ca the voice from the intercom.
"Okay, I’ll co with you now," Liu Banxia felt relieved.
He montarily thought he was a target of so vendetta.
Maybe it was because of being groggy from sleep; if it were really a vendetta, they wouldn’t be so bold.
After informing Qiaoqiao, Liu Banxia grabbed his ergency kit and rushed out.
"Dr. Liu, sorry for the trouble. Our Xiaoyu suddenly has severe stomach pain, rolling in pain," a middle-aged man outside said.
"It’s okay, this is my job. Let’s go quickly and not delay," Liu Banxia said.
"Did he eat anything unusual tonight? Any diarrhea? Have there been previous abdominal pain symptoms? Anything you rember, let know."
"Today is Xiaoyu’s birthday, he ate his favorite dishes and a birthday cake," the man said.
"No problem, it might just be sothing that didn’t settle well," Liu Banxia comforted.
Arriving at building twenty, Liu Banxia went directly to Xiaoyu’s room.
At eight or nine years old, he was indeed in severe pain, sweating profusely.
"Show where it hurts," Liu Banxia asked.
"Stomach pain, hurts terribly," Xiaoyu said.
"Is it where your hand is now?" Liu Banxia looked at Xiaoyu pressing his right lower abdon and asked.
Xiaoyu nodded.
"Co, let uncle check, try to endure, lie flat," Liu Banxia started examining.
"Hurts, right there, hurts terribly," Xiaoyu couldn’t stay still as Liu Banxia pressed.
"We need to go to the hospital. Preliminary judgnt suggests acute appendicitis, but an ultrasound is needed for a clearer view," Liu Banxia said.
"It’s not too serious now, the abdon is soft, should be in the inflammation phase, not perforated. Let’s not delay, send him to the hospital."
"Dr. Liu, can you perform the surgery for Xiaoyu?" Xiaoyu’s father asked.
"Uh... not today, I’ve had alcohol. Let’s go to our hospital, do a small incision, no scar for the child. I can’t be the lead, but I can supervise," Liu Banxia said.
"Okay, okay, thank you, Dr. Liu." Xiaoyu’s father said gratefully.
"I’ll first contact the hospital to have them prepare a room and then get Xiaoyu’s registration done in advance. We’ll use the bedside equipnt for examination, so we don’t have to run around." Liu Banxia said, pulling out his phone to call Xu Yino.
"Teacher Liu, why are you checking on us in the middle of the night?" Xu Yino asked drowsily as she answered the phone.
"There’s a child, about nine years old, possibly with acute appendicitis. I’m bringing him from ho right now. I’ll send you his ID number in a while. Please help register and perform the surgery." Liu Banxia said.
"Got it, I’ll start preparing now." Xu Yino’s tone suddenly beca much more alert.
Not sure what this hoowner does, but families living here generally aren’t ordinary. Two cars, a Land Rover and a Cayenne, rushed through the road with hazard lights on all the way.
Liu Banxia didn’t insist on slowing down either, because they were too far from the ergency center of Hospital No. 2.
"Teacher Liu, everything’s ready. Let’s do an ultrasound check directly." Upon arriving at the ergency center, Xu Yino was already waiting there.
"Alright, put him on the examination bed first, let’s do an ultrasound." Liu Banxia nodded.
"Dr. Liu, we’re counting on you for Xiaoyu." After positioning Xiaoyu, the child’s father said.
"Don’t worry. We have Doctor Xu operating because her fingers are slender, allowing for a smaller incision." Liu Banxia nodded.
"Teacher Liu, the ultrasound showed severe appendix swelling. Should we prepare to go to the operating room now?" asked Xu Yino.
Liu Banxia nodded, "Start preparing. Who’s handling anesthesia?"
"It’s Teacher Li." Xu Yino replied.
"Got it." Liu Banxia nodded again.
The real purpose of asking was to reassure Xiaoyu’s parents.
They want the best dical care for their child; otherwise, they wouldn’t co looking in the middle of the night. He had so reputation at Linyu Villa after all.
They didn’t know who the anesthesiologist was, but with his assurance, they felt at ease.
While preparing for surgery, Liu Banxia briefly explained the surgical process and potential issues to them.
Considering it’s a child, the anesthesia needs to be general; otherwise, the little one might get scared.
After explaining everything, he went to the changing room and took the opportunity to report to Qiaoqiao. There was no way he could go back today; going back and forth would be more troubleso than sleeping there directly.
He only realized after making the call that he’d rushed over in his bathrobe, which explained why the nurses had been looking at him oddly.
"Teacher Liu, why aren’t you performing the surgery?" Xu Yino asked while scrubbing in.
"I drank tonight, I’ll just go in with you for a quick look." Liu Banxia said.
Xu Yino sniffed the air a bit, "I don’t sll any alcohol, but dealing with such a young child makes a bit uneasy."
"It’s a rule we must follow. Besides, whether it’s an adult or a child, their bodies are the sa, so why feel uneasy?" Liu Banxia gave her a stern look.
Xu Yino didn’t mind, having gotten used to it.
"Cui Jia, pay close attention to Xu Yino today. Since you’ve co for regular training, we bear so responsibility for you. Let’s aim for a transformation in three years." Liu Banxia looked at Cui Jia.
"Teacher Liu, will there be opportunities to stay at the hospital?" Cui Jia asked.
"That depends on your skills and luck. Three years is a long ti; I can’t predict that far. But if you’re skilled enough, even if you can’t stay here, I assure you no hospital can fault you technically." Liu Banxia said.
"Just keep working hard. Your skills are your own; whatever you learn is a gain. There aren’t many interns and regular trainees right now, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to practice."
Cui Jia nodded, looking more energized.
"Teacher Liu, have you taken on all the patients in your area?" Xu Yino asked curiously.
"Almost. Now when sothing isn’t right, the first person everyone thinks of is ." Liu Banxia said with a bitter smile.
"But the more it’s like this, the more cautious you need to be. You mustn’t diagnose recklessly. It’s always necessary to check nearby first."
"Ninety-nine tis without issue, but the hundredth ti could cause a problem. Helping neighbors in the community is fine, but misdiagnosing isn’t pleasant, and worse, you might land in a lawsuit."
"This is sothing I’ve always emphasized to you. Any diagnosis we give must be well-founded and thorough, never careless."
Xu Yino and Cui Jia nodded, finishing scrubbing in and entering the operating room.
Truthfully, Liu Banxia would’ve liked to stay ho and sleep, too, but Xiaoyu’s father insisted on him, given they lived in the sa complex. It couldn’t be helped.
Whether you like it or not, you have to go this round to maintain community "harmony and stability."
It’s quite normal, and it’s no reason to be upset. Situations like these show they value you and believe in your expertise.
It’s about accumulating connections and reputation; even if it’s just for appendicitis now, the next ti soone doesn’t feel well, they’ll think of him, Liu Banxia.
