Chapter 1297: New heir Chapter 1297: New heir “I found you.” ylin could not help but tremble as she heard those words.
Standing before her was the young man who had been by her side during the last monts in Aether.
It was the exact sa face she rembered, but now, there was sothing different.
She gazed into Cain’s eyes and saw the weight of responsibility, the passage of sorrow and hardship that could have broken anyone else.
Yet, he stood immutable, strong, and steady, regardless of the calamities that had arisen.
Cain extended his right hand toward her.
Without hesitation, ylin grasped it, allowing him to help her rise from the ground.
She lunged forward the mont she was on her feet, wrapping her arms around him in a tight embrace.
She held him with all her strength as if fearing he might vanish if she let go.
A flash of surprise crossed Cain’s face at her sudden reaction, but it quickly softened into a gentle smile.
He returned the hug, holding her close.
Although she had changed a lot-in many aspects, she was even more beautiful now-for him, she was still that wild and determined young girl he had t in the military academy, with whom he had faced all sorts of obstacles. It was a genuinely emotional mont, a reunion that both had longed for.
Their silence spoke volus, and each found comfort in the other’s presence.
At least, it was peaceful until soone decided to intervene.
“Oh, so you two are lovers.
Good, that makes the decision even easier,” the Demon King remarked, his voice echoing through the hall.
It was evident that the Demon King had been isolated for millions of years; he clearly did not know how to pick up on social cues or read the room.
Cain and ylin broke their hug, both showing awkward expressions as they processed the Demon King’s words.
Although they had developed feelings for each other, ylin’s ti in Aether had ended before they could truly act upon them.
The sudden labeling of their relationship caught them off guard.
Cain glanced at ylin with a wide smile.
Turning back to the Demon King, he nodded.
“Yes, we are.
Actually, the main reason I ca here was to find her.” He paused for a mont, gathering his thoughts.
Turning back to ylin, he gave her a playful yet reprimanding look.
“Which would have been much easier if a certain person would have reacted to my na when she learned about it.” Cain wasn’t truly angry, but confusion lingered.
The reason he had used his real na upon arriving in this world was to draw Beelze’s attention.
ylin had clearly heard it, yet she hadn’t approached him.
He would have understood if she had decided not to continue their relationship, but that didn’t seem to be the case. ylin t his gaze before releasing a small sigh.
“It was related to the prophecy of the Demon King’s Castle,” she explained.
A sharp light appeared in Cain’s eyes as he heard those words.
He listened carefully and wasn’t alone; even the Demon King paid close attention to the young woman’s explanation.
“What you and the others heard from Lady Alu was false,” ylin continued.
“The true prophecy goes like this: ‘As they enter the domain of the king of darkness, the child of the sun will close his eyes, the dragon from a distant land will fall to the ground, and the daughter of the moon will weep.'” Cain’s eyes widened in realization.
The prophecy was the complete opposite of what Lady Alu had depicted.
It spelled doom for the Tiamat Sect and the Sun Church.
It also seed to entail wounds for the Moon Cult, but of a lesser scale.
“Was Lady Alu willing to take small wounds to cripple the other two?” Cain mused aloud, trying to piece together the puzzle.
The manipulation of such a prophecy suggested a deeper strategy at play, one that involved sacrificing a pawn to gain a greater advantage.
He shook his head, frustration evident.
“The information we have is too limited.
There’s no way to fully understand her motives right now.” Despite the newfound understanding regarding ylin’s secrecy, Cain realized there were still many unanswered questions.
Up to this mont, he had yet to comprehend how Beelze-the ylin he knew-had beco the Sacred Saintess of the Three Moons of the Crimson World.
Before they could delve deeper into the conversation, the Demon King cleared his throat or made a sound that served the sa purpose.
“I know you two have a lot of catching up to do, but we must address more pressing matters first,” he declared, his tone leaving no room for argunt.
“The Prival World will close soon, and it will expel you once it happens.
There are many things to do before that occurs.” Cain and ylin exchanged a glance, recognizing the urgency in his words.
They shared a profound nod, silently agreeing to set aside their personal matters for the ti being.
Together, they walked toward the massive throne where the Demon King awaited.
The Demon King’s left eye focused intently on them before turning his attention specifically to ylin.
“I will now pass the Prima Depravita Inheritance to you and help you take the first step into becoming a Prima Depravita,” he announced.
“Once that is completed, my chains will break.” ylin adopted a solemn expression, her eyes reflecting determination.
She nodded, steeling herself for the task ahead.
Although the way she got chosen as the heir was not exactly the best, she was thrilled to obtain such imnse power as it was clear that becoming a Prima Depravita would improve every aspect of her existence and allow her to rise beyond her wildest dreams. The Demon King seed satisfied with her resolve.
“Good,” he said, his voice echoing with ancient power.
He then shifted his gaze to Cain, and after a mont, he focused on the cocoon that held the Sun Lord’s incarnation as coldness arose in his left eye.
