Chapter 1396: The Night Prince Chapter 1396: The Night Prince Cain’s eyes glowed with fierce red flas, an inferno of controlled rage and unyielding determination.

His gaze locked onto the assassins, both mbers of the Atrox Race.

Their strength was formidable, even for Early Divine Transcendence Masters, but it mattered little.

At this mont, they were utterly powerless in the grip of the young man before them.

The Eye of Gluttony pulsed ominously as Cain’s power surged.

Tendrils of energy radiated from it, weaving an invisible bridge into the Soul Dinsion of one of the assassins.

The Atrox’s body trembled violently, his resistance waning as the oppressive force of Cain’s Ego Wave overwheld him.

In monts, the light in the assassin’s eyes dimd, fading completely as his Ego Wave was consud.

His body followed suit, collapsing into a lifeless husk before dissolving into dust, utterly devoured.

Cain closed his eyes, letting the torrent of mories flow into his mind.

The information surged like a flood, fragnted pieces of another’s life that he thodically sifted through and pieced together.

Each mory gave him greater clarity, and the assassin’s purpose and sches unraveled under Cain’s scrutiny.

The remaining Atrox watched in terror.

His trembling worsened as he witnessed his companion’s grim fate.

His eyes darted wildly, seeking escape, but there was none.

Cain’s fiery gaze turned toward him, the monstrous eye projecting a demonic aura that suffocated the assassin’s courage.

Before he could scream or plead, a shadowy winged snake materialized from Cain’s third eye, lunging toward his mind.

The Atrox flinched, but there was no avoiding the inevitable.

The Leviathan shadow pierced his Soul Dinsion, its fangs tearing into his Alter-Ego.

Cain felt the assassin’s will crumble under the assault, his resistance futile.

The Leviathan consud everything-life force, soul energy, and even the faintest traces of mories-until there was nothing left but dust carried away by the wind.

Cain remained still for a mont, his mind processing the mories he had acquired.

The fragnts painted a clearer picture of the situation, and a deep frown etched itself across his face.

“It advanced faster than I thought,” he murmured.

“There are already several factions in play, and there’s a clear leader among them.” He exhaled slowly, the weight of the revelations pressing on him.

Cain had believed the factions would take longer to rise, as the Gu Contest encouraged patience and strategy.

Yet, soone had shattered those expectations, forcing the sect into premature chaos.

Cain’s lips curled as he muttered the na that resonated through the mories.

“The Night Prince.” A solemn light flickered in Cain’s fiery eyes as he uttered the title.

The Night Prince had sent shockwaves through the Gu Sect over the past year while Cain had been hunting his targets.

The mories revealed that the Night Prince was a mber of the Godslayer Humankind, just like Cain.

However, what truly set him apart was his heritage-he was the heir of the Nightmare Kingdom, a Holy Tier Organization pledged in allegiance to the Gu Sect.

Though the Nightmare Kingdom couldn’t rival Lord Tier Organizations in power, its legacy included the birth of a Third Realm life form, granting it a heritage of unparalleled prestige.

What astonished Cain the most was the Night Prince’s audacity.

Despite being only a Peak Divine Transformation Master, the Night Prince had boldly beco the first to form a faction for the upcoming Gu Contest.

His move drew imdiate ire from powerful figures in the light and dark camps.

No one believed he would last long under the imnse pressure of such scrutiny.

Yet, the Night Prince defied expectations.

He didn’t just survive; he thrived.

Through sheer determination and skill, he defeated those who sought to crush him, centing his status when he killed a Peak Divine Transcendence Master during a Gu Challenge.

That victory solidified his reputation and caused his faction to explode in size and influence, attracting the favor of powerful individuals, including a Core Elder.

Cain’s brow furrowed as he pondered the implications of this teoric rise.

The Night Prince’s success had set off a chain reaction, forcing other figureheads within the sect to move prematurely.

Factions sprang up ahead of schedule, each seeking to secure their foothold before the contest began.

One particularly notable faction was the Golden Fist, led by Samira, a Core Elder from the Legio Eldrich Race.

Cain’s new mories revealed her brutal thods.

Samira had deployed assassins across the sect’s territories, targeting mbers outside the Gu Sect who might join rival factions.

Cain released a sigh, a mix of frustration and resignation.

“Because of the Night Prince, I’ve co late to the party,” he muttered.

But as the words left his lips, he shook his head, brushing the thought aside.

“Whatever.

I never intended to form a faction to begin with.” His eyes glead with calculated intent as he considered his next move.

“Now, what I should focus on is whom to join-if I join anyone at all.” Cain’s thoughts churned as he weighed the possibilities.

Joining a faction had undeniable benefits.

His strength and cunning would undoubtedly earn him rits, and he could climb the ranks swiftly.

But there was an inherent drawback-no matter how high he ascended, he would always be subordinate to soone else.

Remaining independent was another option.

Cain’s reputation, built on his displays of power and cunning, would make him an attractive ally to both the light and dark camps.

Both sides might approach him with offers, seeking to use his talents for their gain.

The potential rewards were vast, but the dangers were equally great.

Navigating the sect’s political landscape as a free agent would require precision and vigilance.

After several monts of reflection, Cain sighed again.

He had no clear answer.

“I can only decide after seeing the offers I get from the factions and assessing the opportunities I can exploit,” he concluded.

With his path montarily clear, Cain rose into the sky.

His figure blurred as he sped toward the Gu Sect.

Unlike previous journeys, Cain chose to enter through the southern gates.

The northern gates were dominated by the Dark Races, and the volatile situation made them a dangerous route.

Cain had no intention of drawing unnecessary attention or igniting further conflict.
