Chapter 1629: Heroes only exists in fairy tales

Cain felt profound satisfaction as he observed the newfound determination and purpose ignited within the eyes of his wives.

While Astrid and Shura might never attain unparalleled heights on the battlefield, Cain knew that if they dedicated themselves wholeheartedly, they would still have crucial roles to fulfill in the upcoming war.

The importance of their chosen professions could not be overstated. Rune Formations were pivotal for armies, allowing entire battalions to unify their strengths and confront vastly more powerful foes. Likewise, Revolution Refinent was equally vital, perhaps even more so, as it enhanced soldiers’ potential, enabling them to surpass their limits and continuously increase their fighting prowess.

As his wives quietly imrsed themselves in their enlightennt, Cain turned his attention toward his two sons, Magnus and Rylanor.

Their youthful faces glowed fiercely, their eyes burning with an ever-intensifying willpower. The Scarlet Seeds within their soul seas had already absorbed an imnse amount of energy, yet the Scarlet Leviathans had not manifested.

The majestic, demonic-winged serpents were far too potent to awaken within a re soul sea. Therefore, they would remain radiant Scarlet Suns, continuously nourishing their hosts until the two boys faced and triumphed over their Ego Destruction Tribulations, forming their Soul Dinsions.

Until that critical mont, the Scarlet Seeds would radiate nurturing energies, continually strengthening their Ego Eternal Paths of Power.

Cain had specifically designed these enhancents to prepare Magnus and Rylanor for the possibility of facing the legendary Nine Heavens Ego Destruction Tribulation. Upon successfully overcoming such an ordeal, their Scarlet Leviathans would finally erge, fully initiating them onto their destined paths as mighty warriors.

Unlike Astrid and Shura, Cain fully intended his sons to enter the battlefield and fight alongside him. Magnus and Rylanor were blessed with extraordinary talent, placing them far ahead of 99.999% of all cultivators.

With rigorous training and life-and-death challenges, they could potentially reach the rank of Prima Deity within a re three centuries, becoming paragons and critical pillars of his future campaigns.

Cain understood profoundly the dangers inherent to the path he planned for them. However, he had already endowed their Royal Scarlet Seeds with a unique safety asure—just like the Sky Sovereign, their Leviathans could channel the might of the Lord of Conquest Leviathan in a critical ergency.

Naturally, he chose to keep this safeguard secret. To truly unleash their hidden potential, Magnus and Rylanor needed to genuinely feel the danger of death breathing down their necks. Only through real, palpable peril could their latent potential truly erupt beyond all previously known limits.

Throughout their journey, Cain continuously infused his psychic energy into the Scarlet Leviathans within his wives and children, nurturing them ticulously. By the ti they arrived at the entrance of the Gu World, all four Leviathans had evolved impressively into Ascendant Scarlet Leviathans.

That was the furthest Cain could evolve them without resorting to using precious Origin Energy—sothing he chose not to do for now, as unlike with the Sky Sovereign, there was no imdiate urgency to maximize their powers.

Cain’s eyes narrowed with precision as his gaze pierced countless layers of spatial barriers, reaching directly toward the Gu World. His Ego Wave enveloped the entire group protectively as he spoke firmly.

“Wait for us,” Cain instructed the Void Creature beneath them.

Instantly, Cain, Astrid, Shura, Rylanor, and Magnus vanished from their position. Left alone, the Void Creature trembled slightly but did not dare move an inch, remaining utterly still, awaiting their return.

A heartbeat later, Astrid, Shura, Magnus, and Rylanor found themselves standing above an entirely different world. They stared down in disbelief at a vast realm, its sky scarred with deep fissures, its continents shattered and lifeless.

Although Cain had vividly described his intense battle against Reverend Madness, seeing the devastation firsthand was sothing else entirely. The sheer scale of destruction left them speechless, providing a brutal visual confirmation of how unimaginably fierce that battle had truly been.

“Magnus, Rylanor, pay close attention.”

Cain’s voice snapped the two boys out of their stunned reverie, bringing them quickly into sharp focus. Seeing their father’s serious expression, they imdiately straightened and adopted solemn deanors.

Cain paused briefly, his gaze firm and penetrating. “Neither of you has taken a person’s life before, have you?”

The brothers exchanged quiet, uneasy glances before slowly nodding. Aether had enjoyed prolonged peace, and although violence occasionally erupted among cultivators, no one had dared threaten Cain Laurifer’s sons. Furthermore, neither boy had a cruel nature that would drive them to kill senselessly.

Cain offered his sons a slight, comforting smile before returning to solemnity. “You are still children, and it’s right that you’ve enjoyed the innocence of your youth. But soon, you’ll step into the cultivation world, and there, taking lives will beco as ordinary as breathing.”

Shura and Astrid glanced uneasily at each other upon hearing Cain’s stark words. As mothers, they cherished their sons profoundly, and this harsh reality was difficult to accept. Nevertheless, they remained silent, knowing Cain spoke a harsh yet necessary truth.

Both won had witnessed their fair share of bloodshed; they understood perfectly that their sons possessed the potential to command armies, alter the course of wars, and reshape entire worlds. To fulfill such lofty destinies, Magnus and Rylanor needed to develop hearts capable of bearing the heavy weight of life and death.

Cain continued in a somber tone, “The first life I ever took was purely out of self-defense. I was just a little older than you two. Soone wanted to kill , and I had no choice but to act first.” His voice then took on a deeply emotional quality as mories flooded him. “But since then, I’ve taken countless lives. Most were enemies who sought my destruction or hard those I cared about. Yet there have been others who were neither friend nor foe, individuals who posed no direct threat to , yet whose deaths furthered my path. In those monts, I didn’t hesitate.”

Rylanor and Magnus took deep breaths, absorbing the gravity of their father’s words. They had always seen Cain as a hero—soone who eliminated only evil threats. Yet reality, they now understood, was far more complicated and morally ambiguous than history portrayed.
