Chapter 1636: Wits and guts (I)
Karter and Lancer could barely believe their eyes as Cain’s speed overwheld their senses, giving them no ti to react before he was already upon them.
His first target was the dragon-like Deus Behemoth, Lancer. The wingless dragon barely managed to channel energy through his body when a blazing kick struck him squarely in the abdon.
Flas instantly erupted on impact, and Lancer coughed out a mouthful of blood before being hurled violently through the air, tumbling helplessly into the distance.
Karter, the other Third Realm Master—whose appearance deceptively resembled a child—watched the scene unfold in horror. Yet, he had no luxury to worry about his comrade, as Cain’s figure flashed forward like a phantom, his hand surging with unstoppable force toward Karter’s throat.
“BOOM!”
Just before Cain’s hand closed around Karter’s neck, the small figure exploded into countless fragnts of fire, only to reappear hundreds of kiloters away.
Karter reford shakily, gasping for breath, his eyes wide with panic as he reached up to touch his throat, finding blood trickling down from a deep cut. He had narrowly escaped death, but just barely.
Karter and Lancer exchanged stunned, despair-filled glances from afar. An overwhelming feeling of defeat and powerlessness gripped their hearts.
Although Cain had indeed taken them by surprise, they couldn’t deny the cold truth—they had been instantly and utterly outmatched. Escape now seed impossible, especially with the forcefield restricting their power and the imnse gravitational pull from the dark sphere in the sky, preventing any attempt at fleeing.
Submitting to a young man not even a century old was imnsely humiliating for them. Yet, when the only other option was certain death, pride held little aning.
The two Third Realm Masters prepared themselves to lower their heads and surrender to Cain’s overwhelming might. Unfortunately for them, they hesitated just a second too long.
“If this is the extent of your power,” Cain declared coldly, his voice echoing with chilling indifference, “then I’d benefit far more from devouring you than from letting you live.” His penetrating gaze turned predatory, clearly indicating their roles had changed from rivals to prey. “You have exactly one chance to prove wrong.”
Karter and Lancer stared at Cain in disbelief. They had already accepted defeat and were ready to pledge their loyalty, yet now it appeared even surrender was a privilege they had to earn. Such a reversal was unimaginable—yet sohow, they had arrived at this humiliating juncture.
Both Third Realm Masters exchanged a brief, resigned glance before simultaneously releasing a silent sigh.
Imdiately afterward, their eyes ignited with renewed determination and fighting spirit, accepting that if survival demanded proof of their worth, they would show Cain the full extent of their might.
“BOOOOOOOMMMM!”
An explosive surge of flas erupted from Karter’s small form, rapidly transforming him. His body swiftly rged with fire, becoming a living embodint of pure fla.
“ROAR!”
Simultaneously, a deafening roar echoed through the sky as Lancer invoked his Soul Bloodline. He transford dramatically, becoming an enormous, wingless oriental dragon spanning seven million ters in length, his scales shimring in obsidian black, radiating a fearso aura.
“That’s more like it,” Cain smiled approvingly. His arms and legs ignited, enveloped in scorching deep-red flas far hotter than the sun’s surface. He calmly signaled the two Third Realm Masters to attack, welcoming their struggle for survival.
“ROOOOAAARRR!”
With a world-shaking roar, the gigantic dragon lunged fiercely at Cain, claws tearing through the air with unimaginable strength. Cain’s fists tightened as he gathered energy from his surroundings, channeling imnse power into a single punch that t the dragon’s mighty claw head-on.
“BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!”
The sky ruptured violently as fist collided against claw, releasing a catastrophic wave of fiery and dark energy that rippled outward, shaking space itself.
Despite the enormous difference in their sizes, Cain matched the dragon’s attack with raw physical might alone. For a brief mont, they remained locked in a stalemate before being thrown back from the explosive impact.
Cain instantly regained his combat stance with ease, his composure unshaken. In contrast, Lancer struggled to regain control, clearly indicating Cain’s dominance. Yet Cain had no chance to savor this minor victory—his eyes widened suddenly as space itself ignited around him.
“BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!”
A colossal burst of flas engulfed Cain entirely. Karter watched the fiery explosion with eager hope, but his expression twisted in despair as Cain erged unhard, materializing calmly outside the blast radius, his eyes fixed sharply upon Karter.
“Space combustion?” Cain murmured softly, imdiately grasping the core principle of Karter’s secret technique with a re glance.
Karter’s face paled with shock as Cain flashed toward him again, this ti moving like a beam of radiant light. His Royal Space-Ti Eye activated, revealing countless thin, red lines scattered across the void, each capable of detonating space upon contact.
The invisible trap set by Karter was intricate and masterful, leaving Cain impressed by the complexity. Navigating such a treacherous path would normally slow him down.
But Cain had already surpassed such limitations.
“Blazing Conquest Step!”
His figure glowed brilliantly, rging with storm-light itself. He transford into a blazing beam of energy, weaving effortlessly between the explosive spatial threads at speeds beyond comprehension.
Karter reacted swiftly, desperately retreating while attempting to anticipate Cain’s position to ignite space preemptively.
However, his technique, once formidable, was now useless against Cain’s overwhelming speed. Even though the explosions themselves occurred instantly, Karter required at least a fraction of a nanosecond to trigger each detonation. In that minuscule interval, Cain had already vanished and reappeared in another location entirely.
Despite Karter’s desperate attempts, in under three seconds, Cain had completely closed the distance between them.
There was neither rcy nor hesitation in Cain’s cold, ruthless eyes as he delivered a flaming punch straight through Karter’s fla-bound form. His blazing fist pierced effortlessly, yet to Cain’s mild surprise, Karter suddenly wore a victorious, defiant smile.
Cain’s eyes widened montarily, catching onto Karter’s hidden strategy. His expression shifted quickly into one of mild appreciation.
“Clever,” Cain murmured, as a small smile arose.
In that instant, the energy within Karter’s flaming body condensed to its limit before violently detonating.
“BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!”
