Chapter 1656: The power of curses

It did not take long for an imposing old man and a strikingly beautiful young woman, both mbers of the Godslayer Humankind, to ascend into the sky above the sprawling city. Their overwhelming presence radiated a majestic and imposing might.

Though the old man appeared to be in the twilight of his life, his robust body brimd with muscular vitality, exuding a physical strength so potent that it seed to warp and bend the very fabric of space around him.

Clearly, his aged appearance was not the result of waning life force, but rather a purposeful representation of profound wisdom gained over countless years.

He was bald, with a short, neatly-trimd gray beard, and eyes glowing with a majestic golden radiance. Draped across his broad shoulders was an ornate royal robe embroidered with intricate golden patterns, and perched atop his head rested an imposing, crown adorned with gemstones whose brilliance rivaled the stars.

“The Golden Star King.” Cain’s eyes sharpened imdiately as he observed the old monarch. Having absorbed countless mories, he knew the depth of power possessed by the ruler before him.

This was not an opponent to be underestimated or treated lightly. Yet Cain remained calm, confident, and entirely unafraid.

Soon Cain’s gaze shifted toward the woman at the Golden Star King’s side. She was breathtakingly beautiful, with golden hair cascading like a radiant waterfall over her delicate shoulders, and piercing sky-blue eyes that shimred more enchantingly than any ocean ever could.

Waves of power emanated from her slender figure, as though the very Laws of reality danced obediently around her, captivated by her ethereal charm.

“Makiela, his daughter-in-law.” Cain briefly studied the woman, noting her formidable presence before calmly glancing around again, searching for another figure he expected but did not yet see. A peculiar, cold smile appeared on his lips.

“It seems the Crown Prince isn’t here—that’s fortunate.” Though it was undoubtedly advantageous for Cain that the Golden Star Crown Prince was absent, a faint pang of disappointnt stirred within him.

Cain had history with that man, dating back to the defeat of the Golden Lake Avatar. It was the Crown Prince the one that appeared that day.

Back then Cain could only run away, hoping to not draw the man’s attention. However, now he would have really liked to et the strongest warriors of the Golden Star Kingdom.

“There is always the future,” Cain silently assured himself, focusing on the imdiate situation.

Cain then returned his attention to the two figures before him. His small, faintly amused smile never wavered, his eyes betraying not even the slightest hint of fear or apprehension.

Observing Cain’s casual ease, the Golden Star King’s fists clenched involuntarily. It had been countless millennia since soone had dared approach him without proper deference—let alone stand at his doorstep with such bravado. Yet the old king swiftly regained control, breathing deeply to calm his rapidly rising anger.

Before the Golden Star King could speak, Cain calmly raised a hand, silencing him effortlessly. Cain’s eyes lost all their brightness, replaced by deep, inscrutable voids as he abruptly turned his head toward his left.

“It’s rude to remain hidden like that,” Cain remarked indifferently. His Royal Space-Ti Supernova Eye activated instantly, releasing an invisible pulse of raw power.

“CRACK!”

Space itself shattered like fragile glass, revealing a concealed pocket dinsion. Within this hidden refuge stood a startled Anima Machinarium, whose presence had been expertly concealed monts before.

The Anima visibly trembled, unable to conceal his astonishnt at having been exposed so effortlessly.

The Golden Star King and Makiela also appeared shocked, their expressions betraying their confusion and alarm. Though countless stories circulated regarding the terrifyingly powerful Monster, none had indicated such mastery of Space-Ti Laws.

“You must be Arman,” Cain said casually, eyes devoid of emotion yet carrying an implicit threat. “Co here with the rest so we can speak properly.”

Arman’s eyes narrowed sharply, considering his options. If combat erupted, keeping Cain’s attention divided would have been beneficial. Even though his cover had been compromised, remaining apart might still be strategically advantageous. Thus, Arman remained motionless, defying Cain’s casual command.

Seeing the Anima’s stubbornness, Cain remained unfazed. Still emotionless, a chilling smile spread across his face.

“If you refuse to co closer,” Cain said softly, almost playfully, “then please do a favor and gaze directly into my right eye.”

A sense of foreboding imdiately overwheld Arman. Cain’s right eye expanded dramatically within his perception, becoming a massive whirlpool of darkness that threatened to consu his soul instantly.

“ZNNNN!”

Reacting instinctively to the mortal threat, Arman teleported instantly, reappearing swiftly behind the Golden Star King, using the mighty ruler as a shield.

Now that all three powerful figures were neatly aligned in his field of vision, Cain’s smile widened ever so slightly. Yet the emptiness in his eyes persisted, making his intentions impossible to discern clearly.

“Let’s skip formalities,” Cain declared bluntly, his voice commanding absolute attention. “I stand here as the King of the Gu Sect. Hand over Marlin imdiately.”

The Golden Star King’s eyes twitched violently. However, he restrained himself, determined to maintain control and delay any potential conflict until his son, the Crown Prince, could return.

“What makes you believe this person is even here?” the Golden Star King asked slowly, cautiously attempting diplomacy to stall for ti.

Cain sighed audibly, shaking his head dismissively. With a simple gesture, Lady Azure materialized beside him, her figure trembling. Before the Golden Star King could respond or even react, Cain’s eyes ignited with monstrous red flas. Behind him, the spectral image of an ancient, decrepit old man manifested.

This phantom rged into Cain’s body, shifting his aura to one of wickedness and profound decay.

Without hesitation, Cain seized Lady Azure’s head. Monstrous, corrupted cursed power flooded violently from his hand directly into the Anima’s soul.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”

From deep within the Golden Star Kingdom arose a scream of indescribable pain and suffering, followed by an eruption of power so fierce that it instantly shook the foundations of the massive city.
