Chapter 1692: Attacking Divine Calamity Heaven’s forces (I)

In the real world, Cain, Jarkal, and even the summoned automaton constructs seed to freeze in place for a heartbeat—suspended in ti as though the entire world had forgotten how to move. Then, just as suddenly, ti caught up.

The illusion shattered.

The Dark Moon Eye—Cain’s Archdeity’s eye—snapped shut, its power vanishing in an instant. Blood trickled from the corner of his right eye as the pain struck him like a hamr. His body recoiled violently, muscles spasming under the strain of the forbidden ability. But there was no ti to recover, no mont to breathe.

Despite having endured eighty-one days of illusory tornt, having been dismbered billions of tis within the mindscape of Cain’s illusion, Jarkal’s will had not broken. His body was weakened. His soul was shaken. But his consciousness remained firm.

“He’s a tough bastard, you’ve got to admit that,” echoed Apex’s voice within Cain’s mind.

Cain nodded slightly, though a grin curled his lips in response. Apex was right. Jarkal’s resilience only made him more deserving of death.

Cain’s killing intent surged, rising like a tidal wave of cosmic rage. With his life force burning and his soul ignited, he pushed forward again, channeling everything into the Shooting Star Dragon Halberd.

“ZNNNNNNNNNN!”

A thunderous screech echoed through the subterranean battlefield as the halberd tore through the constructs Jarkal had summoned. Cain appeared right in front of the Primordial Deity, his weapon lifted high before being brought down with all the fury he could muster.

Though Jarkal’s mind had survived the illusion, that didn’t an he was unscathed. His ntal defenses were on the verge of collapse, his body was in chaos, and his power was barely stable. It was only his willpower—unyielding and wild—that kept him from passing out.

“Libera—” Jarkal tried to activate his strongest transformation, to unlock his Alter-Ego, but he never got the chance.

The halberd struck his chest with apocalyptic force, slicing through flesh, bone, and organs alike. His blood ignited on contact, lighting his body in flas.

In the very next mont, Cain’s left hand shot forward, wrapping around Jarkal’s throat in an iron grip. The halberd vanished from his right hand, and instead, Cain drove his fist into Jarkal’s lower abdon. His fingers tore into divine flesh until they wrapped around the core of the man’s being.

Jarkal’s eyes widened in horror as he saw Cain grip his Evolution Core—the very heart of his Inner Universe, a crystallized construct of fire and shadow—and rip it from his body.

Jarkal couldn’t even scream. Cain’s grip on his throat had sealed all sound.

Without hesitation, without a sliver of rcy, Cain sent the Evolution Core into his own Inner World.

“RUMBLE!”

The World Tree within Cain’s soul imdiately responded. Its massive, branches whipped forward, engulfing the core in a tidal wave of spiritual roots. The energy was rapidly absorbed, the Tree preventing it from destabilizing the fabric of Cain’s Inner World. Instead of damage, the core was transford into nourishnt.

Cain’s eyes narrowed with satisfaction as a surge of power pulsed through the landmass. But he didn’t lose focus. His gaze lit up once again—this ti with monstrous, predatory flas—as the Scarlet Throne materialized behind him, erging from nothing like a god’s judgnt seat.

Jarkal, still barely clinging to consciousness, saw the gate—the throne—and rembered Alexander’s fate. A terror unlike any he had ever felt gripped his soul.

In a desperate act of defiance, Jarkal tried to ignite all the energy in his head, hoping to destroy his brain before his soul could be taken.

Cain would not allow it.

With a re thought, he sealed Jarkal’s energy, paralyzing his soul long enough for the Scarlet Throne’s power to erupt forward. Chains of invisible power coiled around Jarkal’s body, anchoring his soul, mind, and ego—then ripping them from his physical vessel.

In a single mont, Jarkal was no more.

His soul was devoured by the Scarlet Throne.

As the gate closed and vanished, Cain stood still, allowing himself a mont of calm. A wave of pure exhaustion crashed into him. The battle had lasted less than ten seconds—but every second had felt like an eternity. Every mont had demanded all his focus, all his strength, and more.

And yet, it had to be done. It had to be silent, swift, and flawless, or Cain’s larger plan would have fallen apart.

Despite his fatigue, he acted quickly.

Cain surged his Ego Wave, forming a massive cocoon of psychic force that enclosed him and Jarkal’s lifeless body. Ti passed in tense silence. Minutes beca forty, then fifty. As the hour mark approached, the cocoon unraveled.

But it was not Cain who stepped out.

It was Jarkal.

Or at least, a perfect replica of him.

Cain had used his Genetic Coding mastery—an art in which he had surpassed even his Tribulation Enhancer talents—to recreate Jarkal’s body. Every physical feature, every molecular detail, even the subtle divine resonance of his energy field—identical.

“Hahaha… Excellent,” Cain muttered, admiring his work. “With this level of precision, I can truly call myself a Prima Genetic Coder.”

He laughed softly, not in arrogance but in triumph. The truth was, that genetic manipulation was easier than revolution refinent, which explained why he advanced so fast.

He narrowed his eyes, examining his new form.

“My body and energy are equal,” he said. “Even the alterations to my geno contain a spiritual component.”

He paused, brow furrowing slightly.

“But this still won’t be enough to fool the Triumvirate of Divine Sea Heaven.”

They were too powerful, too perceptive. A single flaw would give him away.

But then, a new glint of excitent flashed in Cain’s eyes as he turned inward. From the depths of the Scarlet Throne, a massive tree had begun to grow—one of fire and shadow.

Embedded in its bark was a face contorted with agony—Jarkal’s soul, still alive, still trapped, used now as the source of Cain’s mimicry.

“It’ll be enough,” Cain whispered. “But to be absolutely sure… I need to test it.”

With a wave of his hand, he shattered the underground battlefield, collapsing it into dust and stone. He rose to the sky, fire and shadows dancing in his wake, vanishing into the horizon like a phantom.
