In a remote and hidden corner of the Everstrife Empyrean World, there lay a mysterious cave. This place possessed a purity of energy so profound that even Archdeities would covet it fiercely. Yet, despite its imnse value, this location remained undiscovered and untouched through countless eons.

The cave was truly wondrous, illuminated faintly by thousands of crystals embedded within its walls—each resonating harmoniously with the cosmic laws of the universe. It had been untouched by any living soul for more than a billion years, allowing absolute silence to reign, a tranquility undisturbed for an unimaginable length of ti. However, this eternal peace was shattered abruptly as a piercing scream echoed throughout the cavern.

At the heart of the cave lay a shadowy cocoon that trembled violently. Suddenly, it split apart, releasing an intense burst of dark energy as a figure erged, gasping for air. It was none other than Divine Calamity himself.

Though he had barely managed to flee the Everlife Continent after suffering grievous injuries—his soul teetering dangerously on the brink of collapse—months spent within the cocoon, bathed in the cave’s extraordinary energies, had not rely stabilized him but had entirely rebuilt his physical form. As he rose unsteadily to his feet, shock and confusion filled his eyes while he observed his newly restored body, pulsating vibrantly with strength and vitality.

The last mory he held clearly in his mind was the soul-crushing assault inflicted by Cain, leaving him near death. In his mont of greatest desperation, a mysterious power hidden deep within his soul dinsion had suddenly activated, saving him from annihilation. Divine Calamity, bewildered and uncertain, desperately sought answers within his scattered mories.

Yet, before he could unravel these mysteries, his attention was swiftly captured by the incredible surroundings. His eyes widened in amazent as he fully perceived the countless glowing crystals embedded around him, each gem exuding imnse, untapped energy and potential. A wide, greedy smile spread across his face, ambition and desire igniting in his heart, clouding everything else.

Despite his cowardly nature, Divine Calamity was no fool. He understood perfectly that his Oga Heaven was lost—either seized by the Scarlet King or divided among other powerful Archdeities. Yet here was sothing even more valuable.

"Hmph, even if I’ve lost everything, it hardly matters," he murmured coldly, his voice echoing in the cavern. "This place alone possesses ten tis the wealth and power I accumulated within my Oga Heaven. With this, I could rebuild my cultivation from scratch and surpass my forr limits!"

Grandiose plans began forming in his mind, quickly followed by burning rage and hatred. "It might take a million years," he whispered fiercely, "but one day, I’ll rise stronger than ever and take vengeance upon Cain Laurifer!"

His imagination ran wild, picturing himself atop the Everstrife Empyrean World, every being bowing to him in utter submission. He was completely lost in these fantasies of power and revenge, consud by visions of unending supremacy.

"HMPH!"

A sudden cold sneer shattered Divine Calamity’s daydreams. The voice was so powerful it resonated within his mind, filling him with instant dread. He spun around in terror and found himself facing a shadowy figure whose eyes, colder than ice, stared down at him disdainfully.

"M-my Lord?!" Divine Calamity stamred, fear gripping his soul. This was the mysterious benefactor who had guided him from obscurity to beco one of the superpowers of the Everstrife Empyrean World. Yet even after all this ti, Divine Calamity still had no knowledge of this enigmatic figure’s true identity.

The reason for Divine Calamity’s panic was clear: his repeated failures to defeat Cain. His lord had previously declared that if he did not eliminate Cain Laurifer by the ti they next t, Divine Calamity would forfeit his own life.

"You are the very definition of insanity," the shadowy figure spoke scornfully, disdain evident in his tone. "Repeatedly performing the sa actions yet expecting different outcos—truly pathetic."

Divine Calamity tried desperately to respond, but the shadowy lord continued rcilessly, "You intend to waste millions of years cultivating in hopes of surpassing Cain Laurifer. Tell , do you expect him to simply remain idle, waiting patiently for your revenge?"

The Lord’s words cut deeply, exposing the profound foolishness and naivety of Divine Calamity’s plans. His cowardly nature and reliance on others for guidance had made him incapable of strategic thought or independent action, leaving him perpetually short-sighted and impulsive.

"My Lord, please..." Divine Calamity began to plead, desperation evident in his trembling voice. But before he could continue, a terrifying pressure erupted from the shadowy figure, violently assaulting his soul.

Divine Calamity collapsed to the ground, convulsing in unbearable agony as blood poured from every orifice of his face. The shadowy Lord observed impassively, his gaze utterly devoid of compassion.

"My power saved you from annihilation," the shadowy figure coldly stated. "Do you truly believe that I cannot also use it to crush your soul entirely?"

Divine Calamity writhed on the cavern floor, reduced to nothing more than an insect beneath the shadowy Lord’s gaze. Finally, after several torturous monts, the Lord withdrew his oppressive power, allowing Divine Calamity to breathe once more.

"I would have let you die and rid myself of your incompetence," the Lord stated icily, his voice dripping with contempt. "However, recent events have unexpectedly provided us with a new use for you."

Struggling, Divine Calamity rose shakily from the ground, prostrating himself before his cruel master. "Thank you, my Lord! I swear I will prove my worth!"

The sight of Divine Calamity groveling pathetically only deepened the shadowy Lord’s disgust. He had initially chosen Divine Calamity for his talent and potential, tempered by weakness and cowardice to ensure easy control. Yet seeing such a disgraceful display filled the Lord with profound disdain.

After a mont, the shadowy figure simply shook his head in contempt, fading silently into darkness. Unfortunately for Divine Calamity, his tornt was far from over.

As soon as the Lord vanished, the cave swiftly darkened, the crystals dimming as shadows surged from every direction. This darkness, sentient and all-consuming, swallowed the cavern entirely, pulling Divine Calamity into a realm of eternal night from which there would be no escape.
