Now reading: Chapter 1972: Cain, Amon, and Bael vs Legion (III) from The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order, a Action novel by Redsunworld.

Relying on his imagination and cognitive abilities, sharpened further by the Crown of Ascendance, Cain forged a technique of terrifying might. It was not sothing born purely for destruction, but for sothing much more useful in this situation.

"Extension Technique—Great Conqueror Devourer!"

The mont Cain roared those words, the tiny black hole—compressed to the size of a grain of rice—burst outward. Reality warped violently as the singularity blood, blotting out the sky and expanding until it was the size of a world.

"RUMBLE!"

From the cosmic abyss ca a devouring power so imnse that the entire Sacred Dinsion trembled. No one felt its force more acutely than Legion.

"ARGGHHHRRHHHHHHH!"

A roar of rage and hatred exploded from the myriad maws covering Legion’s grotesque body. Fragnts of its imnse form were ripped away, dragged into the black hole, unable to resist the pull of the devouring event horizon. The abomination scread in genuine agony, its vast body unraveling piece by piece.

Yet, the Great Conqueror Devourer could not completely overwhelm Legion.

"No matter what you do, you cannot defeat !"

The entity’s voice thundered, full of venom and defiance, even as pieces of its body were torn away. But Cain only sneered in response. In a blur, he descended, piercing through Legion’s massive body once more, leaving behind another gaping wound. Without pausing, he flashed forward, seizing Amon and Bael—who had already reverted to their normal sizes—and dragged them with him at full speed. Cain warped the very fabric of space along his path, forcing reality itself to bend and increase his velocity.

For a split second, Legion’s countless eyes widened. It had been consud by its hatred, lost in its obsession with destroying Cain and erasing the golden force that had ripped two-thirds of its body.

Only now did it realize the truth: Cain had never intended to win this battle. His goal had always been simpler—to injure Legion grievously, to cripple it so thoroughly it could not recover easily. And in that, he had succeeded. Now all that remained was to escape.

They were in a sealed dinsion, separate from the Everstreif Empyrean World, a realm with only one entrance and one exit. With the Ouroboros Sect’s defensive chanisms still hamring down and Legion’s form badly damaged, Cain knew it was ti to leave.

"YOU DARE TO TRICK !"

Legion’s scream shook existence itself. All of its titanic strength surged as it ripped portions of its own body free from the black hole’s pull. The hatred in its eyes was so fierce it was ready to sacrifice even more of itself, just to escape and pursue Cain.

"AHHHHHHHHHH!"

In an eruption of psychic force, Legion tore free. It abandoned the enormous chunks of its body trapped within the black hole, but the rest of its gargantuan form lunged forward, chasing Cain with unstoppable montum. The Ouroboros Sect’s defensive arrays continued to burn, bombard, and slice into Legion, but the abomination ignored it all.

Nothing mattered anymore—only Cain.

Cain did not need to look back to feel the nightmare closing in. The sky itself seed to crash down behind him as Legion’s mass surged forward. His teeth clenched, his eyes glowed with willpower, and he forced his body to accelerate even faster as the portal leading out of the Sacred Dinsion finally ca into view.

But he was not fast enough.

Legion’s monstrous tentacles, launched from its colossal fra, lashed forward. Their speed was terrifying, and in the blink of an eye, they were nearly upon him and the brothers.

"ARGHHHHH!"

Cain roared, making his decision in an instant. With all his strength, he hurled Amon and Bael forward like teors. The brothers shot through the air like massive boulders, smashing into the portal and crossing into safety.

Cain, however, turned back. His eyes burned as he summoned every shred of remaining strength into his fists. He did not strike the tentacles lunging toward him. Instead, he struck the very fabric of space itself.

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!"

The impact generated a catastrophic explosion. Space shattered, a localized collapse forming a violent barrier that stalled Legion’s advance for the briefest mont. The sa blast hurled Cain forward, propelling him with the last burst of speed he needed. In the next instant, his body crossed into the portal.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Legion’s roar of frustration shook the realm, its hatred boiling over, but Cain no longer heard it.

In the blink of an eye, Cain appeared once more in the underground chamber beneath the Finger of Death and the Finger of Life. His body ached, his strength nearly spent, but his focus remained absolute. With a single sharp motion, he extended his hand like a blade and slashed at the portal with the last ounce of power left in his Resurrección.

"BOOOOOMMM!"

The portal shattered instantly. A massive burst of spatial force erupted as the connection was severed, throwing Cain, Amon, and Bael against the chamber’s stone walls with crushing force.

It might have seed excessive to destroy the portal. After all, they could have simply shut down the flow of energy and sealed it properly. But Cain was not willing to take chances—not with that abomination. Even after losing over seventy percent of its body, Legion remained horrifying, a creature whose very presence still made Cain feel the threat of death.

Better to sever the portal entirely than risk Legion forcing its way through.

Amon and Bael, though battered, said nothing in complaint. They knew the value of the Ouroboros Cult’s portal—it was one of the greatest treasures they had encountered—but wealth and opportunity ant nothing compared to survival. They had already obtained more than enough from their journey. If destroying the portal ant ensuring Legion could not pursue them, then it was worth it.

For a ti, the trio lay against the cold stone, their bodies aching, their souls drained. Silence filled the chamber, broken only by the lingering rumble of space settling after the collapse. Then, slowly, smiles spread across their faces.

It began with Cain, who allowed a low chuckle to escape. Bael followed, his deep laughter echoing off the chamber walls. Amon’s voice soon joined them.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
