The power of so many powerhouses and Runic War Avatars being unleashed violently and without restraint caused entire continents to ignite in an instant. Seas of flesh and decay burned under
overwhelming waves of energy, and the surface of the World of the Root trembled as if it were screaming in pain.
Of course, the powerhouses of the World of the Root were not about to allow such devastation to continue unchecked.
Radagon managed to restore his body while Cain and Robuke clashed. The mont his form stabilized, he flashed forward, intercepting Anark in a violent collision. A solemn expression appeared on the face of the True Primordial of the Void as Radagon's power surged. Inside the World of the Root, the King of the Root was especially fearso, his connection to the corrupted world amplifying his might.
Yet Anark was not alone.
Though Radagon had reforged his body, the strike from the Gate of Babylon had wounded his soul and essence. That lingering damage allowed Anark to clash head-on, their blows sending shockwaves across the battlefield as void and corruption collided again and again. Soon after, more figures began to erge across the surface.
Champions and High Lords of the Root appeared, the kind they faced during the Invasion of the Heart of the Root, but now far stronger. Back then, their interrupted gestation had deprived them of much of their power and Gifts. Now, however, nourished by the life force of what was once the Abyssalcrown Empyrean World, they had fully matured.
They were no longer incomplete horrors.
They were weapons of imnse power.
Fortunately for the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance, they too, had evolved. New treasures, refined techniques, reforged Ego Waves, and
A single command was enough.
They marched into the heart of the enemy's domain without fear or hesitation, proving just how far the alliance had evolved.
This was not the final battle.
Cain knew it.
And before an hour could pass, as the hole in the Wall of Fire and Flesh began to close dangerously fast, he issued a new command. "Retreat!"
Instantly, the warriors shifted their formations. With flawless
coordination, they disengaged and withdrew in an orderly fashion, moving away from the surface of the World of the Root and back into the void beyond the Wall of Fire and Flesh.
Radagon and the other powerhouses of the Root attempted to stop them. They knew that if the wall closed with enemies still inside, those warriors would be devoured by the World of the Root itself. But the teamwork of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance was flawless. No one was left behind.
Cain and Robuke continued to clash, their spear and axe colliding again and again with catastrophic force. Then, suddenly, as their weapons t once more, the spear in the Scarlet King's hands detonated.
A violent blast of Nihility and Entropy erupted in all directions, swallowing the battlefield in chaos. Robuke's senses were montarily overwheld, his perception drowned in corrosive void energy.
By the ti the monster located Cain again, the Scarlet King had already withdrawn into the void alongside the last of the retreating warriors.
Robuke burned with bloodlust.
He wanted to chase.
He could sense how dangerously low Cain's remaining energy was. Yet even though he was superior to Radagon, he still obeyed the will of the Root. His feral gaze remained fixed on Cain until the Wall of Fire and Flesh finally sealed itself shut.
Silence fell.
Cain stared at the World of the Root with cold eyes.
"This has been a good start," he murmured, his expression unreadable. "But one of those who ca from the Emptiness still hasn't revealed themselves. If I allow myself to relax, things will beco extrely dangerous."
Reinforcing his will and determination, Cain turned to the warriors of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance and smiled.
"We have proven our power," he said calmly. "We have shown that even those who call themselves endless and eternal can burn under our flas. Rest now. Soon, more battles will co until we reduce their world to ashes, one layer at a ti."
Smiles filled with triumph and exhilaration appeared across the faces of the warriors as they returned to the Golden Hall. Many imdiately began healing their wounds and restoring their energy, while others prepared for the next stage of the war without rest.
Cain, Anark, Amara, Cipher, Zephirax, Arkam, and Uriel gathered in the chamber containing the portals to the Empyreahn Worlds. They took their seats, ready to discuss their next moves.
Then-
Their eyes narrowed.
Two portals began to glow.
And it did not belong to any of their Empyrean Worlds.
