Jason and Elizabeth barely had ti to recover before the Crimson Exarch appeared above them.
His two golden guns had fused together, transforming into a massive gatling weapon. Without hesitation, Noah pulled the trigger.
A torrent of golden beams poured down upon the Curse Eaters like a storm of divine light.
Jason and Elizabeth clenched their teeth as they forced control back into their battered bodies. There was no ti to dodge the incoming barrage.
They would have to block it.
Jason gathered his power into his palm and thrust his hand upward. Instantly, hundreds of dark phantom palms manifested around his strike, rising together like a forest of shadows.
Beside him, Elizabeth channeled her power into her trident. The three tal prongs glowed with the terrifying essences of death,
annihilation, and oblivion, generating a spiraling vortex that surged forward to et the golden rain.
The combined defense of the two Curse Eaters shattered most of the descending beams.
But not all of them.
Several streams of golden light slipped through the gaps and pierced their bodies.
The damage was severe. The pain was excruciating.
Yet the Curse Eaters did not hesitate.
They flashed forward imdiately.
Elizabeth drove her trident straight toward Noah's eyes.
The Crimson Exarch reacted instantly. He raised the barrel of one of his guns like a shield, deflecting the trident upward and causing its destructive power to explode harmlessly above his head.
At the sa ti, Noah aid his second gun toward Elizabeth's stomach and prepared to fire.
But Jason appeared beside him in that exact mont.
The Curse Eater's fist shot toward Noah's temple with lethal speed. Noah's eyes narrowed.
In an instant, he changed the firing mode of the weapon in his right hand-from a focused shot to a wide plasma blast.
He pulled the trigger.
The blast struck Elizabeth's stomach, burning through flesh and armor alike.
The recoil from the weapon was enormous. It pushed Noah backward just enough for him to avoid Jason's incoming punch.
Elizabeth ignored the burning wound in her abdon.
Together with Jason, she imdiately pursued Noah.
The Crimson Exarch was extrely powerful, but one weakness had already beco clear.
His close-range combat ability was not on the sa level as his ranged attacks.
For the Curse Eaters, this was excellent news.
They specialized in brutal lee combat.
Despite their injuries, their speed remained terrifying. In the span of a heartbeat they closed the distance between themselves and Noah.
But just as they were about to enter striking range-
Noah's body dissolved into a sea of golden threads.
Not even a second later, both Curse Eaters felt their instincts scream
in warning.
They spun around instantly.
Behind them, Noah stood calmly with a gun aid at each of them.
Then he fired.
A torrent of flaming golden light erupted from the barrels, instantly engulfing the two Curse Eaters.
Their bodies were blasted across the void, burn marks spreading across their flesh.
Even as their skin lted under the intense plasma fire, Jason and Elizabeth forced their minds to remain focused.
They needed to understand what they were facing.
How had Noah disappeared and reappeared in an entirely different location within a single heartbeat, without disturbing the laws of
space or ti?
Of course, the Crimson Exarch had no intention of revealing his
secrets.
He simply flashed forward after them.
As he chased the two Curse Eaters across the void, Noah used every mont to charge his weapons further, infusing them with increasing amounts of energy mixed with the power of The Flow.
But the void was not the only battlefield.
Just because the Curse Eaters had been pushed away did not an the fighting inside the Worlds of the Root had cald down.
A massive shift had occurred, however.
With Jason and Elizabeth gone, Anark and ylin could finally focus their full attention on the Monster of the Root and the Warlock of the
Root.
The eyes of the True Primordial of the Void burned with overwhelming killing intent as he struck Robuke square in the chest.
The blow shattered several of the monster's ribs and sent the Monster of the Root crashing into the ruined landmass with such force that he
pierced straight into the layer below.
"ARGHHHH!"
Despite the horrific damage, Robuke did not fall.
He roared in fury as he spread his bat-like wings and surged upward again. The energy surrounding his war axe exploded outward as he swung it directly toward Anark's fists.
The collision shook the battlefield.
Anark clenched his teeth.
It took every ounce of power in his body to match Robuke's strength.
At the beginning of their battle, Anark had clearly been the stronger
of the two.
But the brief clash with Jason had been incredibly intense. It had left
wounds across both his body and his soul, draining his energy and preventing him from relying fully on the instantaneous regeneration
of his Samsara Immortal Body.
Even so-
The True Primordial refused to retreat.
Too many warriors had died beneath Robuke's axe.
Too many lives had been destroyed.
He owed it to all of them to do everything in his power to shatter the
monster's soul once and for all.
"ARRGHHHH!"
Anark roared as he unleashed every remaining fragnt of his
strength.
With a violent surge of power, he knocked the war axe aside and
tackled Robuke directly.
The two titans crashed upward into the ceiling of the Second Layer of
the Worlds of the Root, smashing through it with explosive force.
The impact triggered massive earthquakes across the entire First
Layer.
Entire continents began to collapse, falling into the depths of the world below.
ylin watched the destruction unfold.
A faint smile appeared on her lips.
The Curse Eaters had stolen what should have been a decisive victory.
But despite all the setbacks-
It seed they would still manage to shatter the uppermost layer of
the Worlds of the Root today.
Her eyes sharpened.
With a swift motion of her sword, ylin sliced a massive dragon of
fire in half as it rushed toward her.
Streams of blazing flas spread to either side as she surged forward
through the battlefield.
Her gaze locked onto a single figure.
The Warlock of the Root.
