"What is going through your head, Elara?" Justin asked as he saw the girl sitting behind the computer, deep in thought.
Elara, who was thinking about how her father reacted to the divorce and was glad she left the man after all, couldn’t help but rember how worried he looked when he heard about Sean’s death and how his father had been accusing her.
Her father was worried. And it was a natural reaction from any parent. The way that man was adamant on sending her to prison, it wouldn’t be long before he ends up creating false evidence against her.
And if that happened, to prove her innocence, she would’ve had to reveal other things to the world and to her family about what he wanted to do, and if that happened, things would get really ssy.
Thus, it was better to deal with that stuff before it blew out of proportion.
"Sean’s death," Elara said after so ti.
Justin, who sat beside her and munched on the imported chocolates that her brother had given to her, looked at the computer in confusion.
"What about him? Do you want to find sothing about him? Any dirt on him that we can expose that would stop his father from approaching the case and trouble you?" Justin asked.
Elara thought carefully and shook her head.
"No. And yes," she answered.
Justin looked at her, waiting for her explanation.
"I want you to find sothing about him, but not so kind of dirt. Daniel said they had let Sean go, and I know him; he wouldn’t lie to . If Sean was left with no clothes or anything, there was nothing anyone could rob him of. Soone deliberately killed him, probably soone he called for help," Elara said.
Justin bobbed his head up and down.
"What do you really want to do?" Justin asked.
Elara took a deep breath.
"Keeping the tiline in mind, find the numbers that were active in that region. Also, I want you to send 5 of our trained n to search the area for any evidence or at least a witness we can use to understand the situation. Rather than suppressing this news, I want to find the truth," Elara whispered.
Sean was a bad person, and such scum shouldn’t be left to live, but his father wasn’t so bad.
And she understood how much pain he was in because even after so much money, he couldn’t even find who killed his son.
Then again, she wasn’t doing this for that man alone. For so reason, her intuition told her that she would definitely hit a jackpot if she found out the truth.
And to set herself free from the incident forever, working on intuition was worth giving a try.
Justin, who understood what she was trying to do, smiled before shaking his head.
"I think you are in the wrong line of work. You should be a cop instead," Justin comnted, and Elara chuckled at his comnt.
"Nah. You are bound by rules when you are a cop. I would rather love to play without rules," Elara winked at the man, earning herself a chuckle.
"Okay. Anything else, madam?" Justin faked a British accent, and Elara looked at him for a brief second before grinning from ear to ear mischievously.
"Where is Daniel’s residence? I want to give him a surprise," Elara said confidently.
Justin arched his brows for a mont before typing a few codes to locate the man, and it wasn’t long before the pointer stopped at a particular location on the map.
"Hmm, here he is," Justin said before he turned the computer to Elara.
"You know how to do these things. Explore a little. If sothing goes wrong, I am here," Justin said.
Elara nodded before she started following Daniel’s little routine, her brows shooting up when she saw how many tis the car had gone to the Black Market region.
That’s what we call a real mafia. She thought to herself before trying to find out where his ho was.
When she found the location, she cleared her throat and retracted after erasing her traces.
"I just rembered I had to do sothing. Let know if you find sothing. And I forgot to ask. How is this new place?" Elara asked.
Justin looked around the new apartnt he got for free from Elara before nodding.
"It’s actually pretty cool." Justin appreciated the efforts she always put in to ensure he was comfortable while working for her.
"Good to know." Elara gave him a friendly wink before she left the apartnt.
She sat inside the car and looked at Antonio.
"Drive to the Gold Spoon residential area," Elara said.
Antonio turned to her in confusion since she was visiting this place for the first ti.
"I want to surprise Daniel. Bring him so sweets since he helped a lot today," Elara answered honestly, and the man humd.
"I know a place where they sell aweso cookies and baked goods. My friend’s sister introduced to it recently," Antonio said, and he drove to the place once he got approval from her.
As Elara sat in the car, she got a ssage from Candice saying she wanted to talk to her about sothing.
Elara furrowed her brows.
"Is it urgent? Should I co over?" Elara typed back.
She was really hoping to see Daniel, but if her friend needed her right now, she would get there first.
"If you are not busy, then co over. It’s not that important. I just wanted to et you, too. If you are busy, let’s schedule it for tomorrow. I have a eting too," Candice’s ssage ca shortly, and Elara agreed to et the other day.
She was about to put her phone aside when her phone rang with an incoming call from Justin, making her roll her eyes.
"Seriously? It’s only been fifteen minutes since I left, and you are already missing ?" Elara mused.
"Well, I could surely wait to gather more information, but I thought you would be interested in hearing this," Justin said.
"What is it?" Elara asked while looking at her nails.
"There were a couple of active numbers at the location at that ti. So I matched the tiline and saw which one stayed the longest. Then I found one and hacked into the database to check the ssages or the call logs. Guess what I found?" Justin asked, building her anticipation.
"What?" Elara asked, a bit serious now.
"The number ssaged soone you know. The number is registered under Andrew’s na," Justin said.
Elara sat there, montarily frozen.
Andrew? He killed Sean? But why? He didn’t even know about kidnapping at that ti...wait... he had known about the abduction and said he was looking for her...
"I don’t know. That doesn’t sound right," Elara said.
Justin humd from the other side.
"That’s because Beatrice uses the number. Probably a number she keeps hidden from others. I traced the call log and ssages, and guess what I found?" Justin asked.
Elara pursed her lips.
"Can you just tell everything in a single go?" She asked.
"No. No. No. Where is the fun in that? I’ll find more before telling you about it," Justin said before he ended the call.
Elara looked at the phone with irritation.
She dialed his number, huffing loudly when the call went to voicemail.
Sotis this guy really tests her patience.
