Beatrice cornered Elara once everyone got busy with their work, and her scene was done.
Elara, in the process of removing her makeup after her scene, looked at the girl in the mirror’s reflection, her brows arched.
"I didn’t expect you to actually release the footage of your humiliation to keep your role in the drama," Beatrice comnted.
Elara poured extra makeup remover oil onto the cotton swab before wiping the nude makeup she had used to show her lips were chapped and dry.
"This just shows how low you can stoop for what you want," Beatrice added to entice Elara more, raging from inside.
Elara looked at the girl before smiling and standing, turning to face her.
"Not as low as you can, which puts a stark difference between you and , no? You are the kind of person who would drop your clothes in the blink of an eye to get what you want. I an, Sean, your uncle’s friend, and then Andrew. Who knows how many guys you have already slept with?" Elara’s snarky remark made Beatrice’s face turn green with anger.
"What are you talking about?" Beatrice asked.
Elara chuckled.
"I provoked you a little, and you fell right into my trap. You put that phone in my bag and indirectly forced to ask for a proper investigation on the number. Do you think the cops won’t look into the other contacts’ ssages and whatnot, which would put the truth out in the open about who was the real user of that number?" Elara asked.
As soon as Beatrice heard her words, she froze for a second.
"What is it that you want from ? Why are you targeting ? You made it clear that you don’t need Andrew, then why?" Beatrice asked.
If her identity were exposed to the world before her plan worked out, the cops would reach her later, her uncle would kill her first, and that was the last thing she wanted to happen when her goal was to survive.
Elara bobbed her head up and down.
"Revenge," she said.
"Revenge?" Beatrice asked.
Elara nodded and turned to get changed.
"Do you mind?" She asked.
Beatrice gritted her teeth and exited the room, clenching her fists, since, rather than calming her anger by humiliating Elara, she had only gotten more worked up.
But what Elara said wasn’t a joke either. The police would definitely look into the background history of the number, and it would reveal her chats with her uncle, Sean, and—
Beatrice ruffled her hair angrily before she walked away.
Elara walked out of the shooting area after thanking everyone for letting her continue.
As soon as she exited the set, she was attacked by a bear hug, and she nearly stumbled back in surprise, but the man’s hands kept her in place.
"You dummy, why didn’t you tell anything? Must you suffer everything alone?" Mason asked her, and Elara relaxed in the embrace.
She didn’t say anything. She didn’t know what to say in this situation.
"I can’t believe that bastard did that to you. I know you didn’t kill the man, but even if you did, it’s perfectly justifiable," Mason huffed, concern evident in his eyes.
Elara opened her mouth to speak when she saw soone taking photos of her and rembered that, unlike her, Mason wasn’t a rookie actor.
He had a well-established fandom, and this might damage his reputation.
"Let’s go sowhere else and talk. I am famished anyway," Elara said to Mason, who agreed to her proposition and entered his car, ready to follow her car.
"Let’s go to the Rosetta restaurant," Elara said, her gaze falling on Antonio’s knuckles that were almost turning white because of how tightly he held the steering wheel, and she couldn’t help but sigh.
There was no doubt the man had seen the video and probably still blad himself for what had happened back then.
"Hey, it wasn’t your fault. You know that, right?" Elara squeezed his shoulder, and the man nodded stiffly.
She was about to speak again when she received a ssage from the sa unknown number she had saved under Daniel’s 2nd number.
"It boils my blood to see that so man dared to touch what’s mine. And naturally, he didn’t deserve to love. I wanted to kill him with my bare hands, but he is not alive anymore. So I did sothing else. Hope you contact the next ti a problem arises."
The ssage said.
Elara read the ssage repetitively and couldn’t help but take a deep breath.
She knew seeing that video being circulated again must have infuriated Daniel.
Thus, she quickly ssaged Justin to either withdraw the video from the web or attach malware to it so it wouldn’t be circulated further, and he could remove it slowly.
Once done, she looked at the ssage that Daniel sent and smiled.
"What did you do?" Elara asked with an amused expression, wondering if it was so kind of surprise party or sothing he did to make her happy.
Since the man was out on important business, there was no way he was here. So what could it really be?
She contemplated a few things, waiting for the man to answer.
After what felt like an eternity, her phone vibrated, and she quickly unlocked the screen to read the ssage.
However, before she could click the ssage to read it, she saw her phone ring with an incoming call from George.
Seeing the caller ID, she chewed her lips nervously, thinking about a few things that she would say to her brother to get things under control.
She was sure this was about the video and braced herself for his words.
With a sigh, she picked up the call the second ti it rang.
"I know, brother, I should’ve told you about—"
"You know about it already?" George interrupted her, and Elara furrowed her brows.
Judging from his tone, it didn’t look like he called to talk about the video.
"About what?" Elara asked.
"Sean’s father was found dead in one of his club’s private rooms a few minutes ago. So say it was a suicide that he probably committed after seeing what his son did to a woman and how Turner’s group’s stocks crashed in just two hours. But many say it’s a murder," George said, and to say Elara was surprised would be an understatent.
She reread Daniel’s ssage, and her body froze.
I did sothing for you. The ssage said.
Does that an Daniel was behind this? She wondered.
She ended George’s call and quickly dialed Daniel’s number. The first number didn’t even go through, and she dialed the second number, but no matter how many tis she tried, he didn’t pick up.
She read the ssage that he had sent.
"You’ll know."
Frustrated with his ignorance, she quickly typed a ssage for Daniel, but rembering how she was still a pri suspect in the murder case and the police might want to look into her chat history, she stopped herself right in ti.
There was no way she could ntion the murder in the ssage.
Just what have you done, Daniel? Elara pursed her lips.
