"Elara, what are you talking about? Nothing you said makes sense to ." Andrew tried to hold Elara’s hand as he t her outside his company’s building, knowing she was heading there.

Elara, blinded with rage, looked him dead in the eye before jerking her hand away from his grip.

"It never does, no? Nothing I say ever makes sense to you," Elara gritted out before she scoffed at him.

"It’s okay. I will spell it out for you. After all, that was what I did in the three years of marriage. Explain things that you should’ve already known, and demand trust and love from my husband that should’ve been there naturally," Elara said.

Andrew pursed his lips and was about to open his mouth when he saw his employees starting to leave for ho, and he massaged his forehead.

"Can we not do this here? Everyone’s looking," Andrew said.

Elara looked at the man for a few seconds before she nodded.

"Right. Everyone is looking," she said, aning more than what she said before she walked towards her car.

"et at your parents’ house. We’ll talk there now," Elara said.

Beatrice, who had gone to the office since it was almost nine and Andrew was still not ho, saw Elara driving off and her fists clenched by her side.

What were the two talking about? What if she was here to rat her out about Sean’s murder? While she knew Andrew wouldn’t believe Elara easily, it would still sow a seed of suspicion if she ntioned anything about the affair.

The thought of losing everything after she had co this far made Beatrice quicken her pace, and she held Andrew’s hand before he could get into his car.

"Andrew, what’s going on? Why was Elara here? I an, she looked pretty angry," Beatrice twisted her question a little.

Andrew pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Even I would like to know the answer to it. She just said sothing about my parents knowing how to make use of connections, and it doesn’t make any sense to . She is going to my parents’ house now. That’s where I am headed, too," Andrew said.

Beatrice nodded in understanding.

"You ca by your car, right?" Andrew asked.

Beatrice shook her head in denial.

"My car had so issues, and I sent it to the garage. I ca by taxi. Don’t worry about . I’ll take the taxi back ho," Beatrice said with a soft smile.

Andrew looked at the girl who never gave him a hard ti about anything, who had always been so understanding, and couldn’t help but sigh.

"No need. I’ll drop you off at ho. Get in," Andrew said.

Beatrice smiled. That was precisely what she had intended to do. She deliberately ca by taxi so they could return in the sa car.

The only difference was that she hadn’t intended to go to Andrew’s parents’ house. She was hoping they could dine out.

Elara has a peculiar habit of ruining her plans, no? Beatrice scoffed inwardly before she sat in the back seat with Andrew.

"I am sure you heard about Sean’s father’s demise. You’ll have to reschedule a couple of etings to attend the funeral, and that’s why I wanted to give you a heads-up in case you forgot. I was in the area to et a friend anyway," Beatrice said after so ti to break the silence between them.

Andrew nodded, not saying anything, nonetheless.

Halfway through the ride, Beatrice fell asleep, and her body tilted to Andrew’s side.

Andrew stilled for a few seconds when she fell on him like this, not because he felt good or giddy but because it was truly uncalled for.

Andrew tried to help her sit up straight and lean to the other side, but she kept falling on him, and at last he gave up, not wanting to wake her since he preferred the silence.

It wasn’t long before the car stopped, and Jason looked at his boss through the rearview mirror.

"Sir, you should wake her up now," Jason said.

Andrew nodded and was about to turn to the girl to wake her up when he saw Elara looking straight at him. He froze. The feeling of being caught in the act took over, and he hurriedly pushed Beatrice away, waking her in the process.

"What—?" Beatrice started, startled at the sudden force.

"We are already here," Andrew said, and without an explanation, he stepped out of the car.

"Elara, it’s not what it looks like. She just fell asleep, and I tried pushing her away, but you can’t really control a person in sleep without waking them up," Andrew tried to reason, thinking Elara would misunderstand again.

Elara, on the other hand, gave him a curt nod. The anger inside her towards his parents was too much to think about or comnt on anything else.

She turned and walked inside the house with Andrew.

Beatrice also quickly got out of the car and followed them inside.

Sophia and Heather sat in the living room, sipping green tea, when they heard the rushed steps and looked up.

To say Sophia was surprised to see Elara in her living room after what happened today, and that Logan made her sign an agreent not to have any contact with her or to try to tornt her because of old ties, would be an understatent.

"Andrew? What’s going on?" Heather asked his son, and Andrew looked at Elara, who stood at the centre of the living room.

"You tell what is going on," Elara scoffed before she took a deep breath.

"Is it true that you went to my house and asked my parents for the Paradise project by threatening them that you’ll spread rumors about sleeping with multiple n?" Elara asked.

Heather and Sophia paused when they heard it. After all, Logan had promised them the agreent would stay between them, and the kids won’t hear of it.

Andrew, on the other hand, looked on in utter shock. He had heard from his father that they would need to work hard because they might get the Paradise project, and he wouldn’t allow any mistakes like there were in the previous one with the data.

At that ti, Andrew was indeed confused because they couldn’t even present their proposal, as Mr. Cooper had caused the ruckus and had already presented the sa proposal, but he trusted his father’s connections.

So this was how they got the project in their hands? The thought made him purse his lips.

When Heather and Sophia didn’t say anything for so ti, Elara’s gaze drooped, and she closed her eyes for a brief second.

Hearing the commotion, Carla also ca out of her room, her brows knitting close just at the sight of Elara standing in their house again.

"What does this bitch want now? Haven’t you taken enough from us?" Carla imdiately chid in from the first floor, and Elara suppressed the urge to scoff.

"Did that happen or not?" Elara asked again.

Sophia knew there was no point in lying, and thus, she took a deep breath before nodding.

"Yes. We did. And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. You got married to our son, and naturally, there should’ve been so gifts exchanged. But you deliberately kept your identity hidden from us. It’s only right that we get what we truly deserve," Sophia said shalessly.

The more Andrew heard, the angrier he beca. Now he understood what Elara ant when she said those words on the call.

"Mom! How can you say that? Is our Lloyd family so cheap that you had to go and threaten her parents like that! Do you not trust my capabilities at all?" Andrew asked.

Sophia’s eyes softened at his words, and she opened her mouth to tell Andrew she trusted him, but before she could do that, Elara walked forward, grabbed the vase placed on the table, and slamd it hard in the middle of it.

Her actions shocked everyone, leaving them speechless as Elara looked at Sophia with pure fury.
