Everything seed silent and serene for a couple of days. It was too quiet.

Elara, who had been getting used to chaos and ss, found it weird.

From her experience, calm and peace weren’t sothing she was accustod to; the words she would use to describe her life, not when she went through so much recently.

And thus, she anxiously checked her phone for news, unsure whether she had missed sothing or was simply unaware of it.

And she indeed was.

Life was chaotic. But not for her, but for soone completely unexpected.

In the Lloyd’s mansion, Carla grabbed the nearest vase and hurled it across the hall on the marble floor, making it shatter just like her pride did when Noah called her today.

"Ahh!" She pulled her hair in frustration.

Sophia Lloyd looked at her daughter, worried that she might wake Elder Lloyd, who was resting on the first floor.

Though the walls of his room were soundproof, she still felt scared. He didn’t like Carla’s behavior and blad her for her daughter’s actions.

If he saw Carla throwing a tantrum like this, she would surely get an earful from him.

"Carla, sweetheart, you need to calm down. There must be a mistake," Sophia said.

Carla paused and looked at her mother, anger flaring in her eyes.

"Is there anything stupid written on my face, Mom? Do you think I am overreacting? It’s true! They kicked out of the agency. I worked on that tour for months, and now it’s gone. I am left with nothing!" Carla said, tears of frustration rolling down her cheeks, her makeup a complete ss.

Sophia pressed her lips into a thin line.

Carla has been screaming and throwing things angrily since she returned from the agency that called her in the morning, the first thing.

Though it was hard to decipher her sentences amid her screams, Sophia could understand a few things.

For so reason, Carla’s agency, owned by Noah, suddenly dropped her as their artist. They didn’t even care about the contract breach and said they were ready to pay her for the damages, but under no circumstances would they work for her.

It was hard to understand why sothing like this happened so suddenly.

"I know what you are saying is true, but it doesn’t make any sense at all. Maybe there was a miscommunication," Sophia said.

Carla shook her head before she sat on the sofa, covering her face with her hands in frustration.

"It’s all over, Mom. He said it to my face. They no longer wish to represent . I am done. They cancelled the tour and are even refunding the ticket buyers. I boasted so much about this concert to my friends. How will I ever face them as a failure? I don’t know why—" Carla stopped talking when her mind started to connect dots.

No. There was no way it happened out of nowhere.

Didn’t she et Elara in the company that day? What if that woman ratted her out to the director, and that was why he dropped her as an artist completely, without leaving her any hope?

They went so far as to say they didn’t care if she signed with anyone else. Her fake talent was useless to them, and they couldn’t care less about her fading, ugly beauty.

A new wave of tears brimd in Carla’s eyes because of frustration.

"Mom, I finally understand. It’s because of Elara. She is behind this. I saw her there a couple of days ago. What would a useless person like her be doing in a place like that?" Carla asked.

When Sophia heard this, she felt anger take over her. She never liked that woman in the first place.

Many influential people had wanted to marry their daughter to their son, but because of the constant pestering from that wretched, poor girl who won their father’s heart, Sophia lost the chance to see her son marry a rich and elegant lady.

Instead, he was stuck with that useless, good-for-nothing girl.

"I never thought Elara would stoop so low. How dare she try to ruin my daughter’s life?" Sophia gritted her teeth, picked up her car keys and purse, and left the house.

She drove straight to her son’s house, hoping to see Elara and teach that good-for-nothing witch who bewitched her father-in-law into becoming her son’s wife a good lesson.

After driving for so ti, she cut the engine before her son’s house, her anger only flaring when she saw a maid working in the garden.

What was a maid doing here? Hadn’t she fired all the maids from the house since Elara used to take care of everything? Don’t tell her Elara dared to hire a maid!

The thought that the woman not only ratted on her daughter but also tried to disrespect her like this made Sophia exhale sharply.

Without wasting a second, she called the maid and was about to ask her where the hell that witch was when she heard the sound of tires screeching.

She turned around and saw it was Andrew’s car. She walked forward to complain about what Elara was up to when she saw Beatrice stepping down from the shotgun seat.

Sophia looked at her son with mild surprise. Why? Because, as far as she knew, Elara, that wicked witch, would never let them be in the sa car without causing a scene of complaining about it to Andrew’s grandfather.

"Mom? What are you doing here?" Andrew asked as he continued towards the entrance.

Sophia followed suit.

"It’s because of Carla. I ca to talk to Elara," Sophia said.

Andrew’s steps faltered briefly.

He looked at his mother, confused. "To see Elara?"

Though his family didn’t particularly hate the girl because of her grandfather’s ultimate backing, they weren’t really fond of her either.

"Didn’t I tell you guys? She isn’t here. She has gone to her friend’s house," Andrew said.

Sophia raised her brows at his words.

"Gone for so long? Does she not care about her ho at all? What about your als? Who is handling all that? I can’t believe she’s so irresponsible. I told your grandfather that girl was good for nothing," Sophia said.

As Sophia said things like that, Andrew suddenly rembered coming to freshly cooked als, ironed clothes, a clean ho, everything at and clean.

The way she used to rush to the door just to greet him with a big, happy smile and say how much she missed him, so that he would acknowledge her presence in the house and just look at her.

The thought made Andrew look at the large gates of his house, and he felt an irritated feeling bubbling in his heart.

"It’s alright. She used to stay stuck at ho all the ti," Andrew said, his voice cold and brooding.

Sophia looked at her son and quickly changed her tone.

"Of course, Andrew. I am sure you had gotten bored with seeing her face all the ti. It’s good she is gone for so ti. You can enjoy so peace and —" Sophia looked at Beatrice, who smiled politely as soon as the lady looked at her.

"Will you be staying for dinner?" Andrew asked, wanting to do nothing more than freshen up and relax in his room.

"If that’s not a problem..." Sophia stopped when she rembered why she was there in the first place.

"Wait. I was here to et Elara because she did sothing unforgivable this ti, Andrew. Do you know that Carla’s agency, Dream Love Enterprises, has dropped her as a talent? They sent a termination contract and said they won’t let her sing under their na?" Sophia said.

Andrew quirked his brows. That was indeed surprising, given that a couple of days ago, Abo Carla had asked him to talk to Noah and Producer Li to let her sing in that drama.

If Noah were planning sothing like that, he would have told him about it or at least hinted, no?

"And it’s all because of Elara," Sophia added, her words surprising Antonio even more.

What did she say? Did Elara cause Carla’s downfall? But how?
