Now reading: Chapter 57: Plan to kill Elara from The Ex-Wife's Revenge: Rise of the Real Heiress., a Romance novel by AngelinaBhardawaj.

"Hey, what was it all about?" Elara asked as soon as she walked around the table and sat on the seat before George.

She was on her way ho because the director wanted to treat all the winning participants to dinner, and she wanted to be dressed appropriately, not in jeans like she was.

"Sit down. Even when you are back, we barely get ti to speak to each other and have a proper al." George crossed his hand.

Elara chuckled at his words before looking at Antonio and signaling for him to sit with them.

"No, Miss Elara. How can I?" Antonio shook his head, a bit embarrassed because he didn’t usually sit with his boss to eat.

However, Elara made a habit of eating with him whenever she was having a al and he was around.

"Sit," George ordered Antonio, and this ti the man didn’t say anything.

"What happened to your fists? Did sothing happen?" George asked before looking at Elara for an explanation.

"I got hurt during training," Antonio lied straight through his teeth. Elara arched her brows at his blatant lie but didn’t interrupt.

"You wanted to talk about sothing," Elara repeated.

"Yeah, about that..." George told her everything about how he was having dinner with an artist who wanted to give them the project of her dream mansion when Carla approached them.

She wanted so help against Daniel and thought he was the only one who could help because of their reputation.

The more Elara heard, the more surprised she beca.

However, rather than reacting, she ordered sothing to eat for herself and Antonio, leaving George to order his own, and the latter rolled his eyes.

Once the waiter left, she leaned back, curiosity written all over her face.

"I didn’t know our company had started to develop mansions too," Elara comnted.

George cleared his throat.

"About that. It’s my new subsidiary in interior designing." He explained.

Elara nodded. That made much more sense, but what she didn’t understand was why he was asking her about Carla.

He was well aware of how that girl was.

"If you want to help her, you are free to do so. It’s your personal opinion," Elara said, looking away.

George’s pupils dilated before his eyes moistened a little, making him clear his throat.

Why? Because it had been so long, Elara finally acted this way; she was angry with him, like she wanted him to take her side, a bit bratty, and a bit more familial.

It had been so long since he saw this side of her, annoyed over the thought that soone close to her wouldn’t take her side.

"So it wouldn’t matter if I help her?" George asked, teasing her even more.

Elara rolled her eyes.

"Whatever," she said with a huff, crossing her hands over her chest.

George chuckled at her actions before shaking his head.

As much as he wanted to tease her, he didn’t want her to get any wrong impressions either.

"Who said I want to help her? The only reason I am ntioning it is that we can take advantage of this opportunity. I can pretend to help her, and when things are in her favor, I’ll back off. This will leave her with nothing," George said.

"I haven’t forgotten what she said to you that day. And if she said so much before everyone, just how much did she use to bully you alone? The thought alone makes my blood boil," he added.

Elara looked at her brother and chuckled before shaking her head.

She took a sip of the water before shaking her head in amusent again.

"What? Do you think I can’t pull it off?" George almost looked offended.

Elara grinned at him.

"Brother, you don’t have an evil bone in your spine. So don’t act like one. I know you want to help in this revenge, but it’s mine. Let do it," she said.

George pouted like he had just been scolded and told that he couldn’t do sothing that he had been preparing so long for, which made Elara chuckle even more.

"You didn’t even hear my perfect plan. I had everything sorted," George said.

Elara looked at Antonio, who was sitting there like a quiet lamb, not wanting to disturb their conversation.

"What do you think?" Elara asked.

Antonio - "..."

He looked at his boss, swallowing hard.

Honestly, he partially agreed with Miss Elara on the part where they all knew he wouldn’t be able to pull it off because he couldn’t act to save his life. He would snap at the girl and might give in sooner than he thought.

But he disagreed with the part where Miss Elara said that he didn’t have an evil bone in his spine. Why? He himself witnessed how angry George was on the day Elara returned, and he learned how much she had suffered.

Honestly, if they weren’t in this country where laws are so strict, he would’ve definitely killed Andrew by now.

"I think we should trust Miss Elara," Antonio said, and George glared at the man harder.

"Seriously? You are going to take her side? Don’t forget I am your boss," George said.

"But she is my primary boss right now," Antonio countered.

"But don’t forget who made her your primary boss."

"She even feeds good food."

Elara chuckled at their bantering, supporting her face on her fists as she looked at them.

This was good. This felt good.

At the sa ti, Carla was throwing a tantrum in the apartnt where Beatrice used to stay, which they had temporarily gone to because it was near the restaurant they would be dining at later.

"I can’t believe it, Beatrice. How could my own brother regard like this? He asked to apologize to that pathetic bitch! That lowly life who doesn’t even deserve to be in the sa league as us is competing with us for the sa role," Carla shouted, pacing back and forth in the room.

This was beyond humiliating, and what was even more humiliating was the way she said thank you. Thank you for what?! That pathetic bitch probably just said that to insult her even more.

To Carla, Elara was insufferable earlier, but after she rejected writing lyrics for her, she held no other purpose.

"Honestly, you have no idea how happy I am that my brother is finally divorcing that bitch. I know he is keeping it secret from the family because he doesn’t want to worry our grandfather, but it’s good. As long as she is out, I am happy." Carla clenched her fists.

Beatrice kept her mouth closed, just watching the girl lose her mind and take out her anger.

"Are you just going to sit there and do nothing? Don’t you want to beco Lloyd’s daughter-in-law? I know you still love my brother after everything. Do you think sitting here like this is going to take you anywhere?" Carla scoffed.

Beatrice blinked her eyes innocently.

"But what can I do?" She asked.

Carla shook her head.

"Get Elara out of the way, of course. Elara fell in love with my brother and worked hard to appease my grandpa, and look where she is now. You won’t get anything if you keep sitting here," Carla said.

Beatrice nodded at Carla, mimicking a sad expression.

"I don’t know what to do to get Elara out of my way. Even if Andrew approves of , your grandpa would never approve. He didn’t four years ago either." Beatrice wiped a fake tear from under her eyes.

Carla’s expression softened a little.

She looked at Beatrice and couldn’t help but think the girl was quite quick-witted; she was rather dumb about herself.

"You are quite efficient in everything you watch, but it would be good if you started watching so movies too," Carla comnted.

"What do you an?" Beatrice appeared confused.

"Don’t you get it? I said, ’Get Elara out of the way.’ Who will my grandpa vouch for if she is dead? Since it’s clear that Elara hasn’t returned ho because of the divorce, she is obviously living alone sowhere. Hire so n to do your work," Carla said.

Beatrice pretended to widen her eyes before she stood from the couch and walked to the table to drink water.

As she walked, she pressed the stop button on the recording of whatever Carla had just said, then turned with a smile.

"You know what? You are right. I was dumb not to understand it earlier. Elara needs to get out of the way. I know a man just perfect for the job," Beatrice said.

Carla nodded.

"You finally understood what I ant. I can’t bear the sight of that woman. It’s better if it happens sooner. I don’t want to keep seeing her at the production. Just the sight of her ruins my day," Carla said.

"Okay. You have talked enough. Let’s get ready for dinner now. You are not really thinking about joining in the sa dress, right?" Beatrice asked.

Carla quickly nodded and walked to Beatrice’s room to see if she could choose a dress or needed a maid to bring sothing from her house.
