Cael stood up from his seat.

’There will be introductory classes this afternoon.’

Although skipping them wouldn’t cause any real trouble, he decided to at least take a look.

With that in mind, he walked out of the ceremonial hall.

The academy grounds were expansive.

Large academic buildings stood in clean rows, their designs simple but imposing. Smooth stone walls. Tall windows. Wide staircases that could accommodate hundreds of students at once.

’These are... first-year academic buildings?’

Farther in the distance, he noticed six separate structures standing slightly apart from the main complex.

’Those must be the first-year dormitories.’

Students moved everywhere. Purple uniforms filled the pathways.

So headed toward the academic halls. Others went toward what appeared to be the cafeteria building, judging by the crowd entering it.

Cael didn’t feel like eating.

Instead, he found a bench under the shade of a large tree and sat down.

A faint breeze brushed past him.

’This place feels familiar.’

’Wait... isn’t this the sa bench I sat on after the entrance exam?’

A small smirk appeared.

’We are fated then.’

His gaze shifted back toward the dormitory area.

This year’s first-year intake exceeded 2,500 students.

Among them, the top fifty were granted special personal training rooms.

As rank forty-two, he would naturally receive one.

A thought surfaced.

’Should I dispel my clones and resummon them inside my personal room?’

’That would be safer, right?’

’Yes. Let’s do that.’

’As long as I don’t invite anyone in, it should be fine.’

He paused.

’...On second thought, what if soone barges in?’

The chances were low. But not zero.

Cael shook his head lightly. He was overthinking.

In the worst-case scenario, he could simply dispel them. It wasn’t as if five drops of blood were difficult to spare.

’Anyway, as long as I’m careful enough, no one is going to find out my secrets.’

JINXED IT

-Step...

-Step...

Hearing soft footsteps approach, Cael lifted his gaze casually, but the mont he saw who it was, he stiffened, and his mind went into overdrive.

’What is she doing here?’

Standing before him was none other than Seraphina V. Hale.

The Vice Principal of Everbright Academy.

...

But before their conversation begins, let’s rewind to earlier this morning.

In the Vice Principal’s office.

Seraphina sat in her chair, slowly sipping her coffee.

~ting ~ting ~la~

Her mobile rang.

She raised an eyebrow, accepted the call, and placed it on speaker.

A familiar voice echoed through the room.

"It’s been a while, Little Sera... or should I call you the Crimson Butcher?"

Seraphina paused for a few seconds before recognizing the voice.

"Is that you... Professor David?"

The other party chuckled lightly.

"I am no longer a professor, you know. I am now a Guild Master."

It was indeed Elowyn’s father, David Strix.

Seraphina smirked slightly.

"Well, to what do I owe the honor of receiving a personal call from Guild Master David Strix?"

"I have a small request. I hope you’ll look into it."

"Oh? I’m intrigued. Go on."

"I suspect a certain student has undergone a second awakening and is keeping it secret."

Seraphina lost so of her interest. She took another sip of coffee before replying.

"Just a suspicion? Sorry to disappoint you, Guild Master. I am not the type to pry into students’ private matters."

"I know. But what if you have the student’s mother’s permission?"

That made her pause.

"Fine. Give the student’s na. And your reasoning."

"Caelir Vayne."

There was a brief silence before he continued.

"His rank rose from [Iron 2] to [Silver 1] within a single week."

Seraphina’s eyes sharpened slightly.

"Interesting. Caelir Vayne... don’t tell !"

"Yes. He is Martha’s son."

Seraphina leaned back in her chair.

"I see. Professor Martha’s son."

She tapped her finger lightly against the desk.

"Very well. I’ll look into it."

The call ended shortly after.

Seraphina set her phone down and accessed the academy database.

She reviewed Caelir Vayne’s application, his entrance exam footage, and his recorded rank.

In the application, his rank was listed as [Iron 2].

In the exam footage, she saw him casually state that his servant had made a mistake and that his true rank was [Silver 1].

That alone confird David’s suspicion had rit.

But it still wasn’t enough to personally seek him out.

She exhaled softly.

"Sigh... since this concerns Professor Martha, I suppose I should take a look."

And that brought us back to the present.

...

Seraphina looked at the silver-haired boy standing before her.

His violet eyes reminded her of Professor Martha, who had once been her instructor.

She could clearly sense it.

The boy was extrely nervous and shocked.

Parting her lips slightly, she asked in a casual tone,

"State your na. Your class na and its rank. And your progression rank."

Cael’s already overactive mind began racing, trying to understand why she was asking those specific questions.

He had no intention of courting danger.

So, he answered.

"My na is Caelir Vayne. My class na is ’Tempest Duelist.’ Its rank is (A). My progression rank is [Silver 1]."

Seraphina nodded inwardly.

His words matched the application records.

Then sothing unexpected happened, to which both of them were caught off guard.

...

[SS-Rank Skill: Copy Activated]

[Do you wish to copy the S-Rank Skill: Wrong Eye?]

[Yes] [No]

...

An interface suddenly appeared before Cael.

At the sa ti, Seraphina also received an interface prompt.

...

[S-Rank Skill: Wrong Eye Activated]

[Analyzing the lie...]

[Converting lie into truth...]

["My na is Caelir Vayne. My class na is ’Iridescent Monarch.’ Its rank is (SSS). My progression rank is [Silver 1]."]

...

Cael’s pupils shrank.

Seraphina’s expression stiffened ever so slightly.

Cael: Eh?

Seraphina: Eh?

For a brief second, both of them shared the sa thought.

’What in the hell is going on?’
