Cael imdiately jumped away from the pillar as it was bombarded with attacks from various directions.
Fortunately, Cael had already sensed the incoming attacks.
But the worst was yet to co.
The battle had only just begun.
Cael was now surrounded from all directions. More than twenty Silver rankers and fifty Iron rankers were closing in on him, not to ntion the old man, who was a Gold ranker.
"Oh fuck."
Escape. He had to escape.
With that in mind, he bolted away, using wind to enhance his speed.
All the rankers moved instantly. Fortunately, the old man did not seem interested in chasing him.
Five Silver rankers quickly blocked Cael’s path.
Cael drew his sword and imdiately used,
’Gale Weave, First Form: Dancing Wind Slash.’
Instantly, a wind slash shot toward the five Silver rankers.
But just as it reached them, it suddenly vanished.
The slash abruptly changed direction midway and struck the enemies on the opposite side, killing several of them instantly.
The Silver rankers were confused. The expected attack never ca.
Then they noticed the corpses lying behind them.
Realizing that the devil had used a trick, they imdiately followed the trail of blood.
Cael didn’t stop running. His mind was a ss.
He had already sent all the information to the main body.
’What should I do now?’
’I can’t dispel myself, nor can I fight that many rankers.’
Cael finally escaped from the building.
He ran through the district and tried to hide himself.
Just then, he felt countless gazes fall upon him.
Cold sweat ran down his spine as he slowly turned back and saw them.
The civilians of the district.
n, won, children, and the elderly.
They had surrounded him from all directions.
All of their eyes were glowing red.
Just then, he recalled the old man’s words.
’A god who sees all... A god who knows all... A god whose power knows no limit.’
’Don’t tell ... this so-called god can control people?’
Cael hesitated. Should he just kill these civilians and escape?
Sure, Cael wasn’t a saint. But he wasn’t insane either.
At that mont, Cael stopped using his disguise skill. It was nothing but a waste of mana now.
Hidden among the civilians were the rankers.
More than thirty spells were launched toward him.
If Cael dodged, the civilians would take the hit.
Cael was montarily caught in a dilemma.
But that mont was enough for the spells to reach him.
At the last second, Cael raised a wind barrier and blocked the attacks.
When the smoke cleared, Cael was kneeling on one knee, breathing heavily.
He had almost no mana left.
One of the Silver rankers approached him and said,
"You have two choices: co with us... or die."
Cael’s expression darkened as he unwillingly followed them.
But behind that dark expression, a tiny smirk ford on his lips.
...
anwhile,
Mira, Edwin, and Aria were also stopped by hundreds of civilians.
They didn’t know what action to take.
After all, they had never even killed criminals before, let alone innocent people.
Mira gritted her teeth and spoke through the microphone,
"We are being stopped by civilians. It seems they have the power to hypnotize people."
"Be careful. We will sohow find a way to get to you."
...
On the other side,
Kira and Luke were secretly moving toward the destination, avoiding the civilians.
"I understand. You two be careful."
Luke said to Mira before sighing.
The situation had escalated beyond control in just a few hours.
His eyes sharpened as he turned to Kira.
"Tell about the enemy."
Kira hesitated for a mont before she began speaking while running.
"I don’t know much about him either, but..."
"He is a sadist who can control others."
"Not only that, but he can also see and hear what the people under his control see and hear."
"But the last ti he appeared, he was [Diamond 3], and that was three hundred years ago. Right now, his power should have eroded and decreased with ti."
"If my guess is correct, that guy is probably performing rituals to regain vitality."
"And you said the disguiser told you about being a vampire, right? Perhaps he wanted your attention on while he completes today’s ritual."
"And that disguiser may be vampires or simply be soone under that sadist’s control."
"So, if we join hands... We may even be able to kill him."
Just as she finished speaking, they heard,
-CLAP -CLAP -CLAP
Three figures stood in front of them. All of them had Luke’s face.
One of them clapped slowly.
"Well, well, well... If it isn’t the half-blood mongrel bitch. We were hoping the two of you would fight to the death. But... tch. What a disappointnt."
Kira took out her spear.
"You should go. I will catch up."
Luke didn’t say anything.
He imdiately moved forward.
Luke didn’t care about Kira and her origins. In his mind, reaching Cael was more important.
Those three disguisers didn’t even try to stop him. Neither do they have the ability to do so.
Kira’s eyes sharpened as she gritted her teeth.
"You..."
"Do you know I only wanted to live peacefully? Ti and ti again, you vampires humiliated ."
"And now that I’ve finally left that goddamn place... I only wanted to live without regrets."
"But to think that a no-na vampire like you would dare stand against ."
"Prepare to face the consequences of your actions, you lowly bloodsuckers."
...
anwhile,
The controlled guards and vampires escorted Cael back to the building.
The children were nowhere to be seen.
The old man still sat in his chair, staring at Cael as he mocked him,
"Do you really think you can escape under the watchful eyes of our God?"
Cael shrugged.
"It seems your god can control people. Hypnosis, maybe?"
The old man shook his head.
"You are just a devil who trespassed."
"What do you know about the way of God?"
Then the old man raised his voice and shouted,
"How should we punish this devil?"
"KILL THE DEVIL!"
"KILL THE DEVIL!"
"KILL THE DEVIL!"
The crowd began shouting the words loudly.
The old man looked at Cael with a sinister smile, hoping to see despair in his eyes.
But instead, a smirk appeared on Cael’s lips.
He muttered quietly,
"The way of God, huh? Very interesting."
Cael removed his microphone and placed it inside his space pouch.
Then he tossed the pouch into the air.
Imdiately, every eye in the room followed the pouch as it fell back toward Cael’s hand.
But when they looked at him again, they were all shocked.
The old man’s smile froze as the chanting slowly stopped.
The person standing there had changed.
His clothes were different.
His exhausted expression had disappeared.
-DRIP -DRIP
Drops of water fell from his wet hair as if he had just washed his face.
It was Cael’s real body. He had swapped places with the Wind clone.
Cael looked at the shocked old man and said,
"Since you all call a devil..."
"Then let show you..."
"...the way of the Devil."
