As the morning sun rays welcod a new day, Cael reluctantly woke up from his bed.
It seed that even after his transmigration, he had kept his bad habit.
At least, that was what he thought.
Shaking his head, he went to freshen up.
Wearing a simple black, full-sleeve, neckless T-shirt coupled with white pants, Cael couldn’t help but take a few more glances at his own reflection, even with such a casual outfit.
As he walked down the stairs, his eyes paused on the person seated in a wheelchair; it was his mother, Martha.
"Tsk... tsk... why are you wearing such simple clothes?"
Cael raised an eyebrow and said,
"I’m going out to take a breather."
His steps didn’t stop as he walked past his mother. Just as he neared the entrance, he heard Martha’s words.
"Good luck on your date, Cael. I’m looking forward to good news."
Cael paused for a brief mont, but he continued acting as if he hadn’t heard her.
Although he appeared calm, he couldn’t help but wonder, how did his mother had learned about his date?
The only answer he could think of was that Elowyn had told her.
’Seriously... how did they get so close?’
...
Skyspire
It is a famous scenic location perched at the peak of a massive mountain, where visitors can look down on drifting clouds and vast landscapes.
Thanks to its pleasant sumr atmosphere, it is one of the world’s top tourist spots, especially popular among couples.
To reach the top of the mountain, one could only do so by walking or using the service-line lifts.
However, many prefer walking, as they can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
Currently, Cael was climbing the stairs, his mind preparing how to greet his fiancée.
Yes, he was nervous.
Although "he" and Caelir had rged, it was still his first eting with his potential future partner.
Not to ntion his sudden growth, which was very suspicious.
Cael had already prepared answers, but he couldn’t help feeling worried.
What if... Elowyn realized he wasn’t the real Cael?
Though that was very unlikely.
Cael quickly scrapped those thoughts. Instead of worrying uselessly, he should ntally prepare himself.
After an hour of walking, he finally reached the top.
Cael’s eyes widened as he saw endless clouds bathed in a golden glow. It was beautiful yet srizing.
As the refreshing feeling sank in, a breeze passed by, making his hair slightly ssy.
A small smile ford on his lips.
...
On the other side,
While Cael was enjoying his mont, Elowyn was facing a crisis that might ruin her love life.
Inside the restaurant where Cael and Elowyn had agreed to et, on the open floor, Elowyn was seated at a table.
Across from her sat a couple.
They were Cael’s half-brother, the protagonist, Lucian Vayne.
And beside him was his fiancée, Mirena Virella.
"Why are you here?"
Elowyn asked coldly.
But the others didn’t care about her attitude, having long since grown used to it.
Originally, they had agreed to et at Mira’s house to discuss their plans, but Elowyn had canceled that eting.
When Mira inquired why, all she learned was that Elowyn was going to Skyspire.
Mira, ever playful, decided to go to Skyspire together with Lucian just to ss with Elowyn.
Although Lucian didn’t want to do that, he was forced ...or rather, "threatened" to tag along.
Elowyn appeared calm, even as she felt the urge to kill whoever had told Mira this information, unaware that it was her own maid who had spoken.
Of course, she wouldn’t actually kill her. She would simply teach her maid a lesson.
Mira gave Elowyn a teasing smile and asked,
"So... tell us, Elowyn. Why did you cancel our eting and co here?"
Elowyn didn’t answer her question, while many thoughts ran through her calm mind for the first ti in a long while.
’What should I do?
It’s been a long ti since Cael called . He wanted to et , but I ruined it. Will he get angry and start avoiding ?
What if he dumps ? Or hits ? Or gets a new girlfriend and calls an unfaithful woman?’
...Okay. She was overthinking it.
Even if Cael really did get angry, he wouldn’t dare hit her or call her an unfaithful woman.
Elowyn continued to ignore Mira’s questions, her eyes alternating between the ti on her mobile and the stairs.
Then she shifted her gaze back to Luke and Mira and said in a serious tone,
"You two should leave. I have an important and sudden appointnt today, which is why I canceled our eting. If you get it, then get lost quickly."
Mira stared at Elowyn with her eyes wide open.
Not because of her reasoning.
It was the first ti since their childhood that she had seen Elowyn speak so many words in a single flow.
Not to ntion, Elowyn telling her to get lost.
But Mira didn’t take it to heart; if anything, she felt even more motivated to see the person who had an appointnt with Elowyn.
Luke closed his eyes. He wasn’t interested in the topic, but he was curious nonetheless.
Just then, his alarm bells rang violently. His battle intuition, honed through countless battles, suddenly screams at him to look back.
Opening his eyes, Luke turned his head toward the stairs.
Seeing Luke’s gaze, Mira and Elowyn also turned to look in the sa direction.
They could hear people muttering nearby.
"He’s so... handso."
"Should I ask him out?"
Just then, the trio saw a figure walking up the stairs.
A boy in his late teens, his silver hair a ss, violet eyes flickering as he searched for soone.
Then the boy’s eyes paused on Elowyn before shifting toward Lucian and Mirena.
Slowly, he walked toward the group.
He sat beside Elowyn, picked up an unopened can of Coke, took a sip, and said,
"Long ti no see, everyone."
It was Caelir Vayne.
