Few monts before the Wilson attack...
While Wilson dashed forward and jumped ahead, Lucas's figure lted into shadow and hid nearby the back of the platform closer to the Altar and he started to prepare for the sneak attack, in case Wilson failed again and poured out his mana onto the sword.
Lucas sohow felt that Wilson's attack is going to fail again so he decided to prepare for a surprise sneak attack from behind.
And true to his predictions, Wilson failed to get through the Lich defence once again.
Lich isn't just summoners of undead but also a mage and can use different types of spells.
Though the last spell that seems to paralyze Wilson surprised Lucas and he moved and used shadow steps to appear behind the shadow of the throne where Lich was sitting.
The throne was already broken and was about to collapse, Lucas looked for the crack and decided to strike as the Lich was distracted by taking care of Wilson.
Lucas pulled his sword towards the left waist and poured his mana and his sword started to heat up crazily.
Crimson mana burst forth from his body, the lich felt the mana but before he could react, Lucas pulled his sword and sliced with a quick draw.
His sword cut through the throne-like butter along with the Lich that was sitting on it and passed through as if the knife was slicing the bread.
With a squeaking sound, a highly concentrated beam of light erged from Lucas's sword as it cut through the throne before him.
The sword light flashed as it cut through the wall and the ground and its arc even reached the high ceiling and a deep cut ford in it.
BANG!
The ground before the throne was instantly pulverised and turned broke into pieces and everything that the sword light touched started to burn even the ground was spilt alert and seed to lt into lava followed by a heavy deafening bursting sound of crackling and a huge shockwave spread through and shoved away from the undead that cos in contact with it.
Lucas looked at the throne that slid off along with the Lich head, he didn't want to take any more chances and stepped on the Lich skull and crushed it.
CRACK!
With a cracking sound the skull of the Lich was crushed brutally.
Lucas didn't even leave the remaining bones and crushed everything.
Wilson, Briana and Lora finally breathed the air of relief and fell to the ground as they were so exhausted to do anything now.
For a mont, they felt as if their heart had co up to their throat and thought all of them were either going to die or be prisoned in the dungeon until the staff mbers decided to interfere.
Lucas dragged his tired body towards the team that was ford due to the need of the mont.
Lucas felt his leg muscles had been stretched a little and he might get a hamstring.
Though his condition was not quite good, it was not that severe either.
He had suffered a few fractures in his backbones, a few of his ribs had also broke and he had a broken finger in his right hand due to colliding with 5-Star Death Knight.
Lucas coming near the trio, sat on the ground and took a deep breath and muttered"It was quite a tough battle."
"Yeah, it was really dangerous." Lora nodded
"Still, it was quite fun, isn't fun? " Wilson spoke gleefully.
"You just shut up dumbo, " Briana scolded and reprimanded Wilson and added"Do you know how frightened how I was when you attacked like a maniac? I felt betrayed and thought, your previous show of friendship was just a facade and you just wanted to get rid of "
"Sorry, I... I" Wilson squeaked like a mouse as no words co from his mouth.
"You don't need to bla him too much. It wasn't his fault, to begin with. With his maniac and fighting nature, he was just easy prey for the lich to control the prey. " Lucas explained with a serious expression.
Both Briana and Lora made an awe expression and thought Lucas was quite amazing.
"Lucas your last move was quite cool, you looked like a hero who saved the day, " Lora spoke as he looked at Lucas with a mixed feeling of respect and admiration.
"Yeah, you are cool and on top of that your calm personality makes you a good leader. I don't like praising others but you are quite sothing and thanks for freeing from that lich or whoever controlled . " Wilson spoke respectfully.
Both Briana and Lora follow the notions and thank Lucas for saving them.
Lucas felt that the atmosphere was quite pleasing and he kind of liked people like this.
These noble kids aren't arrogant and haughty like most others and are quite easy to mix with.
As they chatted, the unconscious students started to wake up one by one and the situation started to beco chaotic.
"Why did they wake up suddenly?" Wilson asked as he thought what the hell was going on.
Lucas sighed as he sohow expected the situation.
"It may be because we got rid of the Lich" Lucas spoke.
"What the dying of Lich had got to do with this?" Briana asked as he thought of all possible reasons.
"Have you looked at the room carefully, isn't looked like a boss room," Lucas asked raising his brows.
"Yeah, no that you ntioned it. It sure looks like this." Wilson spoke as he scanned the room again.
Out of many dungeons that appeared and close when the monsters are cleared, there are special dungeons like Sanctum of Despondence.
Dungeons like this generally have many architectural structures and have a boss room inside them. Clearing all the monsters and boss monster isn't enough to clear the dungeon.
These types of dungeons have dungeon cores and unless one can take control of it, the dungeon will not disappear.
Just like monster core which had concentrated mana, dungeons having their core had their mana supply and a new monster is spawned repeatedly at fixed intervals, there are also chances of their spawning increase if the dungeon core started to generate more mana.
Lucas concluded, unlike other dungeons where you will be eliminated directly after being killed. In Sanctum of Despondence, you will be transported to the boss monster room.
It may look like a shortcut but it does not. It may have been made like this cause the difficulty of this dungeon is quite high moreover who will defeat the boss monster had an advantage in taking the crystals over all others.
The students who woke up started to chatter first along themselves to get a hold of the things and as they looked around the room full of cracks, craters and many dead bodies of the skeleton and the slices throne along with the remains of Lich they concluded that the battle was over and soone cleared the boss room.
As their eyes fall on the crystal on the Altar their eyes started to shine sharply and finally, the peace didn't last long and war broke out for getting the crystal.
BANG!BANG!
BOOM!
As the students started to fight among themselves, Briana and looked at them sighed and her expression beca quite sorrowful.
Everyone looked at her and understood her sorrow.
"Are we not going to fight and get the crystal?" Wilson asked as he looked around and noticed that no one was gearing up.
"Is there nothing except muscle in your brain
pᴀɴda nᴏvel Just look at our condition. We can't even kill an insect in this state, you want to fight them who are seed too full with vigour and mana" Briana shouted at Wilson.
Wilson shrink back and lowered his head as he thought about what Briana had said, he was also too tired to lift his sword.
"Hey, why don't we take a potion and crush them" Wilson advised.
"You Pig!" Both Briana and Lora scread at the sa ti.
Lucas facepald and spoke, "If we take potions we will be disqualified even if we won."
Briana looked at the fight and muttered in a soft voice "Isn't unfair that they are reaping our hard work."
"No!"
Briana was startled by the voice and subconsciously closed her mouth as she didn't think that she said her words loudly.
"No, one is going to reap our hard work" Lucas spoke with a stern expression and his eyes showed brightly.
Following he took out four crystals from his pocket.
"Whoaaaaaaaaa!" Everyone scread in joy and asked, "Lucas how did you do this?"
"I an, when did you take it?"
"I sneaked near the altar and picked it up before, while you were getting your ass kicked by the Lich" Lucas spoke and everyone except Wilson burst into laughter.
Lucas threw them their share.
Catching the crystal, they looked at it for a second and then looked at Lucas.
Seeing, the crystal they wanted to cry out of happiness as they were finally going to get out of this hellhole.
"Let's leave" Lucas spoke as he poured the mana into the crystal the crystal shone brightly and a beam of light fell on Lucas.
And as he appeared outside the dungeon due to being in the dark for a few hours, the sudden light of the sun blinded him and before he could adjust he felt soone hugging him, no in fact many were grappling him with a tight hug.
"Noooooooooo!Stop...asshole" Lucas yelled and his voice reverberated in the area along with the faint cracking sound of his broken bones.
