Now reading: Chapter 1784 - 1881: 72 Seas from The Extreme Alchemist of the Mighty Cauldron, a Xuanhuan novel by The Eternal Green Lotus.

Vast darkness, no passage of time, only eternal rise and fall.

Fang Lin found himself here, like a lone boat drifting with the waves, or perhaps the only sliver of light in the boundless darkness.

Fang Lin had a strange feeling—if he remained here indefinitely, might he bee immortal?

This wasn’t impossible after all, as this place was beyond the reach of time, the end of time itself, where one wasn’t affected by the erosion of years.

But on second thought, if that were true, why wouldn’t Mo Shouhe choose to remain here forever? It seems that although this place is unaffected by time, hiding here to achieve immortality isn’t possible.

Who knows how much time had passed, Fang Lin’s consciousness had started to blur, yet his body shone with golden light, akin to a Buddhist Golden Body, but far stronger.

Boom!!!

Suddenly, a tremendously shocking sound echoed in his ears, like the collision of heaven and earth, and Fang Lin was swept into a vortex.

"What is happening now?" Fang Lin was helpless, unable to do anything, only allowing the darkness to propel him.

The view opened up before him, and Fang Lin fell from mid-air, plummeting into the water with a splash.

Emerging from the water, Fang Lin felt dazed; he had actually e out? And arrived in an unfamiliar place?

Looking around, Fang Lin found himself in a vast ocean, surrounded by nothing but water.

Leaping from the sea, Fang Lin operated his breath, keeping himself pletely dry; his cultivation and body remained unaffected.

"Could this already be the Ancient Era?" Fang Lin speculated with confusion and shock, unsure if he truly returned to the past.

Without acting rashly, Fang Lin flew towards a direction, seeking to discern where he had ended up.

Before long, Fang Lin saw a sizable island, and from above it emanated many auras, indicating habitation.

To avoid drawing too much attention or causing unnecessary trouble, Fang Lin concealed his aura, suppressing it to the level of a Spirit Bone.

Sure enough, as Fang Lin neared the island, a dozen gazes swept over him, surveying him thoroughly, without the slightest concern about him noticing.

Frowning slightly, Fang Lin deduced from those gazes that long-lived ones resided on the island, likely more than just a few.

Upon truly entering the island, Fang Lin saw it was filled with numerous cities, vast in scale, seemingly divided among several powers.

Seeing the clothing of the martial artists and the surrounding scenery, Fang Lin remained outwardly calm but was inwardly shocked.

For everything here shouldn’t exist tens of thousands of years later but in the Ancient Era, the time of Fang Lin’s past life.

With no doubt left, Fang Lin confirmed he was indeed in the Ancient Era, truly returning to his past life’s time.

Thinking about being in the Ancient Era, Fang Lin felt a tinge of excitement, for this was the era he truly longed for, not the later age where martial arts withered and alchemy Tao declined.

After making some inquiries, Fang Lin learned this place was called Ghost Return Island, governed by three island masters, each owning several cities.

Ghost Return Island belonged to one of the seventy-two seamasters, under the mand of Chi Lian Seamaster.

"So I’m on the territory of the seventy-two seamasters, but I remember the seventy-two seamasters had perished by the time I was born." After understanding the situation, Fang Lin became even more puzzled.

An awkward truth lay before Fang Lin: in this era, even his father, Fang Qingye, hadn’t been born.

Realizing this, Fang Lin was dumbfounded; returning to the past was one thing, but it seemed the era he returned to wasn’t quite right.

Furthermore, despite the wrong era, it could be considered a return, but how would Fang Lin return if he wished to go back?

With no clue, Fang Lin was anxious about the oute of Jin Zhulong’s and Mo Shouhe’s battle, as well as what he should do now.

"Have you heard? The Pill Saint Palace is recruiting young pill refiners from the seventy-two seas, offering them a chance to join and bee disciples."

"What? Such a good thing? How e I didn’t know?"

"Of course, you bumpkin wouldn’t know. The news just reached our island."

"What’s the situation exactly?"

"I’m not entirely sure, but it seems several seamasters secured a dozen spots from the Pill Saint Palace, allowing young pill refiners from the seventy-two seas to join."

"Only a dozen spots? Guess it’s good news for those high-ranking figures arranging for their descendants."

"You don’t know anything. The Pill Saint Palace is not a place you can enter through background or connections. Even a seamaster’s own son must pass the test to qualify."

"So, does that mean all young pill refiners in the seventy-two seas have a chance?"

"Exactly!"

····

Fang Lin inadvertently overheard a conversation between martial artists, his eyes brightening.

"An opportunity to join the Pill Saint Palace? Could this be my chance to bee a disciple there?" Fang Lin pondered silently.

Ultimately, Fang Lin was unsure of what he should be doing in the current era, which made him confused.

But now, hearing about the Pill Saint Palace recruiting young disciples on the seventy-two seas, Fang Lin felt this might be his opportunity. By entering the Pill Saint Palace, he could perhaps uncover more.

With this thought, Fang Lin decided to give it a try; having a goal was a good start.

The Pill Saint Palace was the pinnacle of alchemy Tao forces and an absolute benchmark in the Alchemy Tao World, with all pill refiners aspiring to it.

The seventy-two seas, albeit a significant force, were mere country bumpkins pared to the Pill Saint Palace, which didn’t originally allocate slots to them. It took many days of wheedling and many gifts from the seamasters for them to secure a dozen spots.

Yet, the Pill Saint Palace made it clear to the seventy-two seamasters that they didn’t want deadweights; they must recruit truly valuable young pill refiners.

This message was a deterrent against the seventy-two seas making covert arrangements for their descendants.
