"Put down the gun!"
Hearing this voice, Li Jie felt both startled and delighted. She was happy because Li Yan had indeed co to rescue her, but startled because it was so dangerous right now. Did he have a gun, and yet was still naively telling this assassin to put down his gun? It was an extrely risky move!
She really wanted to shout for him to leave quickly, but for so reason, she felt an imnse pressure surrounding her, making it extrely difficult to even move or speak.
At that mont, soone spoke before she could.
"Shouldn’t you be the one putting down the gun? I’m surprised and impressed that you used a human shield to block my shot just now. But I’m curious, what will you use to block my second shot? As soon as I pull the trigger, the girl behind the cabinet will be shot in the head. Do you believe that?" Christopher’s voice was full of mockery and excitent.
Li Jie was shocked once more. She was currently shielded by the cabinet and couldn’t see the direction of the door or Christopher. She could only guess the situation from their conversation. Even though it was cold winter, sweat began dripping from Li Jie’s forehead. In order to maintain quick movent, she was hiding behind the cabinet, remaining in a half-crouched position, which allowed her body to react and move rapidly. But now, it had beco a disadvantage since the foreigner couldn’t see through the cabinet and would surely assu her vital spots. To avoid his shots, perhaps lying on the ground without being noticed might be relatively safer.
However, if she really lay on the ground, it would an handing her fate over to luck. If the opponent kept shooting repeatedly or moved while shooting, she wouldn’t even have a chance to escape.
Right now, all she could hope for was that Li Yan could sohow hold the opponent at bay and possibly negotiate a temporary truce. But... where did Li Yan even get a gun? The one he pulled out might as well be a toy gun snatched from a child in the theater downstairs.

At that mont, Li Yan was standing at the doorway. He hadn’t concealed himself at all, instead dragging the unconscious young man with him. His original intention wasn’t to use a human shield but to exchange a life for a life, hoping there was a chance to swap for Li Jie, although the chances were slim. When he was coming up, he had already sensed Christopher’s murderous aura, confirming this was an even more dangerous operative than those in the afternoon.
Such figures naturally wouldn’t negotiate, as they wouldn’t care about the life and death of insignificant people. Besides, they were operatives from Si Country. The SIA developed personnel in Yun Country, but their deaths ant nothing to them.
He cautiously approached, waiting outside for an opportunity. But he hadn’t found a suitable chance, and instead, Christopher felt the pressure and fired prematurely.
To save Li Jie, Li Yan revealed himself directly! Because they hadn’t shut the door earlier, he used his right hand to lift the young man’s body and, upon appearing in the doorway, directly threw it in Li Jie’s direction!
Ordinary people would typically try to encircle Wei to save Zhao, choosing to attack the gunman to distract him. But Li Yan knew it was too late for that; he could only use this young man working for Si Country as a shield. He also knew that once he showed himself, there was no retreat, and he had to face the confrontation head-on, so he virtually multitasked, throwing the person with his right hand while simultaneously drawing his gun with his left!

"Wow! How did you figure that out?"
"You killed your man with that shot, and I am pointing at you, yet you don’t seem worried about at all, and you even have the mind to aim at the cabinet. Do you think you can shoot the person behind the cabinet and still turn back to kill ?"
Christopher’s earlier shot at Li Jie missed partly because she dodged quickly, partly because Li Yan threw in an obstacle, and partly because he noticed Li Yan’s ability to throw a person with one hand while drawing a gun with the other! This made him realize his earlier intuition and unease stemd from this person, and he wanted to see if this opponent could rival his skills.
For these reasons, his focus shifted to Li Yan, and he didn’t continue shooting at Li Jie.
"Care to try? If I’m faster, your lovely companion will die under my gun, possibly including you; if you win, I’ll die under your gun. If you want to save her life, you need to be at least as fast as ." Christopher’s face showed a provocative and challenging smile. His gun was pointed at the cabinet, but his gaze was at the doorway, not needing to aim, as if he could casually hit Li Jie.
