Chen Xiaoen rubbed her eyes forcefully, doubting that she had seen a ghost!
Today was her first day at her new job, but the nature of the work was essentially the sa. Strictly speaking, she had just changed environnts. She went from being a front desk receptionist at the Prince Hotel to the front desk receptionist at the Paradise Group Headquarters. Because she was still an intern, when everyone else was nervous and fearful, she gritted her teeth and persevered by comparing situations. Her performance over those two days was recognized by Miss Zhang, the group’s president, who personally transferred her to work at the headquarters.
Although it was still the sa front desk reception work, working at headquarters was clearly much more prestigious and had higher standards than at a hotel. But that’s not the most important thing; the most important thing was that she also wanted a change of environnt.
However, she never expected that the Li Yan from the research institute, whom she t at the Prince Hotel, would also be seen yesterday on the street and again on her first day of work today!
Watching that familiar figure pass through the lobby and walk to the elevator, Chen Xiaoen suspected she was seeing things. Li Yan was from the research institute; running into him on the street when not working made sense, but coming early in the morning to the Paradise Group Headquarters seed unlikely. She suspected that because she hadn’t faced them together yesterday, but sought help, they might have already left, so she kept this matter in mind and mistook the similar figure for Li Yan!
...
Thanks to the talented personnel in the human resources departnt, the Paradise Group Headquarters is predominantly staffed by won, and there were plenty of beautiful won. The receptionists’ quality was excellent. However, amidst green leaves, a flower would stand out, and among flowers, only a special one would catch the eye. Like the business developnt departnt having quite a few beauties, Li Yan usually doesn’t flirt with the front desk girls and hurries past today without noticing Chen Xiaoen there.
Having rested for three days, those movie project proposals Wen Qianyi gave him were only cramd through last night, and he was estimating whether Wen Qianyi would test him on them now.
"Li Yan..."
Following the sound, he saw Huang Ying waving him over and softly calling him.
"Hello," Li Yan walked over to see that she still didn’t look great. "Make sure to rest."
Huang Ying nodded and hurriedly asked, "I heard you were in a car accident? Are you alright?"
Li Yan turned around in a circle, "Isn’t this perfectly fine?"
Seeing Huang Ying’s hesitant look, Li Yan asked for her, "Is there sothing else you want to ask ?"
Huang Ying glanced around as if she was a secret agent making contact, then whispered, "That thod you told about that day..."
"Oh!"
"No, not that!" Huang Ying quickly turned red, afraid of being overheard, lowering her voice even more, "I an the other thod you talked about... did you put my story online?"
Li Yan had forgotten about this after the Prince Hotel incident, and her words reminded him. "If you don’t want to be supported, fundraising is also an option. Nowadays, raising funds isn’t easy; you must expand its impact."
Huang Ying said softly, "I know your intentions were good, I don’t bla you... I just wanted to say... thank you! Really, thank you very much!"
"Did a lot of money get donated?"
"No. Over the past two days, so kind-hearted people have co to the hospital to help us, but that’s not the most important thing. The most important thing is that a foreign charity foundation took notice; they contacted the hospital to confirm it was real and said they’d send soone to conduct a thorough investigation. If we qualify, they might fund taking my mom abroad for surgery."
Huang Ying was sowhat excited because of Li Yan’s suggestion, seeing a large glimr of hope.
"That’s great! Are you sure it’s not a scam?"
"The doctor said that the foundation translated as ’Mortal’ commits to helping ordinary people, especially the poor, and has a great reputation, helping many cases dostically. They didn’t contact directly; they liaised with the hospital, so it should be genuine. Moreover, even combined, my brother and I don’t have anything worthwhile for soone to impersonate a foundation to scam us."
Li Yan contemplated for a mont, "That’s really a good thing, congratulations. I also wish your mother a speedy recovery!"
"Really, thank you so much!" Huang Ying could only express her gratitude.
"Alright, you’ve said it several tis. All I did was post a candid photo of you online; it’s actually quite unkind. I’m off to work!" Seeing Wen Qianyi’s figure from afar, Li Yan quickly waved and went over.
...
"Car accident escape? Hid away for a few days and claid to have been in an accident, right!" Wen Qianyi had a smile but clearly didn’t believe the ssage he sent the previous night.
Li Yan looked innocent, "How could I hide it from the sharp-eyed Miss Wen? It’s absolutely true..." he added two words in his mind: really... kidding you.
Wen Qianyi stretched out her long forefinger and beckoned him over, "Really had a car accident, huh? Poor thing, co over and let check your injuries; if serious, I’ll approve your leave."
Seeing that she hadn’t called him after receiving the ssage that night, Li Yan knew she wasn’t that easily fooled. Hearing what she said, he showed a slightly ashad expression, "It’s not good... most of mine are internal injuries, not suitable for you to inspect."
However, her gentle smile didn’t change at all, her cherry lips slightly parted, "No problem, I don’t mind!"
What does a rogue fear? A more rogue-like one!
Upon hearing Wen Qianyi’s words, Li Yan awkwardly froze. He could only smile wryly and say, "I say, Supervisor Wen, can we not go overboard like this?"
Wen Qianyi’s lips curved into an attractive arc; she certainly wasn’t a female rogue nor genuinely wanted to check his fake injuries. She just wanted to suppress his montum, so he wouldn’t continue any mischief. "I can give you a chance, but you must make ands."
"Make what ands for what deeds?" Li Yan felt uneasy, thinking, at worst, more salary deducted. Nonetheless, after three days, he was bored too.
Wen Qianyi opened a cabinet, took out several movie project proposal books, "These are the ones I reviewed and deem have certain investnt value. I’ve already indicated my comnts. Deliver these back one by one, let them see my remarks. If they can manage, have them finalize the scripts and prepare more detailed proposals before coming to discuss with again."
"Okay. Running errands is my specialty!"
"What about yours?"
Li Yan pulled out the small portion assigned to him and handed it over, "Actually, I’ve made comnts too."
Wen Qianyi was a bit skeptical and imdiately opened to check. Indeed, there were comnts; very concise, direct, yet lacking in focus:
XX is too outdated, not suitable.
XXX is unknown, I’ve never heard of them.
XX is too ugly, sorry to the audience.
I don’t like this subject...
