1028: Chapter 1028: I Hear Fox Won Are Very Charming, Heh Heh…
In the stead bun shop, Carson Flores was enjoying his porridge and stead buns, the picture of relaxation.
Across from him sat Lilianna Norman, who had removed her veil.
She too was eating stead buns, but her movents were much more refined than Carson’s.
Although those in the Nascent Soul Realm could easily fast, Carson, having co from the Mortal Realm, enjoyed the pleasures of good food and the mortal world’s holy atmosphere.
Carson had spent a few days rebuilding the City Lord’s Mansion, activated the forr City Lord’s old followers, and restored the previous order.
After confirming the relevant laws and regulations, he had washed his hands of it.
Order had always existed; it simply lacked soone to ensure its stable enforcent.
He didn’t need to do anything; his re presence was like a Sea God’s calming needle, reassuring all the city’s residents.
Though he was the City Lord, he lived as though he were an ordinary person.
In the mornings, Carson would stroll to a nearby at bun shop, devouring several large at buns and sipping on a bowl of porridge.
During the day, Carson would confine himself to the City Lord’s Mansion, silently crafting elixirs, batch after batch.
These elixirs were usually neither particularly potent nor valuable.
After making them, having no use for them himself, Carson would have them distributed to the needy citizens, reportedly saving many lives.
In the evenings, he and Lilianna Norman would dine together, go for a walk, and then comfortably sleep through the night, dreaming sweetly until dawn.
Carson had never felt so leisurely in his life.
From his youth, he had always been busy, always striving to climb higher, to chase ahead.
Now, finally stopping to rest, he found it wonderfully comfortable!
“The rchant I had asked to gather information has co back.
Let us inquire later this evening,” he said.
Lilianna paused in her eating, then humd in agreent, “Alright.”
After finishing their al, the pair arrived at the Flying Boat dock, where a huge flying boat was moored.
The two of them landed on the bow of the flying boat, and its owner quickly ca out to greet them.
“Mr.
Damir, have you found anything about the information I asked you to look into?”
rchant Damir Stein was a fatty, his belly protruding as he smiled like a Maitreya Buddha.
“There are results!
Heh, luckily it was you asked.
If you had asked soone else, they definitely wouldn’t have been able to uncover such secret information…”
Carson chuckled, “What information?
Let’s hear it.”
Glancing at Lilianna, who was wearing a veiled hat and covered with a silk scarf, Damir lowered his voice and said, “The Demon Race is nearly turning upside down.
It’s said that their Holy Maiden was abducted by a Human Cultivator…”
Abducted?
Carson asked calmly, “Isn’t the Demon Race Holy Maiden very powerful?
Who’s strong enough to abduct her?”
Damir replied mysteriously, “It hasn’t been revealed officially, but I secretly gathered so intel.
I heard that the deed was done by the newly appointed Human Emperor, heh heh…”
The newly appointed Human Emperor?
The only ones who knew about his recognition by the Emperor Seal were Lilianna Norman and the old demon crone.
Lilianna had been by his side the entire ti.
With the Demon Race spreading such news, could it an that the old demon crone wasn’t dead?
Carson feigned curiosity, “That’s impressive.
Why would he abduct the Holy Maiden of the Demon Race?”
Damir answered carelessly, “Who knows?
The Holy Maiden of the Demon Race has a special status.
Maybe the new Human Emperor is planning to kill her to prevent her from becoming a threat to the Human Race in the future.”
“But it’s said that the Holy Maiden of the Demon Race is very beautiful, as delicate as a flower, and her deanor is like that of a fairy.
It’s just not known whether our new Human Emperor can bring himself to do it.
After all, heroes have a tough ti before beautiful won, and I heard that the Demon Race Holy Maiden is a fox spirit.
Fox spirits are always enchanting, soul-stirring, and on the bed, heh heh…”
Lilianna gritted her teeth and turned her head away; otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to resist punching him.
Carson fought back a laugh.
Mr.
Damir, you really have a big life, talking about the Holy Maiden like that in front of her, and she hasn’t even hit you yet…
Damir, unaware that he was stepping close to Ghost Gate, joked for a mont and then changed the subject: “Aside from the matter of the Holy Maiden, I heard about another big event…”
Carson’s heart skipped a beat, “What event?”
“I’ve heard that a certain big shot from the Demon Race has co back to life, soone even the Demon Emperor must bow to…”
The old demon crone has indeed not died!
Lilianna turned back, her gaze scorching as she stared at Damir, equally as shocked.
Wasn’t her Primordial Spirit almost shattered?
How was she still alive?
Carson inquired, “Who is it?
Soone so powerful that even the Demon Emperor, who’s been around for tens of thousands of years, has to bow to her?”
Damir whispered, “It’s said to be a male ancient powerhouse of the Demon Race, a middle-aged man.
I don’t know his na though.”
A man?
A middle-aged man?
Carson was taken aback for a mont, but then regained his composure—The old demon crone’s Primordial Spirit had possessed soone!
Originally, the old demon crone had been crippled by Cristopher Hopkins Immortal with a punch, even her Black Stone Coffin had ended up in his hands, and her Primordial Spirit had nearly dissipated, escaping only by expending her last bit of strength.
Given the state of her Primordial Spirit, she obviously couldn’t exist on her own.
Originally, she had planned to possess Lilianna Norman, but since Lilianna had been taken away by him, perhaps she had found a different target for possession?
But she was clearly a woman, yet she possessed a man?
