Chapter 1401: Chapter 1401: Can We Go Even Further?

“Ding!”

Carson Flores once again struck with his sword, hitting another finger and producing a clear collision sound of tal.

To his surprise and delight, Carson Flores found an extrely fine crack on the untempered knuckle bone.

Despite the crack not being obvious, it indicated that the attack had exceeded the bone’s defensive limit.

The untempered bone could defend but would be damaged, yet the thoroughly tempered index finger bone, even after the sa strike, showed neither cracks nor the slightest scratch on its surface.

Hard!

Carson Flores was thrilled; it seed the technique truly worked!

Now that Carson Flores had embarked on the Path of the Sword Bone, he naturally could only continue down this path, making his bones even harder, unbreakable by any object!

If bones could be tempered, could the skin, flesh, and internal organs be tempered too?

If that was possible, would his skin turn black and eventually shine like a scorpion’s?

That wouldn’t be too wonderful!

Using the stele to temper the Sword Bone didn’t require any special environnt or pose any danger; one could even stop at any ti. Carson Flores decided to set off, using the travel ti for cultivation.

“Princess Hail, Franklin Wyatt, you two will travel with .”

“Stella Rios, Heath Wells, you stay here. When you have the ti, go chat with Uncle Five. If he needs help with anything, give him a hand.”

Carson Flores, along with Princess Hail and Franklin Wyatt, left the White Crane Immortal Sect to head for the nearby city of Skyhaven.

Skyhaven City is the Imperial City of the Tianlan Empire, massively populated and expansive, coveted as the Imperial City due to its proximity to the White Crane Immortal Sect.

Nurous sects pepper the Skyland Continent, as do empires, with small sects controlling areas as large as a few counties. Great Sects like the White Crane Immortal Sect naturally beco the hidden power behind these empires.

The White Crane Immortal Sect typically does not interfere with the operation of the Mortal Dynasties, but once a disciple of the White Crane Immortal Sect enters the Mortal Realm, they are bound to receive the greatest courtesy and cooperation from its powers.

The Tianlan Empire also pays tribute to the White Crane Immortal Sect annually, with offerings including an array of heavenly materials and earthly treasures, materials for alchemy and artifact refining, equivalent to a protection fee from the kingdom.

Unwilling to pay?

No problem, we can just replace them with soone more compliant to be the Emperor.

The White Crane Immortal Sect’s influence is lofty, and their oppression over the Tianlan Empire not severe. After all, they mostly disdain mundane possessions. Thus, the Tianlan Empire flourishes prosperously. Countless flying boats arrive continually in Skyhaven City like fish swimming upstream, presenting a thriving sight.

Carson Flores planned to board a large flying boat in Skyhaven City. These boats have many passengers and travel along relatively safe routes, hence offering more security. Renting a luxury cabin, fitted with various formations, allows for peaceful cultivation, much more comfortable than traveling on one’s own.

Franklin Wyatt exclaid, “Such a bustling city, free from fear of demonic beast attacks. The palace aside, no other areas even need barriers. The people here really do live blessed lives…”

Carson Flores smiled and said, “I heard that in the earliest days, the Immortal Domains were also overrun with demonic beasts. Generation after generation of cultivators drove them into areas unsuitable for human habitation. If not for the fact that demonic beasts also produce many raw materials needed by humans, those powerful immortals would have likely exterminated all demonic beasts long ago.”

Princess Hail watched the common folk on the street, smiling, “Look at their rosy complexions and fine clothes. It seems that even ordinary people, under the protection of immortals and with hard work, can live very well. Compared to the harsh environnts of the Barbaric Wilderness Realm, this place truly is like a paradise.”

Carson Flores laughed, “The Barbarian Wilderness Realm is also ho to many powerful individuals of the Human Race. With unity, the sa can be achieved; the key is whether they’re willing to do it. After all, they already stand high above, and how many of them would care how ordinary people live?”

“In the previously established Human Race Alliance, I proposed a plan to drive the demonic beasts into the mountains, which many people agreed with. They even set up plans and prepared to progressively move forward with it. However, whether it can truly succeed will depend on whether they can persevere and continue the effort generation after generation.”

The trio chatted casually as they moved into the city. Presenting the White Crane Immortal Sect token at the city gate, they were imdiately allowed to pass. The small team leader even kindly offered to guide them, giving Carson Flores a taste of the privileges immortals enjoy in the Mortal Realm.

Having selected the route and bought their tickets, the trio boarded the boat.

The room was equipped with a soundproofing formation and was very quiet. Carson Flores sat cross-legged, holding a black stone and quietly absorbed its special minerals to refine his Sword Bone.

After a month’s journey, the flying boat reached the border city of Heitu, belonging to the Tianlan Empire.

Carson Flores, having received notice, stopped his cultivation, exited his room, and stood at the bow of the boat, looking down at the city below.

After a month of continuous cultivation, Carson Flores had completed the tempering of the Sword Bones in his entire right hand, each one black and gleaming like black alloy, unbreakable.

Carson Flores was very satisfied!

Upon arrival by boat, the trio left Heitu and headed toward the border city of the Iron Lion Dynasty.

The order of the Mortal Realm’s borders had no jurisdiction over cultivators.

Just as the trio crossed the border, a flying boat whooshed past behind them, and in its wake, several beams of golden light tore through the sky, chasing after it.
