The Golden-Winged Great Roc hovered mid-air as Carson Flores sized up the man before him.
He appeared to be in his forties, with a large belly, dressed splendidly, exuding an aura of wealth from head to toe.
Carson Flores cupped his hands in greeting, "What brings you here, sir?"
The middle-aged man, resembling a wealthy squire, broke into a genial smile, "I’m Harvey Duncan, just a re rchant. Seeing a Golden-Winged Great Roc tad by a cultivator is a first for . I couldn’t help but greet you, wanting to make your acquaintance. May I ask where you hail from?"
The Golden-Winged Great Roc truly stands out!
Carson needed to quickly find the Demon Secret Fruit; otherwise, having the Roc along the way drew too much attention.
If the Golden-Winged Great Roc were powerful enough, Carson wouldn’t worry, but as it was still young and not strong enough, he dared not let it roam freely in this unfamiliar land. If it encountered a formidable figure, it might get captured or even killed, which would be disastrous.
Carson smiled, "From the Skyland Continent, White Crane Immortal Sect. Carson Flores, nice to et you, Daoist Jin. These two are my maidens!"
White Crane Immortal Sect?
A glint flashed in Harvey Duncan’s eyes, "Where is Daoist Flores heading?"
Carson smiled back, "I’m visiting an old friend at the Thousand Flowers Palace."
White Crane Immortal Sect, Thousand Flowers Palace!
Harvey Duncan’s eyes brightened, and he smiled, "That ans you’ll be crossing the Vast Sea Plain. Coincidentally, we’re on the sa route. I’ve long admired your sect’s Heavenly Sword Bank Austin. Why not rest on board for a few days? We can drink and chat, sparing us the hardships of flying."
Carson politely declined, "I appreciate your kind offer, Daoist Jin, but I’m in a hurry and wouldn’t want to impose."
Harvey Duncan laughed heartily, "It’s no imposition at all, Daoist Flores. Don’t worry, I’m a businessman. Across the Divine Fla Continent, the na ’Free rchant’ Harvey Duncan is quite reputable."
"Though this is the Vast Sea Plain, where robbers roam, I’m no thief. I’m just a businessman here to conduct legitimate business. Join on board for tea; who knows, we may have dealings in the future."
June Weiss’s voice echoed in Carson’s mind, "Master, Harvey Duncan is indeed a renowned rchant across the Divine Fla Continent. He roams the continent with this massive ’Free Spirit’ rchant vessel, buying and selling various materials. It’s said he can procure anything you have to offer."
"He’s a businessman, unlikely to resort to robbery. However, they say Harvey Duncan is quite formidable, and there are many powerful individuals on board. Though many have targeted his ’Free Spirit’ ship, none have succeeded so far."
Free rchant?
A trace of a smile appeared on Carson’s face, "In that case, I won’t intrude."
Harvey Duncan smiled slightly and gestured, "Please, Daoist Flores!"
The Golden-Winged Great Roc landed on the fortress-like rchant ship as Carson and his companions leapt down. Once on board, Carson noticed that the entire ship’s exterior was crafted from tal, and even the floor was assembled from extrely expensive Ghostwood, harder than steel.
A single plank of Ghostwood could cost tens of thousands of Spirit Stones, and as Carson glanced around, he wondered just how many planks there were.
Thousands, or tens of thousands?
What a tycoon!
This was wealth beyond belief.
"Daoist Flores, your Golden-Winged Great Roc can stay here. If it needs food, I’ll have soone prepare it..."
Carson smiled, "No need, I have its food prepared. I’ll feed it by evening."
In the past days, Carson and the Golden-Winged Great Roc had hunted quite a few prey, storing them away. After all, the young Golden-Winged Great Roc was a typical glutton, and once it matured, the intervals between als would lengthen, with one al lasting ten to fifteen days.
Carson and his two companions were led into a lounge. Harvey Duncan invited Carson to sit, and imdiately, a beautiful young maiden served them tea, fruits, and exquisite pastries.
After so polite conversation, Harvey Duncan asked, "May I be bold and call you Brother Lin? Brother Lin, how did you manage to ta this Golden-Winged Great Roc? I noticed it has no bindings."
Carson chuckled, "My friend stole its egg from a Golden-Winged Great Roc’s nest, which led the Roc to pursue him. Later, we went to the Volcanic Region to hatch the egg. Since I helped my friend, he gifted its ownership to ."
Harvey Duncan was amazed. An adult Golden-Winged Great Roc is a terrifying existence that can rival a Peak Heavenly Immortal or even stronger. To think Carson’s friend was pursued by one and still got away safely?
"So you hatched it yourselves. No wonder it’s so ta with you. It looks very healthy. It seems you’ve fed it well..."
Carson laughed, "When we were hatching it, a Fla Dragon Ghost Bat crawled out of the volcano, wanting to eat the egg. My friend slew the Fla Dragon Ghost Bat, and most of its flesh ended up in its belly. How could it not grow well?"
