"Senior Sister, what do I call you?"
Carson Flores, who was piloting the Flying Boat, felt bored and tried to strike up a conversation.
The woman sat cross-legged and spoke coldly, "Shut up."
Carson was silent for a mont, then cautiously asked, "Senior Sister, it seems like you have a serious internal injury. I have a Sky-nding Pill here for treating such injuries. Do you need it?"
The woman opened her eyes, her gaze slightly surprised, "A Premium Sky-nding Pill?"
Carson took out a porcelain bottle and handed it to the woman, "Yes."
The woman took the bottle, opened it to take a look, and seed a bit astonished, "This elixir is hard to find even for a huge sum; where did you get it?"
Carson casually made up a story, "I got it from exploring a Secret Realm. There were only two pills. I was badly injured at the ti and consud one, leaving only one."
The woman was silent for a few seconds, "This elixir is extrely precious; why give it to ?"
Carson replied frankly, "Didn’t you say you would help advance to True Immortal, Senior Sister? I didn’t know how to assist you, so I thought this pill might be of so use..."
The woman looked at him a little surprised, "You’re not worried I’m just lying to you?"
Carson laughed, "Senior Sister seems very powerful; there’s no need to lie to . If you just want to pilot the Flying Boat, you could tell . If I don’t comply, you could kill , and I’d still have to obey."
The woman stared at Carson for two seconds, her tone slightly softer, "I keep my word."
Carson nodded, "I trust you. Where are we headed?"
The woman replied, "To Immortal Cloud Manor."
Carson looked puzzled, "Where is that?"
Perhaps because Carson gave her the valuable Premium Elixir, her attitude towards him softened, and she even explained, "It is the residence of the healing immortal, Dominick Schneider."
Healing Immortal?
Carson was surprised and asked, "Senior Sister, is your injury that severe?"
The woman replied, "I originally had old injuries, and now the new ones have worsened them."
Carson understood and stopped asking more questions, "Just keep heading south, right?"
"Yes, to Cold Forest City, Immortal Cloud Manor is in a small town east of Cold Forest City."
Carson noted Cold Forest City in his mind and assured, "You can heal comfortably. I promise to get you to your destination as quickly as possible."
The woman acknowledged with a hum, placed the Sky-nding Pill into her mouth, and closed her eyes.
Carson breathed a sigh of relief, turned around, and piloted the Flying Boat southward.
He took out a Sky-nding Pill just to find an opportunity to chat and understand the woman’s destination, lest he unwittingly followed her to the Heavenly Alliance headquarters, which would be pointless for him.
Since she was heading to Immortal Cloud Manor to seek treatnt, Carson didn’t mind accompanying her further, as he was very much concerned about advancing to True Immortal.
The bottleneck: if you understand it and break through, it’s nothing, but if you don’t, it’s an unbreakable iron lock holding back your future.
While at the Heavenly Alliance branch that month, Carson had been subtly gathering information about the Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas. From Jane Vasquez and others, he learned that the Immortal Monarch rarely visited the branch; it’s mostly managed by Deputy Alliance Hierarch Charles Roth.
Jane said everyone’s impression of the branch Hierarch was similar. He seed not to care much about the branch’s developnt, more like a figurehead, and most people hadn’t even seen the Hierarch.
The higher-ups who had seen the Hierarch also had a surprisingly consistent impression, that he seemingly didn’t like interacting with people; when he occasionally visited, he mostly stayed in his stone chamber.
Mysterious, aloof.
Based on Jane Vasquez and others’ impression, Carson figured that although the Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas was the White Cloth Blood Envoy, he seed not very invested in the southern branch’s developnt.
Carson even subtly inquired from Arthur Frost and Muxianer. The White Cloth Blood Envoy had only appeared once to recruit the Demon Fiend Hall, and even then was refused by Xander Frost.
Afterward, it was Deputy Alliance Hierarch Charles Roth who used tactics to indirectly coerce Xander Frost into joining. All plans were issued by Charles Roth, with outside affairs conducted by the Hall Master Lucian Lopez.
Now in closer contact, Carson finally partly understood people’s assessnt of them.
The Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas is a woman, but she always appears to everyone as a man. Carson wasn’t surprised by this; many accessory-type magical treasures can achieve this effect.
Clearly a charming woman, with the concealnt treasure on, she could appear to others as a coarse-looking man, her voice also changeable; unless directly interacting, it’s hard to notice anything unusual.
The Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas is the White Cloth Blood Envoy, with a prestigious identity, so who would have close contact with her unless she initiates it?
Perhaps Charles Roth knows her background, but the ordinary disciples are completely unaware.
The southern branch was attacked, and she obviously knew, but didn’t seem to care at all. She neither rushed back to headquarters nor moved to settle the situation, heading to Immortal Cloud Manor instead.
After realizing she wasn’t as terrifying as imagined, Carson decided to take a little risk and travel with her.
Perhaps she would really keep her promise and help him advance to True Immortal?
