The middle-aged Taoist cast a glance at Carson Flores but said nothing.

"Place your bets."

"Open!"

"One, two, two, five, small point!"

Carson Flores laughed heartily and tilted his head: "Thanks for the guidance, Fellow Taoist."

The middle-aged Taoist laughed: "Winning ans leaving entirely, that’s true victory. Otherwise, all gains might just be an illusion."

Carson Flores nodded in agreent: "Makes sense."

Carson didn’t rush to chat with the Taoist but seriously gambled, yet he followed the bets of the middle-aged Taoist every ti, making the situation slightly intriguing.

Following bets is quite common in gambling halls. Whoever is on a winning streak is whom others choose to follow, and whoever is having bad luck, you bet the opposite. For ordinary gamblers, this is the simplest and most effective strategy.

Carson followed him for five or six rounds, sotis winning, sotis losing, but overall he gained so.

On the seventh round, Carson continued to follow.

The middle-aged man bet three million Spirit Stones, Carson bet the sa.

"Open!"

"Two, three, five, ten points, big!"

Lost!

Carson smiled slightly without any change in expression.

Eighth round.

The middle-aged Taoist placed his bet.

Two million, big.

Carson followed, two million, big.

The middle-aged Taoist turned to look at Carson: "You’ve just lost, yet you still follow?"

Carson smiled: "Yes."

The middle-aged Taoist laughed: "You have such confidence in ?"

Carson smiled: "Isn’t your Dragon Mountain Sect known for the best Talisman divination? Surely you’ve divined your luck too. Betting along with you can’t be wrong."

The middle-aged Taoist squinted his eyes slightly: "From your accent, Fellow Taoist, you don’t seem local?"

Carson answered calmly: "A loose cultivator from a small place, new here."

"Oh."

Carson tilted his head: "Where are you from, Fellow Taoist?"

The middle-aged Taoist replied: "Dragon Cloud Mountain."

Carson’s eyes glead: "What a coincidence, I have a friend who also joined Dragon Cloud Mountain earlier. I wonder how he’s doing now?"

The middle-aged Taoist showed slight surprise: "Your friend is a Dragon Cloud Mountain disciple? Outer or Inner Sect?"

Carson nodded: "I’m not too sure. He followed Fellow Floating Cloud, said he could join under the Dragon Cloud Mountain Sect Master or his senior siblings..."

The middle-aged Taoist’s complexion changed suddenly, his hand playing with chips paused: "Are you talking about... Sergio Wilkins?"

Carson nodded excitedly: "Yes, that’s him. Do you know him, Fellow Taoist?"

The middle-aged Taoist smiled: "I’ve t him, but we’re not close. He joined under Uncle Master Hanshan, young and already very skilled, has a promising future."

Carson asked curiously: "Is he... very formidable?"

The middle-aged Taoist laughed: "Great Land Pri Immortal, Deputy Hall Master of Dragon Cloud Mountain’s Talisman Hall, Talisman Master. Would you say that’s formidable?"

Carson laughed: "That’s great to hear."

Perhaps because Sergio Wilkins is a junior fellow, his friends aren’t considered outsiders. The middle-aged Taoist’s attitude ward significantly: "How should I address you, Fellow Taoist?"

"Carson Flores."

The middle-aged man’s face showed a touch of surprise, deeply scrutinized Carson for two seconds before smiling and introducing himself: "I’m Master Youhe, third disciple of Dragon Cloud Mountain Sect Leader."

Wow, what a figure!

Carson initially was just casually trying to get so info on Sergio Wilkins’ status, but didn’t expect to randomly et a disciple of the Dragon Cloud Mountain Sect Leader.

A big figure indeed.

Carson smiled: "My respects, my respects."

Master Youhe shook his head, looking at Carson with a rather intriguing gaze: "Uncle Master Hanshan ntioned you..."

Carson was slightly surprised but felt relieved considering Master Youhe’s identity.

Floating Cloud sent Sergio Wilkins to the core disciple group, naturally needing him to communicate with the Sect Leader, etc. ntioning Carson wasn’t unusual, right?

Carson smiled: "What did Senior Floating Cloud say?"

Master Youhe’s gaze turned slightly peculiar: "Did you really turn down Uncle Master Hanshan’s invitation, refusing to beco his disciple?"

Carson nodded: "Yes, there are many entanglents, temporarily I don’t want to join any sect, so I could only decline his kind offer."

Master Youhe’s expression grew complex, unclear whether it was admiration, regret, or mockery.

Such a good opportunity, others crave it, but you just casually refused!

Do you know what you passed up?

A few more rounds of silent gambling, Master Youhe spoke again: "Fellow Flores, why are you going to the North Sea?"

Carson replied openly: "Visiting friends, several friends and I ca out together, they’re in the North Sea... What about you guys? I heard sothing about a visit, but all I see are Taoists and monks?"

Master Youhe answered cleanly: "We’re going to have a showdown with the Sea God Sect."

Carson’s eyes widened, looking shocked: "A showdown?"

Master Youhe shrugged, looking indifferent: "On a pleasant note, you could call it a visit, sparring. More frankly, it’s a showdown. Whoever wins gets to speak..."

Carson was speechless, this was too straightforward.

But fights do need a reason, right?

"What kind of speaking rights?"
