The aura on The Wither-Bloom Sage suddenly surged, and the expression on his face began to change dramatically.
One second, he was fierce and insane, the next, he was kind-looking and peaceful, and then in another second, he beca shrouded in demonic qi with a murderous intent reaching the sky...
Carson Flores was shocked by the sudden change; what was going on?
How did a single sentence of his elicit such a huge reaction?
Carson instinctively recalled waking up from a dream, and The Wither-Bloom Sage squatting on the ground asking him what Buddha was, and now he kept repeating the phrase attain enlightennt, he was sowhat enlightened.
This old monk must have confused himself by cultivating Buddhism, right?
He cultivates Buddhism, but what is Buddha?
To understand what Buddha is, one can devise a thod to achieve enlightennt; it’s a very simple principle.
The old monk was in pursuit of the true aning and had beco bewildered, only to be tricked by Carson’s ambiguous Buddhist verse, and the last phrase "put down the butcher’s knife and attain enlightennt" touched his soul, causing inner turmoil and conflict.
Carson didn’t dare run; the old monk felt extrely dangerous at this mont. If he fled, he might inadvertently provoke him, leading him to strike Carson down.
The violent fluctuations in the old monk’s aura thoroughly suppressed Carson, making him extrely uncomfortable but he managed to endure it.
Let’s not forget he was already a Great Land Immortal, yet the old monk’s re exposed aura was too much for him to bear, indicating the vast difference in power between the two.
The fluctuations in the old monk’s aura lasted for about ten minutes, finally gradually slowing down.
Carson’s heart was in suspense the whole ti, as he roughly understood the situation before him; the old monk was playing a ga of soul-searching, with the constant aura changes reflecting the fluctuations in his inner thoughts.
The old monk’s body was like a spinning roulette, changing into all sorts of possibilities. If in the end, it settled on the vicious, manic monk, it represented slaughter and death, and Carson might have to flee for his life, with but a sliver of a chance of survival; however, if it settled on the compassionate, friendly and harmonious master, then Carson’s life would be spared.
All depended on whether the old monk could conquer his heart demon and restore his original self.
Carson’s muscles were tensed, ready to fight for his life at any mont.
Even knowing that escape was unlikely, who would sit and wait for death? Even if there’s a one in ten thousand chance of success, one must try their best.
Finally, the emotional turmoil within the old monk ca to a complete stop.
The old monk joined his hands together, with a kind face, peaceful eyes, emitting a tranquil aura.
Carson let out a long breath and tentatively called out, "Master?"
The Wither-Bloom Sage looked up at Carson and smiled slightly, "Young benefactor, please wait a mont."
The Wither-Bloom Sage pointed a finger at the space between his eyebrows, and the strong aura on him instantly weakened. Soon, his entire aura was completely restrained, making him appear just like an ordinary monk.
He opened his eyes, joined his hands together, and bowed to Carson, "Young benefactor, sorry for startling you."
The breath Carson had been holding finally escaped, carefully asking, "Master, what’s the current situation now?"
The Wither-Bloom Sage replied, "Previously, in a battle with the Deputy Leader of the Sea God Sect, I sustained so injuries, and the heart demon took the opportunity to wreak havoc, temporarily taking over my body. It was thanks to your Buddhist verse which enhanced my enlightennt while suppressing the demonic nature. The last line especially was like a morning bell or evening drum, profoundly awakening. My heart demon had a flaw exposed, which allowed to regain control of my body."
"Now I have sealed and suppressed my own power, under such circumstances, my heart demon is powerless and unable to re-erge to do evil. So truly, young benefactor, you have been of great help. If it weren’t for you intervening, I might have beco a bloodthirsty demon, causing huge massacres."
Having heard The Wither-Bloom Sage’s explanation, Carson was finally relieved.
Too frightening!
He was drenched in sweat.
"Master, as long as you are okay, you scared to death just now..."
The Wither-Bloom Sage smiled kindly, "This matter is my fault, thanks to your Buddhist verse, otherwise I wouldn’t have awakened... Young benefactor, are you a disciple of the Dragon Mountain Sect?"
Carson nodded, "My master is Floating Cloud."
The Wither-Bloom Sage was slightly startled, "Floating Cloud has taken a disciple?"
Carson replied, "I just beca his disciple two days ago. By the way, master, is my master alright? I didn’t see him earlier."
The Wither-Bloom Sage answered, "His opponent was very strong, and during the battle, he used the Dragon Mountain Secret Art. Though he won, he was severely injured and went into isolation to heal."
Carson breathed a sigh of relief, just injured, that was good!
Not having seen him earlier, Carson had speculated whether he had already perished, otherwise, why wouldn’t he show up even when his disciple was captured?
Carson asked again, "Is the sect rivalry over now, who won?"
The Wither-Bloom Sage replied, "We won, but just barely."
Carson concernedly asked, "Master, can you tell more about it? Uh, if it’s not convenient, I can ask when I’m back on Moon God Island."
The Wither-Bloom Sage smiled and answered, "There’s no inconvenience, let’s return to Moon God Island first, lest they worry, and I’ll tell you along the way."
"Alright!"
Carson released a small Flying Boat heading towards Moon God Island, with The Wither-Bloom Sage sitting cross-legged on the boat, narrating the intense battle that Carson had missed.
"The first match was the Sea God Church Holy Son Lorvian Randall against Wyland; Wyland lost the match, and Lorvian Randall suffered minor injuries. He insisted on fighting the second match, going up against Profound River of the Dragon Mountain Sect. Lorvian Randall was defeated, but Profound River was injured by his counterattack, quite seriously."
"In the third match, Profound Clarity fought against Xethorin Rich from the Sea God Sect, who is also a genius disciple of their sect, and Profound Clarity was defeated."
Carson, upon hearing this, was quite shocked.
The Three Sects Disciple actually lost two, with the only victory being Profound River, though that was because Lorvian Randall insisted on continuous battles, and he was injured in the first match. Even so, though he lost, Profound River was still seriously hurt.
The combat power of this Lorvian Randall was incredibly strong!
Truly worthy of being the Sea God Church Holy Son!
The Wither-Bloom Sage continued, "In the fourth match, your master Floating Cloud fought, using the Dragon Mountain Secret Art, and won, but was heavily injured."
"The fifth match saw Tian Guang from the Fiction win the duel, suffering minor injuries."
"In the sixth match, Heavenspire Monk from our sect fought and lost."
"By this point, both sides stood at a tie of three to three. I went against their Vice Sect Hierarch, managed to win the duel, but got slightly injured, allowing my heart demon to exploit the opportunity, causing to lose my senses..."
Carson thought for a mont, then curiously asked, "Master, I’m just a nobody, hiding in the Formation to practice. With so many people in the camp, how did you end up finding ?"
