Erion Yarwood looked at his excited son, feeling inexplicably irritated.
He knew he couldn’t really bla his son for this. Since Carson Flores was Oraya Lorne’s son-in-law, he was bound to appear at the Azure Divine Sect on the day of the grand banquet.
Whether or not his son made provocations against Carson Flores outside Verdant Leaf City, the outco of the battle at the Azure Divine Sect wouldn’t change.
Once his son was captured, his first reaction was naturally to contact him for rescue, which was quite normal.
Everything was normal, yet the result was tragic. Erion Yarwood was full of suppressed anger, and now, seeing his son’s insensitive questioning, he almost wanted to slap him flying.
If he hadn’t been rescued, wouldn’t there have been no further issues?
Erion stared at the excited Xyrella Yarwood and asked in a deep voice, "After you were captured, did Floating Cloud and Carson Flores set off with you?"
Xyrella asked puzzledly, "Yes, they were afraid I’d blow up like Elder Kirby, so they let go ho, and they ca back with ... Father, what happened?"
Erion pursued further, "Do you know that Carson Flores’s Treasury Pagoda hid five Superior Grade Great Land Primordial Immortals from the Dragon Mountain Sect?"
"Impossible!"
Xyrella shouted, "At that ti, only Floating Cloud ca out. If so many of them had co, Elder Rhodes wouldn’t have fled. Ah, wait..."
Xyrella ca to a realization and widened his eyes, "After I was captured, I was held in solitary confinent for a while. They went to et with the Azure Divine Sect people to discuss things. It must have been during that ti they sought reinforcents."
Erion said with disappointnt, "Did they isolate you to detain you? That was to give you a chance to call for help so they’d ensnare when I ca!"
Xyrella turned pale, "Father, are you all alright?"
Erion sighed, "Arveth Reid made it back, but the other two have lost contact. It’s probably grim for them."
Five chasing three—with an outco like that, it’s normal they couldn’t escape. Just one making it back is already fortunate.
Xyrella’s face turned even paler.
First, Branthor Kirby died, then to save himself, two more elders t a dire fate?
"Father, are you alright?"
Erion sighed again, "The injuries aren’t light; Arveth Reid is hurt worse than . Sect affairs will probably have to pause for now!"
Xyrella’s anticipation was long gone, feeling guilty, he said, "I’m sorry. If it weren’t to save , you wouldn’t be injured, and the other two elders wouldn’t have t with such a disaster..."
Erion looked at Xyrella with a complex expression.
If it were soone else, Erion might have already slapped them a long ti ago. No, if it were soone else, he wouldn’t have gone to rescue them at all!
But he was his only son after all.
"It’s alright. People are gone, but they can be found again. As long as you’re back safe, that’s enough. Go rest now!"
Xyrella hesitated to speak, knowing he couldn’t really help with this matter.
Xyrella bowed, "Yes, Father."
Xyrella had barely taken a few steps when Erion, watching his moving figure, suddenly called out, "Wait."
Xyrella turned back puzzled, "What is it?"
Erion walked over to Xyrella, and his Divine Sense carefully scanned him once again, ticulously so.
He suddenly thought, since they anticipated his rescue, could there be another trick in play?
Did Floating Cloud dismiss Xyrella’s life because Erion appeared, or was setting him free just another move?
Erion conducted a thorough inspection and found no Spiritual Imprints.
"Nothing’s wrong, you can go."
Erion threw out the words and then added, "Go to the Inner Valley, I will activate the Sky Extinction Formation."
"Alright!"
After Xyrella left, Erion sent out a command, and soon, Arveth Reid and other key sect mbers left the front valley, crossed a gorge, and entered the Inner Valley.
Arveth Reid asked, "Sect Hierarch, why move into the Inner Valley?"
Erion said sternly, "They easily set Xyrella loose, possibly using him as a bait, not caring about his life once they saw us. But another possibility is allowing his return to track him to our headquarters."
"I’ve already activated the Sky Extinction Formation. If they co, I’ll ensure they have no return!"
Arveth Reid said angrily, "Now I’m more hoping they co; otherwise, this grudge can’t be settled."
Erion remarked coldly, "Even if I can’t settle it today, once I’m healed, I’ll make the Dragon Mountain Sect suffer heavy casualties, paying tenfold for this!"
"Old Arveth, your injuries are serious. Go heal, I’ll watch over the Sky Extinction Formation. If they truly co, it’ll be within these two days!"
Erion sat cross-legged at the control Array Eye of the Sky Extinction Formation and closed his eyes.
This wait lasted two days.
The sky was dim, and two sect disciples entered from the outer valley, heading straight to the entrance of the Inner Valley.
The guard at the Inner Valley entrance called out, "Who goes there?"
The leading man displayed a Token, "Greer Compton from Blood Camp, with urgent business to report to the Sect Hierarch!"
The guard’s gaze swept over the young man slightly bowing his head behind Greer, "Who is he?"
