Carson dialed Shirley Miller’s number.
Shirley’s voice was as cool as ever, “What is it?”
Carson said with a smile, “I landed a deal worth eighteen million yesterday…”
Shirley’s voice took on a note of surprise, “You clinched it all by yourself?”
Carson chuckled, “Of course.”
Shirley’s voice returned to its calm state, “Well, congratulations to you.
You’ll get a sizable commission and won’t have to worry about being fired.”
Carson replied with a smirk, “That’s not necessarily the case.”
Shirley was smart and imdiately sensed there was a problem, “What happened?”
Carson recounted how Sergio Combs destroyed the contract he had signed, took it to Waylen Jas in private to sign a new deal, including the detailed conversation between Sergio and Waylen.
Shirley’s tone had a few more notes of surprise, “Director Jas told you this?”
“Yes.”
“Director Jas will only sign contracts with you, not with anyone else from the Miller Group?”
“Correct.”
Shirley asked doubtfully, “How did you manage that?”
Shirley found it hard to comprehend.
Carson was new to the scene, a stranger in these parts.
Why would Director Jas be so keen on supporting him, going so far as to show such favoritism?
Carson said with a laugh, “Because I’m really capable.”
Shirley instantly lost the urge to ask any more; the reply was too insincere!
“Will you be able to secure more deals from Red River Hospital in the future?”
“I should think so.”
Shirley spoke cleanly and decisively, “Wait then.
I will give you an explanation.”
“OK!”
After hanging up, Carson got out of bed leisurely and started his day.
Just upon arriving at the office, Jax Gross ca over, “Group leader Sergio hasn’t arrived yet.
Wait for him to get here, then take the contract to the hospital.
Once it’s stamped, the deal will be concluded.”
Carson smiled, “He’s quite busy right now.”
Jax asked in confusion, “Busy with what?”
Carson chuckled slyly, “Busy trying to snatch my deal.”
Jax’s expression changed dramatically, “What do you an?”
Carson glanced at John Roth nearby, eavesdropping with perked ears, along with several other colleagues, and smiled, “After giving the contract to group leader Sergio, he redrafted one with his na as the agent, got the company stamp on it, and rushed to Red River Hospital early this morning to ask Director Jas for a new signature and stamp…”
John’s face turned pale.
How could Carson know all these details?
Could it be that Sergio hadn’t secured Director Jas’s agreent?
The colleagues around exchanged looks, their eyes filled with shock, sympathy, and indignation.
“How could he do that, this is clearly…”
Jax abruptly stopped, as he ca back to his senses.
Director Jas was following the chairman’s order, offering a favor to Carson.
Would he bother with soone like Sergio?
Wasn’t Sergio humiliating himself with this move?
No wonder Carson looked so relaxed and knew such detailed information.
Apart from Waylen Jas tipping off Carson, who else could it be?
Jax suddenly felt a surge of anticipation.
There was a good show to watch!
John was just about to sneak out to call Sergio when the man himself walked in, a faint trace of panic in his eyes.
“Carson, co to my office for a minute,” Sergio said.
But Carson didn’t move and replied with a chuckle, “What’s the matter, group leader Sergio?
Director Jas won’t sign with you, and now you want to close the deal?”
Sergio’s face underwent a sudden change as panic beca more evident in his eyes.
Carson knew!
Sergio’s gaze swept quickly over the office, noticing everyone staring at him with strange looks in their eyes.
His heart sank further.
It was over; everyone knew!
Panic gripped Sergio as he contemplated the possible consequences, and his earlier arrogance dissolved, no longer caring about the others watching, he apologized, “Carson, I’m sorry.
I went too far.
But honestly, I was just trying to make a splash with the performance numbers.
I was planning to give you all the commission…”
Carson chuckled, “Are you apologizing and asking for my forgiveness?”
Sergio’s face reddened; under everyone’s scrutiny, he felt as if he were being executed, but at this mont, he couldn’t care less and reluctantly nodded, “Yes, I’m apologizing to you, please forgive !”
Carson’s smile faded, “You can apologize, but…
I don’t accept it!”
Sergio yelled in anger, “You’re playing !”
Carson said coldly, “What, only you can set a trap for , but I can’t play you?
Do you think you own the company, that the whole world should revolve around you?”
Before Sergio could speak, the assistant to the sales departnt manager appeared at the door.
“Group leader Sergio, Manager Dong wants you in the president’s office,” he said.
Sergio’s face turned deathly pale, his legs went weak, and he almost collapsed to the floor.
He steadied himself using a nearby table, his head buzzing with confusion, haunted by a single thought.
It was all over!
