As a Peak Great Master under the remote foothills of Mount Kahdas, Quinn held a top-tier existence.
Coupled with his identity as the Sect Master of the Ironwood Sect, his word was law throughout the entirety of Dingburg.
Yet now, he found himself arrogantly insulted by a young man in his twenties.
That young man had the audacity to invite Quinn and Randy Jas, two Peak Great Masters, to take him on at once—he was going to fight both of them by himself!
Quinn was reassured to see Randy Jas step forward.
If everything always ca down to him, the Sect Master, then what use were they?
Wasn’t it fitting for soone at his side to leap out and beat the every loving daylights out of that brat, and then, while standing on the defeated, declare that our Sect Master isn’t soone you can challenge just because you feel like it?
How imposing would that be!
However, Quinn’s sense of reassurance lasted less than three seconds before it was obliterated by Carson Flores’ punch, replaced by deep terror.
It’s over!
This kid is a monster!
From the look of it, even if he wasn’t an Innate Grandmaster, he was still a Peak Great Master, the kind who could thrash other Peak Great Masters.
Watching Carson Flores charge at him cleanly and efficiently, Quinn’s mouth tasted bitter.
He wished he could turn tail and run, pretend he had never been here, but with all eyes on him, he couldn’t escape—he would imdiately beco disgraced.
The Sect Master, flee without even fighting?
How could such a Sect Master command respect?
Biting the bullet, Quinn went in for the fight.
Quinn fared slightly better than Randy Jas, at least not being punched into spitting blood and sent flying with the first blow.
But Quinn couldn’t withstand Carson Flores’ straightforward and plain punches.
The first punch turned Quinn’s complexion beet-red, the second left his blood churning almost out of control, and had Randy Jas not thrown himself back into the fray, attacking Carson from behind with no regard for face, Quinn would probably have spat blood following the third punch.
“Wouldn’t it have been easier to do this from the start?”
Facing the combined attacks of Randy Jas and Quinn, Carson Flores was utterly indifferent, even finding the opportunity to taunt them.
Lilly Compton was dumbfounded, looking on with admiration.
Baylor Combs was also stunned, but his eyes were full of fear.
Philip Schneider’s hands unconsciously clenched and unclenched, his mind a blank.
Although the battle was still ongoing and it seed like the outco had not yet been decided, he already knew the result.
Even if Randy Jas and Quinn cast aside their pride for a two-on-one fight, their defeat was inevitable because Carson Flores’ strength differed too much from theirs.
Each punch thrown by Carson Flores appeared heavier than a mountain, not sothing anyone would dare to directly take.
“Bang!”
The less powerful Randy Jas was sent flying once again.
With no one to contain him, no one to support Quinn against the third punch, Quinn collapsed after Carson Flores’ third punch was unleashed.
“We stop, we admit defeat!”
Though it was humiliating, Quinn wisely chose to admit defeat the first mont he hit the ground.
Carson Flores stood over Quinn, with his unleashed fist halting just in front of Quinn: “You admit defeat quite readily, don’t you?”
In the cold weather, Quinn’s temples were nonetheless beaded with cold sweat.
“The gap in strength is too vast, we concede.
We will keep our word; as long as Mr.
Flores you are in Dingburg for one day, our Ironwood Sect will follow your lead.
If there’s anything you need done, please don’t hesitate to command us, we will make sure it is handled properly.”
Carson Flores smiled: “Quite forthright and decent of you.
How about this, let’s find sowhere to talk, shall we?”
Quinn Cobb scrambled to his feet, respectfully saying, “Mr.
Flores, after you.”
Carson Flores glanced at Lilly Compton, who promptly ca over obediently, following Carson Flores like a devoted secretary.
The group boarded the car and drove to a private teahouse that looked to have a nice environnt.
Carson Flores sat down and directly said, “What do you know about the Unknown Land of Mount Kahdas?
As long as you can provide valuable information, I’ll let bygones be bygones regarding today’s matters.
Otherwise, it won’t be settled by just treating to a cup of tea.”
As Dingburg is the nearest city to Mount Kahdas, all traffic to and from the mountain passes through the city.
The Ironwood Sect is Dingburg’s leading power, and Carson Flores didn’t believe they’d been in the area for so long without hearing a whisper of gossip.
Quinn’s eyes blinked as he tentatively asked, “Mr.
Flores, are you also here in search of immortals?”
In search of immortals?
Carson Flores laughed: “You could think of it that way.
Otherwise, why would I co here where it’s so cold and covered with snow?”
Quinn instantly perked up: “The Unknown Land of Mount Kahdas does indeed exist, but no one knows where the entrance is.
Moreover, it is said that even if you find the entrance, you cannot enter without permission.”
Carson Flores nodded: “I, of course, believe in its existence; I need more specific information, like what kind of connection do you have with them?”
“They are like immortal beings; why would they have anything to do with such insignificant people as us?”
After Quinn replied, he paused for a mont: “A connection, actually, there is one, but that was over twenty years ago…”
Carson Flores imdiately brightened: “Over twenty years, how many exactly?”
Quinn carefully calculated: “It should be twenty-seven years ago…”
