Marco Hoffman’s words made Carson Flores feel a bit anxious, but he quickly cald down.
If he had actually recognized him, he wouldn’t be speaking like this.
It seed there was a sense of familiarity, which was normal.
After all, his hatred for Carson was deep-seated…
“I’ve mostly stayed in Xinhai.
I haven’t really been out and about, so I shouldn’t have,” Carson replied.
Marco Hoffman chuckled and said, “It’s just that you look sowhat familiar, but I can’t seem to recall where from.
Sorry, sorry.”
Carson’s heart skipped a beat, thinking to himself, you must not rember, otherwise, it wouldn’t matter if trouble ca, but it would be terrible to disrupt his cultivation state.
Such a place, rich in Spiritual Energy, offering such an opportunity for cultivation, was rare in the mortal realm.
“No worries.
There are many people in the world who look alike.
Sotis you get that feeling when you see a stranger.”
A false alarm!
In the following days, there were no more disturbances, and Carson’s strength steadily increased.
As the blocks of ice in the lake got smaller and the digging teams from the three factions were visible from a distance, Carson finally reached his limit.
Innate Grandmaster Peak!
He could rise no further!
Overjoyed, Carson started to contemplate using the Breakthrough Elixir.
With so many people around and even cultivators from the Blessed Land of Cave Heavens present, he obviously couldn’t dare to use it.
Breaking through with a Breakthrough Elixir would require a vast amount of Spiritual Energy and cause a significant phenonon between heaven and earth.
If he were to break through here, wouldn’t that be suicide?
Carson concealed his power and continued to break the ice.
He, too, wanted to see what kind of magical treasure the Water-Fire Mirror was and why it had such formidable power.
“There’s a corpse here!”
Soone shouted excitedly from a distance.
Kaenu Hail and the other three who were standing on the slope swooped down like the wind and rushed towards the shouting, with the people nearby halting their work and swarming over.
Were they about to find the Water-Fire Mirror?
Carson also gathered around, equally curious.
Besides, not going over to have a look would make him stand out as odd.
A large block of ice had been excavated and was placed on the surface of the ice, with a middle-aged man in a long robe trapped inside, his pallid complexion lifelike as though preserved in the ice.
Kaenu Hail and the others arrived before the icy block.
Nikolai Jinez, the middle-aged man from the Northern Highland Sanctuary, stepped forward and, upon recognition, joyfully exclaid, “The real Water-Fire, Cayson Reid!
The rumors were true, he did indeed fall here.”
The beautiful widow, Elise Parry from the Ruins of Lingxu, spoke in a deep voice, “lt the ice and take a look.”
Nikolai Jinez laughed and said, “Let’s get one thing straight first, this was discovered by our Northern Highland Sanctuary, so the items should belong to us.”
Elise Parry frowned slightly, sowhat reluctantly, “If the Water-Fire Mirror is found, naturally it’s yours, but the rest should be divided between our two parties.”
Emilio Compton, the young man from Eastern Peak Sanctuary of the Sacred Mountain, chid in, “Our earlier agreent was only about the Water-Fire Mirror.
Other items were not included in the deal.
If you get the Water-Fire Mirror, you can’t expect us to leave empty-handed.”
Nikolai Jinez readily agreed, “Alright, the Water-Fire Mirror is mine, and the rest goes to you.”
Seeing no point in further talk, Emilio Compton said bluntly, “lt it.”
Nikolai Jinez stepped forward, “I’ll do it.”
Nikolai Jinez placed his hands on the block of ice and, astonishingly, flas rose directly from his palms.
These flas, as if alive, turned into two rope-like streams, extending out and wrapping around the ice block.
Enveloped by the two strands of fla, the block of ice lted rapidly.
This sight left everyone watching in utter shock.
Was this a spell from the immortals?
Though Carson was amazed, he didn’t feel envious.
After all, it was just one of the many possible uses of Spiritual Energy.
It was similar to the way water can be converted to electricity, and electricity can be turned to light; the principle was the sa.
The essence of cultivation was, ultimately, the absorption and transformation of energy to achieve various effects.
That fla, while surprising, could not possibly harm him.
One punch would extinguish it!
The ice block was quickly completely lted, and the undying corpse of Cayson Reid, the real Water-Fire, was revealed.
Surprisingly, despite not knowing how long he had been dead, his body was lifelike, without a hint of decay.
Nikolai Jinez removed a Space Ring from Cayson Reid’s hand, and in front of the others, he wiped off the ring’s restrictions and shook out all its contents.
Elixirs, dicinal herbs, clothing, Flying Swords, and more, all scattered on the ground.
Everyone’s eyes lit up, brightly gazing at the heap of items.
These items were likely all treasures.
Too bad they weren’t his.
Nikolai Jinez and the others surveyed the items, spotting many of value but seeming indifferent.
After a search, Nikolai Jinez’s expression grew grim, while Elise Parry and Emilio Compton looked pleased.
There was no Water-Fire Mirror in the Space Ring!
The Water-Fire Mirror was elsewhere!
Emilio Compton turned and shouted, “The Water-Fire Mirror is still at the bottom of the lake, keep digging.
Whoever helps find it will not only have their group enter the sanctuary, but I will also let them join the Sect, starting them on the path of everlasting cultivation!”
