It is not far from the Fruits Shop to the grocery shop; a leisurely walk would take only about a quarter of an hour.
However, the three had not gone far when soone blocked their way.
"Guan Qingshu?" Yang Ruxin frowned at the youth in green approaching her, her lips slightly curving in a smile, "Long ti no see." The fellow seed to have grown taller and appeared sowhat more mature.
"Xinxin, long ti no see," Guan Qingshu stopped four steps away from Yang Ruxin. It had been several months since he last saw her, she had grown taller, and seed to be even more beautiful.
"Indeed," Yang Ruxin nodded, "Your examination is approaching, so here’s an early wish for your success on the honor roll."
Guan Qingshu smiled bitterly, saying nothing else, just nodded slightly: "Thank you."
"It’s getting late, I should go back," Yang Ruxin always felt the other party seed to have sothing to say, but she had no interest in listening. Therefore, it was better to leave promptly.
"Xinxin," Guan Qingshu hurriedly stepped forward, blocking Yang Ruxin’s path.
Du Man wanted to step forward to drive him away, but was stopped by Yang Ruxin and had to step aside.
"Guan Qingshu, what exactly do you want?" Yang Ruxin looked at him.
"Xinxin, can we really not go back to the past?" Guan Qingshu bit his lip. In his hand held behind him, he clenched a brocade box tightly, which contained the carefully prepared gift for her coming-of-age ceremony.
"What past are you referring to?" Yang Ruxin slightly raised her eyebrows, "The one where Yang Dani embarrassingly chased after you only to be trampled underfoot? Or the past where after I helped you and your sister escape trouble, your mother still mocked coldly? Or the ti your dear cousin wanted to tarnish my reputation with a scoundrel?"
"I..." Guan Qingshu’s face changed for a mont.
"Guan Qingshu, whatever needed to be said has already been said. But regardless of which past, neither you nor your family has ever given so much as a sliver of warmth," Yang Ruxin looked at Guan Qingshu.
"Xinxin..."
"Guan Qingshu, the reason I haven’t completely turned against you is that you aren’t entirely irredeemable at heart. That’s why I can talk to you calmly, as we are after all from the sa village..."
Guan Qingshu’s body swayed slightly.
"Moreover, as a Scholar, this relentless pestering is not only annoying but also cheapens you... Besides, I am now the Gu Family’s daughter-in-law, so even if you get beaten for this, you can only accept it."
"Furthermore, I completely understand your frustration, and I can guess your intentions. If your pursuit of the imperial examination is just to make regret, then let tell you, don’t bother. Even if you ascend to the highest official ranks, I won’t spare you as much as a glance. But if you can let go of the past and beco a good official serving the people, maybe I’ll think highly of you... Today is the last ti we go over this. If you co to with these complaints again, don’t bla for being impolite..." After finishing her words, Yang Ruxin walked straight past him.
She truly did not harbor much hatred towards Guan Qingshu; if he could interact normally, she could get along peacefully. But if he kept clinging to the past, her patience was really wearing thin.
"Miss, how can you still talk so peacefully with him after all this?" Du Man couldn’t help but murmur.
