Similar conversations occurred not only among the Spirit Sea Realm Elders; the Riverside Sect’s Deacons, inner disciples, and outer disciples were all discussing it endlessly.
As so had anticipated, before announcing the major news of establishing the fourth Main Peak, the Riverside Sect first announced the death of Yuan Chengshan, the original Hall Master of the Immortal Welcoming Hall. They then conferred the now-vacant position upon Yu Yan, forrly the fourth-ranked core disciple.
The establishnt of a new Main Peak was a matter of great significance. News had to be conveyed to all forces, large and small, in the Red Fla Country. Distinguished figures from these forces needed to be invited to attend a banquet and observe the ceremony. Furthermore, plans concerning the Wando Archipelago as a strategic retreat had to be negotiated with The Four Great Sects and other cultivation forces. All these tasks required the Immortal Welcoming Hall to take the lead, and its Hall Master position being vacant for long was causing many inconveniences.
Therefore, this position needed to be filled.
By rights, Yang Xuan should have taken the vacant position of Hall Master of the Immortal Welcoming Hall. After all, despite his loss to Shen Mo in the Mountain River Realm, he was still the foremost core disciple of the Riverside Sect.
