The Librarian laughed at the formality of the tiny white dragon.
In personality, it was a lot like the other one that had co here, the regressed dragon known as brother Chin. They were both overly formal and rigid, only this one was doing it instinctively, and the other had practiced it for a lifeti.
"If you have a way to contact them, you should let the other white dragon know that there is one of his kin here.
We didn't expect that, but having another white dragon here should help the little one adjust more easily than simply leaving him with the orphanage. White is one of the few types of dragons that we don't have here, as far as the Chromatic Dragon Gods.
Karl nodded and opened a small portal to grab the little dragon from where he was watching the lakefront group hatching.
"While I appreciate that you were comfortable, the evolution of the eggs has granted you a brother of the sa species. Librarian Ike believes that it would be best if you helped the little one get situated." Karl explained.
"A white dragon hatchling here?" Brother Chin asked, confused.
Then the hatchling turned to look at him and gave a curious snort.
(You brought another hatchling to teach how to be a hatchling? Interesting strategy. We will see if it pays off.}
Brother Chin laughed. "Oh, this one is going to be a handful, I can tell already. Fine, I will help guide him. The faithful descendants of the Gods often have strong personalities descended from their divine lineage."
{Of course we do. We are Divine.} The hatchling snorted.
Behind him at the nest, a deep blue dragon crackling with lightning laughed.
{If you're Divine, then what am I?} The newly hatched Divine Lightning Dragon laughed.
Not only was she more powerful than the little white dragon, she was also prettier and her powers had manifested at birth. How could that little white lizard compare to her majesty?
She flapped her wings to land on the buffet table, and picked out a fine collection of ats, then used her lightning to roast the first bit with a sense of smug superiority. at was so much better when it was cooked, how could she eat like so savage, just gulping down raw fish?
Hey! That fish eating savage Storm Dragon was trying to steal her at now. *Thwap*
With a flick of her wing, the other hatchling went flying off the table, then grumbled and flew back up.
{If you didn't want to share, you could just say so.) He complained.
The Divine Lightning Dragon relented, while the Elf working the table laughed silently at their antics.
The hatchling cooked a bit of fish for her peer, and the Storm Dragon bit into it tentatively.
{This is so much better than cold. The texture isn't as wiggly though. How do we make it wiggly and warm?}
The chef laughed at his confusion. "That, my young friend, is the art of cooking. Here, try this bit of at. It's called a dium rare steak, and it is both wiggly and warm, which is hard to accomplish with fish."
The Storm Dragon bit into the at, then waved its head, letting the at wiggle as it dangled from his mouth. The Divine Lightning dragon stared at him in thinly veiled disgust, but had cooked her red at exactly the sa way.
It was the best way to eat it. But still, he ate like a pig, not a dragon. More of the eggs were hatching now, multiples at a ti, and the hatchlings were scrambling to get to the table for the at.
"This is insane. Not even in a single clutch do the eggs often hatch on the sa day, but here we've got eggs from a dozen different clutches, and even different species, all hatching minutes apart.
Is there sothing about this place that I don't know?" Librarian Ike asked as he watched the spectacle.
"Possibly? I did use so abilities to optimize both plant and animal growth, which might have synchronized their growth rates. That wasn't the intended purpose, but if they were all pushed to their maximum potential, it makes sense that they would all hatch close together, when they were all affected at the sa ti." Karl offered.
"I will look into it later. So many baby dragons." The Librarian sighed, foreseeing headaches in his future.
Karl watched in silent amusent as the hatchlings fought over food, even though there was more available than they could possibly finish in one day, much less one al.
Then, the sound of frustration from further down the mountain caught his attention, and a small black form rushed out bursting into the open sky, while an annoyed druid stood at the entrance to the caverns.
The hatchling circled for a mont, then turned to fly toward Karl, or perhaps the table of food behind him.
"Do we have different offerings at different stations?" Karl asked, watching the dragon fly their way.
"No. It's all the sa, just in different proportions, based on what they're most likely to want. The water dragon clutches have more fish." Librarian Ike
explained.
The little black dragon flew up in front of Karl, who held out his arm as a perch for it to land on.
{HI! Why do you sll like ho?} It asked.
"I don't know the answer to that. Do I sll like death magic? Or do I sll like sothing else?"
{Not death magic. That other black dragon will be here soon, I can sense her. But even from inside, I could pick out the scent, and I want to know what it is.}
Karl nodded. "Likely because I made this place. If this place is ho, and I made it, then it makes sense that I sll like ho."
The black dragon thought hard about that answer, then decided that it didn't understand.
{I will co back for the answer. I have to go before she catches .}
"Good luck little one. You've got about ten seconds of freedom left."
{FREEDOM!}
Nachtia laughed as she caught the tiny one in one massive claw, then
transford back into a humanoid to clutch him to her chest.
"Alright, you curious little escape artist. Ti to go back to dinner with the
others. You can co bother Uncle Karl later."
{Bye Uncle Karl!}
Dana laughed as Nachtia took the little black dragon away.
"It looks like there will not be a dull mont in the Tiny World"
