Hearing these words, the woman was montarily stunned.

Her eyes widened in shock, her lips trembling slightly.

It seed like she wanted to say sothing, but was at a loss for words.

After a mont, Captain Li Jian said in a deep voice, "What? Are you feeling guilty inside?"

Across from him, the woman blinked frantically in a panic.

She quickly opened her mouth to defend herself, "Why should I feel guilty? I just ca out of there with you guys."

"My own husband passed away, I’m a victim here, and instead of protecting , you’re treating like a suspect. I want to report you to the director."

As she spoke, she straightened her back, her eyes full of defiance and determination.

"No problem, feel free to report us at any ti."

Captain Li Jian’s expression was calm, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips.

He spoke slowly, "However, since you’re already here with the criminal investigation team, you’re closer to the police bureau director, making it more convenient for you to report."

At this mont, Li Jian crossed his arms and slightly tilted his head back, his gaze fixed on the woman with a hint of pressure.

Hearing these words from Captain Li Jian, the woman deflated like a punctured balloon.

She opened her mouth but found herself unable to retort, just standing there speechless.

Seeing this, Captain Li Jian briskly turned his head to Wan beside him and said, "Go, take her to the criminal investigation team."

"The two of us need to conduct another interrogation."

Wan imdiately nodded in response, "Okay."

With that, he reached behind and retrieved a pair of silver handcuffs, striding forward swiftly and steadily.

"Wang Shantao, put your hands out."

Wang Shantao instinctively withdrew her hands, eyes wide with fear.

"What do you an by this?"

"Why are you putting handcuffs on ?"

"You’re twisting right and wrong, framing an innocent person."

Wan’s face was stern, a light of righteous indignation burning in his eyes.

He said firmly, "Whether or not this is framing an innocent person isn’t for you or us to say. It’s determined by the facts and evidence."

Li Jian narrowed his eyes slightly, his expression serious, and spoke, "In my over 20 years of criminal investigation work, I’ve handled many major cases."

"In many cases, when suspects first co into contact with us, they often show very strong resistance."

After a brief pause, he continued in a deep voice, "However, that’s perfectly normal."

"Besides, if criminals surrendered easily from the start, then we wouldn’t need to go through so much trouble."

As soon as he finished speaking, he turned his head again and decisively ordered, "Take her away."

At this mont, in Wang Shantao’s ho, Zhang Yean and Jiang An were tensely investigating the scene.

The police station’s Mr. Liu and several other officers were fully equipped, keeping a vigilant watch behind them, ready to protect their safety at any ti.

Mr. Liu glanced at Jiang An, turned slightly, and asked with so curiosity in a low voice.

"Junior, is this young man new to your team?"

"Why have I never seen him before?"

Zhang Yean was squatting on the ground, carefully examining a mark in the corner of the wall.

Upon hearing the inquiry, she quickly got up and nodded, saying, "Mr. Liu, you may not know, he just joined our criminal investigation team less than a month ago."

"However, he’s already solved many cases consecutively."

"Now, he’s a valuable asset to our criminal investigation team."

"Really?"

Mr. Liu showed a surprised expression.

He looked at Jiang An again.

Only to see Jiang An bending down to examine the environnt under the bed, his gaze focused and sharp, as if the surrounding clamor was unrelated to him.

"So young and already a valuable asset!"

Mr. Chen couldn’t help but click his tongue.

Zhang Yean smiled and replied, "Of course, you have no idea."

"In our criminal investigation team, there aren’t many people that Captain Li Jian values so highly."

"He’s one of them."

"Jiang An is particularly skilled in criminal investigation and forensic analysis."

"Especially in solving murder cases, he’s an expert."

Hearing Zhang Yean’s words, Mr. Liu was full of disbelief.

He paused for a mont, then exclaid, "I’ve never encountered soone so capable before."

"Later, I must take a good look."

At this mont, Jiang An focused his investigation on the wooden bed before him.

The items and bedding on the bed were neatly arranged, emitting a faint scent of laundry detergent, indicating they had been recently changed.

Jiang An frowned slightly, a thoughtful light in his eyes.

He put down his computer and turned to Zhang Yean, saying, "Senior, could you please fetch the flashlight? I want to take a look at the pillows on the bed."

Zhang Yean blinked at his words, turning her head to glance at him, with a hint of surprise on her face.

"These pillows seem quite ordinary, having two pillows on one bed is very normal."

"They seem ordinary."

"But I need to take a closer look to see if there’s sothing wrong with these pillows."

Jiang An’s expression was firm. As he spoke, he handed his flashlight to Zhang Yean.

He then reached out to grab the pillow, swiftly taking off the pillowcase to reveal its white core.

Jiang An carefully examined each side, inside and out, of the pillow core.

His eyebrows slightly furrowed, his gaze deepening, yet he found nothing unusual.

Next, Jiang An set the pillow down, directing his attention to the other pillow.

In the sa manner, he took off the pillowcase and began to examine it closely.

Beside him, Zhang Yean held the flashlight, her face full of curiosity.

She couldn’t understand why these two pillows warranted such careful inspection from Jiang An.
