After a mont of contemplation, Jiang An handed the docunts back to Mr. Qin.

Imdiately, he gave a glance.

Mr. Qin swiftly extended his hand, took the list, and scanned over the paper like lightning, finally fixing his gaze on the words "Wang Shantao."

Suddenly, his brows knitted into a deep "川" shape, his expression turning increasingly serious, as if storm clouds were gathering.

He suddenly exclaid, "Wang Shantao used to work here too?"

The manager across nodded slowly, his tone composed and steady.

"Mr. Qin, she worked in logistics for a while, but she resigned a year ago."

"Resigned?"

Mr. Qin slightly raised his chin, his eyebrows arched lightly, his gaze carrying scrutiny and inquiry as he pressed, "Are you familiar with her?"

The manager smiled wryly and shook his head, wiping his face gently with his hand as he sighed, "She was just a regular employee, I had a lot on my plate, really not too familiar with her."

"Oh?"

Mr. Qin instinctively stroked his chin, his eyes shimring, seemingly lost in thought.

Following this, his eyes flashed, looking at Jiang An with a seemingly telepathic understanding.

Their gazes t and connected like two currents colliding in the air, silently nodding with mutual understanding.

Mr. Qin then turned to the manager, taking a small step forward, his tone indisputable and carrying so authority.

"Alright, then, please have the director of the Logistics Departnt co over, I need to ask him a few things."

"No problem, I’ll call him right away."

The manager quickly agreed, turned around, and briskly walked to his desk.

With hurried steps, he reached the desk in just a few strides, picking up the landline receiver.

His fingers danced swiftly over the dial pad, his actions urgent and smooth.

"Hello, Mr. Wang."

"Please co to my office imdiately."

"There are a few police officers here who want to ask you so questions."

The manager’s voice carried a hint of urgency and prodding through the receiver.

After hanging up the phone, the manager managed to squeeze a smile onto his face.

He walked quickly towards Mr. Qin and the others, picking up the kettle to serve everyone water.

"This is tea grown by my classmate’s family, please have a taste."

Mr. Qin swirled the leaves floating in his cup, smiling as he said, "The tips are plump, the color is erald green, looks very fresh."

"Truly good tea!"

The general manager smiled, "Not at all, just tea produced by our family, no pesticides used."

Just as he finished speaking, a knock abruptly sounded, breaking the brief silence inside the room.

"Co in."

The general manager turned and called out.

The door slowly opened, and a bespectacled man with a slightly frail stature stepped inside.

The eyes behind his glasses showed a hint of caution.

He cautiously observed the situation in the room.

"This is our Logistics Departnt’s Mr. Wang."

The general manager hurriedly introduced him.

Mr. Qin quickly stood up, a friendly smile broadening across his face.

He proactively extended his hand, arm straight and slightly leaning forward, exuding enthusiasm.

"Mr. Wang! Hello, I’m Mr. Qin from the City Criminal Investigation Team, I need to inquire about a few matters today."

Mr. Wang was slightly startled, as if taken aback by this sudden enthusiasm.

He extended his hand stiffly, gripping it, seemingly timid, with a low voice and a trace of hesitation.

"Mr. Qin, go ahead and ask, what is it?"

Mr. Qin wasted no ti, diving straight in.

"We’re not investigating you, but rather your forr employee Wang Shantao."

"Are you familiar with her?"

"Wang Shantao, huh!"

Mr. Wang adjusted his glasses, his fingers lightly sliding over the fra.

"Familiar!"

"We used to be in the sa departnt, but she left a year ago."

Mr. Qin and Jiang An exchanged glances, nodding gently.

Their exchange seed to convey a silent understanding.

Mr. Qin continued asking, "When she ca, was it you who interviewed her?"

"What was the situation then? Please explain."

Mr. Wang cleared his throat, his Adam’s apple moving up and down, as he delved into mory.

Imdiately, he said, "She ca the year before last."

"Her main responsibility was bookkeeping in the kitchen, and she was quite diligent at work."

Mr. Qin asked, "So why did she suddenly resign last year?"

Mr. Qin’s gaze was tightly locked on Mr. Wang, not missing a single change in expression.

His scrutinizing gaze grew more intense.

Mr. Wang forced an unnatural smile.

His eyes darted around nervously, not daring to et Mr. Qin’s eyes.

"Maybe... the salary wasn’t high enough."

Years of experience in criminal investigation had honed Mr. Qin’s sharp instincts, instantly sensing sothing amiss.

He squinted slightly, his gaze becoming as sharp as cold stars in the night.

Continuing, Mr. Qin’s tone grew heavier, with a hint of intimidation: "Is it really that simple?"

Mr. Wang’s heart tightened, he instinctively looked up, his eyes nervously turning to the general manager.

The general manager quickly spoke, "Mr. Wang, speak frankly, don’t hide anything!"

Mr. Wang hesitated for a mont, gritting his teeth, the muscles on his cheeks bulging as if he had made a significant decision.

"Alright! But you have to keep this confidential."

"Rest assured, speak freely."

Mr. Qin nodded, a promise in his eyes, conveying reassurance and trust.

Mr. Wang took a deep breath, his chest heaving visibly.

He slowly recounted, "Wang Shantao was quite beautiful and young, and well-liked in logistics."

"But a year ago, she had an emotional dispute with the Section 3 director."

"The Section 3 director’s wife confronted her directly at logistics, facing off in person, causing quite a commotion."

"She probably felt too embarrassed to stay and left."

"The Section 3 director?"

Mr. Qin murmured to himself, appearing to confirm the information to himself.

"Is this person still working at the factory?"

"He’s here, but I’m not sure if he’s in the workshop today."

Jiang An picked up the thread of conversation: "So that’s the reason for her resignation?"
