At this mont, the three of them held their breath simultaneously, six pairs of eyes focusing like searchlights on the edge of the seat.

Zhang Yean furrowed her brow and fell into deep thought: "Junior, these marks... they look too faint. Could they mislead our judgnt?"

"After all, vehicles inevitably pick up various stains in daily use."

"Exactly!" Wan also crouched down, unconsciously rubbing his chin with his right hand.

"I rember the road at the scene was a muddy dirt road, with so gray-white powder-like substances scattered on the bridge."

"But what’s here is green. Could it be unrelated to this case?"

"Maybe it’s a stain that existed before?"

Faced with the discussion from his senior brother and sister, Jiang An did not respond imdiately.

He crossed his arms, staring at the marks intently, his long fingers rhythmically tapping his arm.

After a mont, Jiang An spoke with conviction: "As scene investigation personnel, we cannot overlook any clues, however slight."

"Regardless of whether these marks are directly related to the case, they must be extracted and docunted ticulously in the case file, following the standard procedure."

As he spoke, he had already taken a new pair of latex gloves from the investigation box, skillfully putting them on.

Then he carefully touched the edge of the green substance with the side of his index finger.

To everyone’s surprise, the green substance easily ca off, transferring to the gloves with a gentle wipe.

Jiang An then raised the glove with the green substance to eye level, and the three of them imdiately leaned in, their heads nearly touching.

In the midday sun, the green particles showed a peculiar fluorescent texture.

Upon close inspection, one could vaguely see fine fibrous structures, resembling fragnts of so plant.

"Senior Brother, Senior Sister, based on your experience, what could this green substance possibly be in a rural environnt? I feel this texture is quite unique."

Zhang Yean smiled helplessly and unconsciously twirled a strand of her hanging hair.

"You’ve stumped with this one."

"I grew up in the city and rarely even went to the vegetable market, so it’s really difficult for to answer questions about rural matters."

As she spoke, Zhang Yean turned to Wan with a look of anticipation, "Senior Brother, didn’t you often say you grew up in the countryside?"

Wan also spread his hands helplessly, gesturing in the air with his fingers: "I did live in the countryside for a few years, but this particular green substance..."

He strained to recall his childhood mories, his brow furrowed deeply, but eventually, he shook his head.

"I really have no impression."

"If it were crops or vegetables, I could recognize them, but this..."

Just as the three fell into confusion, Jiang An’s gaze shifted past them to Mr. Zhang and the other officers maintaining order on the scene not far away.

These police officers, familiar with every inch of the local land, might provide crucial clues.

Jiang An quickly walked over, raising the glove with the green substance.

"Mr. Zhang, could you and the guys help take a look at this?"

Unexpectedly, the young officers, upon seeing the green substance on the forensic glove, all showed a look of distress on their faces simultaneously.

So even unconsciously stepped back half a step, eyes flickering.

Jiang An then realized that his forensic identity, combined with professional gloves, might have caused them psychological pressure.

He imdiately explained gently, deliberately softening his voice: "Don’t be nervous, these are brand-new disposable gloves."

"They haven’t touched any specins today, absolutely clean."

As he spoke, he made a point of rotating his wrist to show the glove’s integrity, "See, the packaging is still intact."

Zhang Kun laughed heartily, stepping forward to pat the young officers on the shoulder.

"Look at your courage!"

"Didn’t you often say you wanted to learn from the city bureau experts? Now the opportunity is right in front of you, and you’re not seizing it."

He then leaned in to observe closely but quickly furrowed his brow again: "The quantity is too little. I can’t be sure."

"It looks a bit like... green paint? But it’s not quite the sa..."

At this mont, a thin, dark-skinned officer suddenly pushed to the front.

He rubbed his rough hands, sowhat shyly saying: "Mr. Zhang, do you think it could be that common moss in rural areas?"

"The kind that grows in damp places..."

He gestured with his hands as he spoke, "By the water well at my old ho, this kind of green, slippery thing grew all the ti."

"Moss?"

Jiang An’s eyes lit up, imdiately seizing this clue and asking, his tone involuntarily accelerating: "Where would moss like this typically grow?"

The officer, seeing the city bureau expert taking his opinion seriously, perked up imdiately.

He straightened his back and answered, "The most common places are shady spots in forests or the edges of water wells in rural areas."

Because the edges of wells are usually built with stones and remain damp for long periods, moss easily grows there. I used to get scolded often as a kid for slipping on these mossy areas!"

Jiang An’s mind raced, continuing to ask: "Is there a dense forest nearby?"

Zhang Kun shook his head, answering: "There’s none nearby!"

Upon receiving a negative response, he imdiately thought of another possibility, "If there’s no forest, doesn’t that an it might likely be from a farmhouse water well?"

Zhang Kun nodded approvingly, taking over the conversation.

"That’s very possible."

He further added, "Our area hasn’t been connected to a city water supply yet, so almost every household has their own well."

"However..." he changed his tone, "not every well has moss growing around it either."
