Jiang An stood at the entrance of the living room, took a deep breath, and couldn’t help but furrow his brows.

Looking into the room, all the information from the case files kept resurfacing in Jiang An’s mind.

The scenes before him were more vivid and lifelike than the photos in the files.

Wan and Zhang Yean stood on either side of Jiang An.

The entire space was terrifyingly silent, even their breathing was almost imperceptible.

They, like Jiang An, held their breath, waiting for Jiang An’s next step.

Jiang An’s gaze was involuntarily fixed on the dry bloodstains on the floor.

Over ti, the originally bright red bloodstains had turned dark brown.

So key areas were marked with chalk, the white markings standing out starkly against the dark stains.

Just as Jiang An was lost in thought, Zhang Yean suddenly spoke, breaking the silence: "Junior brother, as I recall, the bloodstains mainly appeared in the living room."

Wan promptly added, "When we discovered it, the three victims were all inside the living room."

"There was a large pool of blood in the living room, but it’s hard to see clearly now as ti has passed."

Jiang An nodded slightly, his gaze never leaving the floor.

In his mind, the cri scene photos flashed repeatedly, as if the three cold bodies were still lying on the ground right in front of him.

For a relatively new officer, a massacre like this was very rare for Jiang An.

What kind of deep-seated hatred would drive soone to such brutality?

Especially thinking of a small child amongst them, Jiang An felt a tightness in his chest.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm his emotions, and took protective shoe covers and gloves from his pocket, carefully putting them on.

This was a cri scene investigation principle that must be strictly followed.

As long as the case remains unsolved, the scene must remain unchanged, as every tiny trace of evidence could be a crucial clue to solving the case.

Jiang An carefully walked into the living room, standing beside the dry pools and stains of blood, lost in deep thought.

At this mont, an important question was swirling in Jiang An’s mind.

If the bloodstains were concentrated in this area, does it suggest that the fatal confrontation between the killer and the victims happened here?

Was the primary site of the fight and murder right here?

Thinking of this, Jiang An could not help but turn his head towards the courtyard entrance.

He had walked nearly a hundred ters from outside the courtyard to get in here.

With such a large courtyard, why did the struggle occur in the living room and not at the courtyard entrance?

Since the killer was able to get inside the courtyard, how did he manage it?

A killer capable of committing such a ruthless massacre shouldn’t be an ordinary person.

Jiang An quietly calculated in his mind, if it was a lone killer, could he truly have such formidable control?

This question lingered in Jiang An’s mind.

After a mont, Jiang An turned his head towards the courtyard entrance and said to Zhang Yean, "Senior sister, please check if there are any signs of damage to the gate lock."

Zhang Yean nodded in understanding and turned to walk quickly out.

Jiang An’s gaze returned to the bloodstains before him, and he slowly crouched down, carefully examining the patterns of the dark red bloodstains on the ground.

By the wall, there was a particularly large area of dark brown stain, much more intense in color than the others. From Jiang An’s experience, this was likely a pool of blood.

dically speaking, to form such a large pool of blood would require severe bleeding from a ruptured major vessel.

Recalling that the two adult victims had open wounds on their necks, Jiang An could almost confirm that this was exactly where the last two victims fell.

So where did the initial bleeding occur?

Crouching on the floor, Jiang An scrutinized the dried pool of blood with keen eyes.

He slowly moved his gaze, extending his observation outward from the pool, missing no detail.

He first checked the floor ticulously, then turned his gaze to the left wall, finally focusing on the sofa area.

On the edge where the sofa fabric t the wall, he found sothing unusual—there were dark brown drip-like changes.

These dark brown marks weren’t on the floor but distributed along the edge of the sofa fabric.

Despite the passage of ti, these pinpoint bloodstains on the fabric were still clearly visible.

What stood out even more was a strip of dark brown stain about four centiters long among these pinpoint bloodstains.

Jiang An imdiately stood up, quickly walked over to the sofa, and crouched down again to closely examine this suspicious mark.

At this point, Wan also approached.

Seeing Jiang An’s intense focus, he couldn’t help but ask curiously, "What’s special about this stain? It just looks like ordinary bloodstains."

Jiang An didn’t answer imdiately but pondered and then questioned, "Do you think this strip of bloodstain about four centiters long is normal?"

"Isn’t its shape too regular?"

Wan was montarily speechless, frowning as he pressed on, "Regular? What do you an? Aren’t bloodstains like this?"

Jiang An patiently explained, "When I say regular, I an its shape doesn’t fit the characteristics of natural dripping."

"If these were naturally dripping bloodstains, they would typically form circular or oval spots with small feathered edges."

"But this mark’s edges are neat, the shape is straight, more like an imprint left by so bloodstained object pressed on it."
