Jiang An’s mouth twitched unnaturally, "Thank you for your concern, Captain."

"However, my mind is full of this case now."

"A case? Is there a new case?"

Li Jian asked casually as he sorted the docunts on the table.

"It’s still that old case."

Jiang An’s voice suddenly beca low, and his eyes turned sharp.

Hearing the words "old case," Li Jian’s movents paused, and his expression beca complicated.

He sighed deeply, "It’s good to have a dedication to solving cases, but don’t put too much pressure on yourself."

He walked around the desk and sat down on the chair opposite Jiang An.

"Both Mr. Ma and I support your decision to reopen the investigation and hope there will be a breakthrough."

"But you need to know that there are a myriad of things in the criminal investigation team, and it’s impossible to focus all your energy on this one case."

The atmosphere in the office was sowhat heavy for a mont.

Li Jian took a sip from his teacup and continued, "So cases are like locked doors that require finding the right key."

"Before finding it, no amount of brute force can open it."

He put down the teacup and looked at Jiang An gently, "I’ve noticed you haven’t been in good spirits lately. Do you need a break?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang An straightened his back imdiately, "Captain, I have a new idea about that case."

His eyes were shining brightly with excitent.

Li Jian nodded, "Go ahead, as long as the conditions allow, both Mr. Ma and I will fully support you."

Jiang An took a deep breath, his hands unconsciously clenching and unclenching, "I want to exhu the ancestor’s tomb of the deceased."

With a "clatter" sound, the teapot almost slipped from Li Jian’s hands, causing hot water to splash all over the table.

He hurriedly wiped it with a cloth, his face full of shock.

"My God! You’re planning to dig up soone’s ancestral tomb first thing in the morning?"

As an experienced captain of the criminal investigation team, he was well aware of the weight this idea carried.

In rural areas, ancestral tombs are sacred and inviolable, especially since the family has already suffered a massacre.

Even without direct relatives, those distant relatives would never easily agree to such a "disrespectful" act.

If not handled properly, not only would the case remain unsolved, but it might also trigger mass incidents, causing serious social repercussions.

After a brief silence, Li Jian’s expression beca extrely serious.

"Jiang An, exhuming a tomb is no small matter."

"First of all, you must obtain family consent, and consider the social impact."

"If accused of violating law enforcent, the consequences would be unimaginable."

His fingers unconsciously tapped on the table, showing inner anxiety.

Jiang An was prepared, nodding steadily, "Captain, I’ve considered all of this."

"I plan to take a ’courtesy before force’ approach."

"Among the deceased’s family are his cousin and his niece, they are the closest relatives."

His voice was full of confidence, "As long as we do a good job with them, exhuming for autopsy shouldn’t be a problem."

Seeing Jiang An’s confident deanor, Li Jian was worried.

"Solving cases and public relations are two different things."

"We can use various thods against suspects, but dealing with the public requires careful handling."

He stood up, pacing back and forth in the office, "You might think this is just law enforcent, but to the family, it’s a great disrespect to the deceased, touching their most sensitive nerve."

"Captain, I’ve carefully studied this situation."

"The family has kept three bodies in the morgue, which is not only costly but also signifies their eager hope for the case to be solved so the deceased can rest in peace."

His voice was firm and strong, "I believe I can convince them."

Faced with Jiang An’s determined gaze, Li Jian finally just let out a deep sigh.

"I appreciate your dedication, but everything must be done with moderation."

He walked back to his desk, "Alright, go ahead and do the groundwork first, but be sure to pay attention to your thods."

"If you encounter difficulties, I’ll consult with Mr. Ma to see if we can seek more support."

Upon hearing this, Jiang An felt a warm current in his heart, and his tense nerves relaxed a bit.

At least for this hurdle, Captain Li Jian was supporting him.

Of course, he’s not a cold-hearted case-solving machine; he’s well aware of rural traditions and taboos.

After all, digging up soone else’s ancestral tomb for an autopsy is a big deal, and a careless mistake could provoke strong resistance from the villagers.

Walking out of Captain Li Jian’s office, Jiang An pushed open the office door and saw Zhang Yean and Wan sitting by the sofa and tea table, standing up as he entered.

"Brothers and sisters, how co you’re here?"

Jiang An asked in surprise.

"Hey, we’re here to fight alongside you, aren’t we?"

Wan laughed heartily, "First thing in the morning, I heard from my junior sister that she wanted to track down that lost money."

"It just so happened that I wanted to join you, maybe if you solve the case, I could share the credit and get a third-class personal rit."

As he spoke, he winked mischievously and added, "Though it sounds a bit corny, my main goal is still to solve the case."

At this, Jiang An’s lips curled into a aningful smile, "Brothers and sisters, we might be doing sothing unusual today—exhumation."

"Exhuming what?"

The two of them didn’t react for a mont, asking in unison.

Jiang An took a deep breath and explained in detail, "By exhumation, I an opening a coffin."

"Last night, I stayed up all night thinking about this case, and it’s most likely that the money is hidden in the most unexpected place."

"Huh?" Zhang Yean’s eyes widened in surprise, "His family’s ancestral tomb is not small, counting down they have generations of people."

Jiang An confidently analyzed, "It’s okay, we can search slowly."

"If the money was really hidden in a coffin, when he opened it, he would definitely not do it publicly, surely he’d make special arrangents to cover it up."

"What we’re looking for are these unusual traces."

Zhang Yean froze for two seconds before coming to her senses, shaking her head with a wry smile.

"Your deduction last night already opened my eyes."

"I didn’t expect just starting work today, you gave an even bigger ’surprise.’

"Your case-solving thought process is challenging my professional understanding baseline."

She paused for a mont and continued, "In all my years on the criminal investigation front line, this is the first ti I’ve encountered such... a unique way of solving cases."

Wan also laughed and said, "Even our experienced Mr. Ma and Mr. Li have never used such an unexpected investigation thod."

Hearing this, Jiang An couldn’t help but laugh, "Sis and bro, are you praising or roasting ?"

"Of course, we’re praising you!" Zhang Yean also laughed.

"All’s fair in love and war, case solving can’t be bound by conventions."

Wan nodded repeatedly in agreent, "I’ve experienced that firsthand."

"Take the cases you’ve solved since coming to the criminal investigation team; we couldn’t find a breakthrough using conventional thods."

"In the end, your unexpected ideas resolved the case smoothly."

He gestured animatedly, and his tone was full of admiration.

Jiang An suddenly said seriously, "Brothers and sisters, you guys putting on a pedestal right away, are you pressuring ?"

"Haha, don’t overthink it!"

Wan laughed, patting Jiang An on the shoulder, "As long as you lead us to solve the case, my sister and I will definitely be convinced."

"Then based on rit and reward, a personal third-class rit is definitely yours."

The office fell silent for a mont, and the three exchanged smiles.

Finally, Jiang An spoke solemnly, "Thank you, brothers and sisters, for your trust."

"I’ve always believed that there’s no perfect cri in this world."

"So cases’ truths are yet to be revealed simply because we haven’t found that key breakthrough point."

"But as long as we persist, we will eventually discover that gap and allow the sunshine of justice to shine through."
