As he spoke, Li Wei’s voice gradually beca low and trembling, his fingers unconsciously twisted tightly, as if silently resisting so emotion tearing him apart from within.

"Finally, one day, I just couldn’t hold back... I secretly followed them."

He paused for a mont, a hint of unbearable pain flashing in his eyes.

"I just watched as they went into the hotel together."

"At that mont, I felt completely drained, my brain buzzing."

"Anger, despair, disbelief... all these emotions swirled together, almost making lose control."

"I wanted to rush in there and—"

He choked up, took a deep breath as if to suppress the violence threatening to burst forth, "but I ultimately held back, I didn’t barge in."

"I just wanted to find Zhang Qian and have her tell the truth, hear her acknowledge it... or deny it."

"I just wanted an answer."

His tone carried the last embers of hope, faint yet stubborn.

"But when I reached her ho, it was her father who opened the door. As soon as he saw , he started cursing without letting speak, saying I was a ’toad lusting after swan at’... claiming I wasn’t worthy of his daughter."

Li Wei’s voice grew lower, almost becoming a suppressed monologue, "He shoved hard, rejecting out the door."

"That night, after drinking a little, I tossed and turned, unable to sleep. The more I thought, the more suffocated and frustrated I felt... in a mont of heat, I ended up grabbing a knife."

His tone beca urgent, as if still swept up in the emotions of that night.

"But I never intended to kill anyone..."

"I just wanted to force her to face , give an explanation, even if it was just a lie..."

He closed his eyes, his voice finally collapsing.

"But once more, it was her father who opened the door."

"When he saw , he cursed even more viciously, those words like knives piercing into my heart... I completely lost control, pulling out the knife and stabbed at him..."

Half an hour later, the interrogation was over.

Li Wei’s account of the cri matched Jiang An’s deduction exactly.

The case was finally solved, and the weight on everyone’s heart was lifted.

In the corridor outside the interrogation room, Jiang An smiled slightly and turned to look at Wan, Jiang Feng, and the others beside him.

"Everyone worked hard this ti."

"Even though the process was fraught with difficulties, we ultimately solved this case, thanks to everyone’s efforts."

Wan smiled and chid in, his tone genuinely respectful: "Honestly, I really admire you."

"When arresting the suspect, you were so close yet remained calm."

"If it were , I might not have been able to handle it, maybe even had to use so force."

Jiang An waved his hand, his expression gentle yet serious: "Don’t say that."

"For suspects who’ve reached their breaking point, in so ways they have nothing left to lose."

"If in the end, we can offer a bit of human respect and listening, perhaps it can break the deadlock."

He paused briefly and added: "In a way, this is also overcoming hardness with softness."

Beside him, Jiang Feng also laughed, half-jokingly saying: "Honestly, your approach really reminded of those strategists from ancient tis—defeating the enemy invisibly through conversation and laughter."

"Without deploying a single troop, yet winning the toughest battle."

Jiang An was amused by the two, shaking his head and said: "Your flattery is too loud, I’m embarrassed to respond."

Wan and Jiang Feng exchanged a smile, speaking with a bit of admiration: "Mr. Jiang, we really learned a lot by following you this ti."

"Your on-the-spot adaptability and psychological breakthrough skills will definitely co in handy for us in the future."

Jiang An, however, shook his head slightly, a gentle yet complex smile at the corner of his mouth: "Such situations, the fewer we encounter, the better."

"If the suspect is truly bent on seeking death, no matter how much we try to guide them, we might not always be able to make them put down their obsession and willingly cooperate."

The three continued their conversation in low voices as they slowly walked towards the outside of the interrogation room.

As they pushed open the glass door, they saw Mr Li approaching.

As soon as Mr Li saw them, he raised his hand and heavily patted Jiang An on the shoulder, his voice loud: "So you’re here!"

"I just heard the case has been cracked, well done! Thanks for your hard work!"

Jiang An smiled modestly and replied: "Mr Li, you’re flattering ."

Li Jian continued: "Resolving this smoothly this ti was all thanks to your trendous support earlier on and that crucial communication on site."

"If you hadn’t stabilized the situation, the consequences would have been unimaginable."

"Especially those final words you said, which directly disard the suspect—saving a victim, that’s truly mastery."

Jiang An just smiled and said sowhat seriously: "Mr Li, if I didn’t know you were backing us up, with the riot police and special forces in position, I wouldn’t have dared advance like that?"

"Honestly, your positioning of snipers and orderly coordination made feel very assured."

"Even if negotiations had collapsed, we all had our contingencies."

He took a step forward and once again patted Jiang An’s shoulder, his voice lowered a bit: "Honestly, watching you approach the suspect step by step, my palms were sweating."

"The walkie-talkie was in my grip the whole ti, ready to call the action team to protect you."

Then, Mr Li’s tone shifted, becoming more solemn: "This case involved multiple deaths, had a significant social impact, and the provincial departnt is greatly concerned."

"Originally, they were preparing to send soone down to help, but I reported that we were close to solving the case, and they were all very surprised."

"Especially after hearing the entire handling process, the Chief of Criminal Investigation specifically nad you to go up and give a special report."
