Chapter 1046: Chapter 656: Dead Again

“Brother Liu, do you believe in this stuff?” Wu Dao couldn’t help but ask Liu Hun when he saw the Poison Queen speaking with such conviction.

“This place is truly strange, anything could appear, and it might not be as mysterious as shows on TV suggest,” Liu Hun pondered for a mont, neither confirming nor denying.

Because Liu Hun clearly rembered the scene he had experienced within the Gate of Life and Death, and if he really thought about it, those things could be considered a type of ghost.

After all, they had no physical form, yet their power could truly affect the human body, so Liu Hun was unsure about this matter.

However, judging by the current situation, it seed to differ from what he had encountered before in the Gate of Life and Death.

“That’s true. In this eerie place, even the Yellow Sand Python and Undying Skeletons have appeared, so this thing is no surprise,” Wu Dao nodded, expressing agreent.

“You encountered the Yellow Sand Python and Undying Skeletons before?” Old Bai, who had rarely spoken, suddenly exclaid.

“Why, is there a problem?” Wu Dao looked at his subordinate Liu Hun with so confusion.

Initially, Wu Dao thought Old Bai was Liu Hun’s valet, but over this short ti, Wu Dao could see that their relationship was not like that.

Those who accompanied Liu Hun into this place were certainly not simple characters; otherwise, with Wu Dao’s temperant, he wouldn’t have bothered with an old man like Old Bai at all.

“Isn’t this stuff always just a rumor? How could it appear here, and you managed to escape alive?” Old Bai looked at them in shock.

“Haha, it’s all thanks to Brother Liu. Without him, we don’t know how many tis we’d have died,” Wu Dao wore a smile, seemingly enjoying the admiration, looking very proud.

His deanor was as if he had handled those things himself.

Even the Poison Queen, upon hearing Wu Dao’s words, showed a hint of doubt and surprise in her beautiful eyes.

She thought Liu Hun and Wu Dao hadn’t encountered the Yellow Sand Python, as she had truly felt the horror of it.

But even if they did encounter the Yellow Sand Python, for them to still be alive made the Poison Queen start to have so thoughts.

Her life was completely in Liu Hun’s hands, and perhaps with just a thought, she could die without a trace; Liu Hun’s power exceeded her expectations.

As these thoughts weighed on the Poison Queen’s mind, she suddenly looked up, sensing Liu Hun smiling at her, and her face turned sowhat pale.

Liu Hun’s smile was definitely not accidental, although she knew about the Golden Gu, she didn’t know how powerful it was.

“Could he sense my thoughts?” Suddenly, this notion rose in the Poison Queen’s mind.

The mont this thought erged, her expression turned extrely unpleasant. If this were true, she would have no secrets in front of Liu Hun.

Liu Hun looked deeply at the Poison Queen before turning his gaze to Old Bai and Wu Dao, continuing, “Alright, let’s set this matter aside for now; perhaps it’s just a coincidence. Nothing has happened yet, everyone prepare to enter this mountain soon.”

An hour passed quickly, and as the first rays of dawn appeared on the horizon, a soft golden glow spread across the land.

When the golden light fell upon the stone gate of the mountain, the gate emitted a creaking sound.

At that mont, everyone’s gaze fixated on the stone gate, as if afraid of missing sothing.

From the heavy sound, it was easy for everyone to judge that the stone gate was extrely heavy, and opening it with conventional power was obviously impossible.

“As the sun rises in the east, at month’s end, shining with golden light, revealing the wilderness…” As the stone gate slowly opened, Liu Hun couldn’t help but mutter under his breath.

“What does it an? Brother Liu, can you say sothing normal?” Wu Dao asked Liu Hun with a confused expression after hearing this.

“I saw this in an ancient book. I didn’t understand what it ant, but now I get it. The next journey may be dangerous, so everyone should stick close to avoid mishaps.” Liu Hun did not explain much to Wu Dao.

The gate did not take long to open completely; in less than a minute, it was fully opened.

Inside the gate, it was pitch black, without a trace of light, even as dawn poured in, the darkness inside seed to swallow the light.

“I’ll lead the way this ti, everyone follow behind us,” Qin Tao said to the crowd as the stone gate fully opened.

After Qin Tao finished speaking, a few of his n imdiately took out torches from their backpacks, lit them, and walked inside.

“In this day and age, they’re still using torches. What a bunch of bumpkins,” Wu Dao glanced at Qin Tao and his n with disdain.

Upon hearing Wu Dao’s words, Qin Tao paused for a mont and turned to glance at Wu Dao, a slight smile on his lips, then continued walking into the stone gate.

The remaining people followed suit, making a few simple torches and went inside, while others held flashlights.

Seeing Qin Tao enter, Wu Dao didn’t hesitate and led his n along with Liu Hun and others inside.

But as soon as he stepped through the stone gate and turned on his flashlight, his expression turned quite shocked.

The flashlight had no effect inside the mountain; the beam was swallowed by the surrounding darkness as soon as it shone.

Only Qin Tao and his group holding the torches could vaguely see a few ters around them.

“In this place, flashlights are useless; otherwise, I wouldn’t have prepared torches,” Qin Tao’s voice ca from ahead as Wu Dao grumbled.

Hearing Qin Tao’s voice, Wu Dao couldn’t help but curse under his breath; then he ordered his n to go out and make so simple torches.

By the ti his n finished making torches, the others had already gone inside, leaving only Liu Hun, Wu Dao, and their group.

“Damn it, that guy must’ve known all along and deliberately didn’t tell !” Wu Dao said angrily as he lit the torch.

“Fine, he didn’t have to tell you anyway. And he’s already leading the way up front. What more do you want?” Liu Hun shook his head, took a torch, and began walking forward.

Inside this mountain, it seed as if the entire mountain had been hollowed out; digging so many tunnels in such a majestic mountain was no easy feat.

Plus, the further inside they went, the hotter the air beca, much like the passage in the Loulan Emperor’s tomb before.

Though the temperature was strange back then, there were no problems; yet now, Liu Hun felt uneasy.

“We’ve been walking for about half an hour, theoretically, even in such a large mountain, we should’ve reached the end; why haven’t we seen it yet? It’s really odd,” Wu Dao said irritably after walking for about half an hour.

Upon hearing Wu Dao’s words, Liu Hun laughed lightly, “At this rate, who knows how long it will take to reach the end.”

“Why?” Wu Dao looked at Liu Hun in confusion.

“Because we are slowly descending into the earth. Although the slope isn’t obvious, just pay a little attention and you’ll notice this subtle issue, so nobody can judge how far the end is underground,” Liu Hun said solemnly.

“Ah…” While they were talking, a sudden scream echoed down the tunnel ahead.

Upon hearing this, Liu Hun and the others’ faces changed slightly, and they quickly followed.

When they arrived at the scene, they saw Qin Tao and his group looking pale, and before them, two bodies were laid out.

The manner of death of these two bodies was identical to those they encountered outside.

“What exactly happened?” Wu Dao approached Qin Tao and questioned him.

The only one who could speak to Qin Tao like this in the group was Wu Dao, as both ca from prominent families and were evenly matched in status and position.

“I’m not sure either. We were walking when suddenly a chilling wind swept past, and the next thing I knew, my two n ended up this way,” Qin Tao replied slowly to Wu Dao and the others, his face pale.

This incident proved that the people who died outside hadn’t been killed by anyone among them, yet precisely because of this, an aura of death hung over everyone’s hearts.

This silent and unseen thod of death was terrifying; they hadn’t even seen how those two had died.

“Wind? How could there be wind in such a tunnel? If it was shortly after we entered, maybe it would be normal for wind to blow in, but after walking for so long, it’s impossible,” Wu Dao pondered, frowning.

Qin Tao understood the logic, but that scene was inexplicable, and he indeed felt the chilling wind.

If he had been at the front, perhaps it would’ve been him lying there instead of his two n.
