Capítulo 1485: Chapter 804: Looking Back on the Past
Lin Feng shook off the old man’s hand, wiped the tears from his eyes with the back of his hand, and resolutely turned to leave. The eighteen years of helplessness and desolation were forever cast behind him at this mont. Ahead of him lay the path to becoming the number one in the Six Realms—who else but him!
“Lin boy, ti is running out. Are you really planning to go to the top floor of the Piaomiao Pavilion?” Hua Shengmi asked with so concern.
Lin Feng nodded without hesitation and took a step up to the top floor of the Piaomiao Pavilion.
What presented itself to Lin Feng on the top floor of Piaomiao Pavilion was not countless rare treasures, nor a splendid decoration of blooming flowers, but a cold cave filled with chanical arrays and scattered with corpses.
“Are you here for treasure?” a sharp and piercing voice ca from beneath Lin Feng’s feet. Looking down, he saw a knee-high dwarf with a sharp nose and monkey-like face, bouncing around as he looked at Lin Feng.
Lin Feng simply nodded without replying, his gaze exploring around. Deep in the cave, there was a seemingly frozen fla, shining brightly.
That should be the supre treasure of the Piaomiao Pavilion, Lin Feng thought, unable to suppress a little excitent in his heart.
“Ha ha ha ha ha, foolish human! You’ll never obtain the treasures of the Piaomiao Pavilion!” the ugly dwarf cackled as he circled around Lin Feng, continuously mocking him.
“Why?” Though Lin Feng found the dwarf annoying, he couldn’t help but ask.
“Because…” the dwarf smiled sinisterly, his hands placed behind his back, “these treasures are nothing but illusions, re mirages that don’t truly exist! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!”
The dwarf’s sharp, grating laughter infuriated Lin Feng, making him retort, “Impossible!”
“Oh, really?” The dwarf suddenly ceased laughing, and from behind himself, drew out a short knife and slashed it toward Lin Feng’s legs.
Completely unprepared, Lin Feng quickly flipped backward, but his left leg was still nicked by the dwarf. Just as he was about to speak, he saw the dwarf swiftly lunging with the knife once more.
“Don’t dodge! As long as you believe everything here is an illusion, it can’t hurt you!” Hua Shengmi’s words rang out just in ti. Lin Feng imdiately dismissed the idea of evasion and faced the dwarf and his short knife head-on.
Sothing strange happened. The short knife that had just cut his leg now bizarrely passed straight through Lin Feng from head to toe, leaving him unscathed.
The sinister smile on the dwarf’s face froze, anger turning into a flurry of slashing fury at Lin Feng—strikes that seed to hit but drew no blood.
“Hah-chir, hah-chir…” The dwarf, eyes bulging with rage, made an odd sound, “If you don’t believe these things are real, you can’t take anything from here.”
After saying this, the dwarf ceased his attacks, rely standing beside Lin Feng, provocatively watching him, eager to see how he would resolve this.
Lin Feng found himself in a dilemma. To take the supre treasure, he must believe everything here was real, including the chanical arrays before him and a pesky, difficult dwarf. If he did not believe, it would be as if he ca here for nothing.
Perhaps first going to see exactly what that red object was, Lin Feng thought, it might be best to take a closer look.
Traversing over desiccated bodies and skeletons, triggering countless traps and arrays, with the dwarf’s jeers and taunts filling his ears, Lin Feng calmly walked toward that mass of red, facing deadly traps calmly.
Within a peculiar, cup-shaped rock lay a fist-sized fla, crimson throughout, persistently sparking, like a seed brimming with vibrant life force ready to erupt.
Lin Feng barely discerned that there seed to be a flickering “fire” character within the fla’s center.
“What is this?” Lin Feng asked Hua Shengmi in his mind.
“Mysterious energy… Eight Shaped Characters!”
Chapter Nine: Senior Brother
Lin Feng could distinctly feel the shock in Hua Shengmi’s youthful tone, “Is the Mysterious Qi Eight Shaped Characters a cultivation technique?”
“Yes! Similar to the Sixth Reincarnation Power sealed within the Reincarnation Beast, but different. As long as you obtain it and diligently cultivate, you can master it. The Mysterious Qi Eight Shaped Characters is divided into eight elents: Fire, Wind, Thunder, Marsh, Water, Earth, Sky. Mastering each form produces a corresponding ‘manifestation’. For example, by using the Fire Character Technique, flas will sprout from your hands, blinding like the blazing sun. Additionally, each form has an external and an internal manifestation. Attain the spell for external manifestation, but to grasp the ‘inner’ essence, you need to rge with a Spiritual Artifact.”
Lin Feng, being diligent in the outer academy, had heard of the cultivation techniques of the Six Great Sects in the Human Realm, and knew that many mysterious techniques require rging with a Spiritual Artifact for qualitative breakthroughs—the better the Spiritual Artifact, the greater the power of the technique, complenting each other. But this Mysterious Qi Eight Shaped Characters was sothing he heard of for the first ti.
“…The external manifestation of the first six forms appears outwardly, while the inner manifestations are subtle, and the most powerful are in the Earth and Sky forms. I’ve only seen the ‘Earth’ form.” Hua Shengmi explained and added, “The Mysterious Qi Eight Shaped Characters is born of heaven and earth, unmatched by worldly cultivation techniques. It is unconstrained by any realm, potentially appearing anywhere. Mastering even one character is enough to dominate a realm… but, Lin boy, your ti for Ascension is fast approaching.”
“Ha ha ha ha ha, leave! Leave you greedy coward! You will never obtain it!” the ugly dwarf leapt around Lin Feng, his hideous face intermittently coming close.
“Lin boy, there’s no ti!” Hua Shengmi urged anxiously, understanding how challenging it was to enter Piaomiao Pavilion and knowing how difficult it was for Lin Feng to overco his ntal blocks, naturally not wishing to miss this opportunity.
