"Lin boy, you go try it and you’ll see." Hua Shengmi didn’t explain further.

Lin Feng, holding the short knife with skepticism, intentionally selected a not-so-thick giant wood bamboo, and swung it forcefully. It felt just like cutting tofu when cooking back in the lower courtyard, effortlessly slicing through the giant wood bamboo.

"This..." Lin Feng was incredulous as he looked at the knife in his hand. He rembered the stewards saying that giant wood bamboo was top-tier crafting material, harder than tal and stone yet more flexible than rush silk, often valued like gold. How could this unremarkable blade cut through it so easily?

"Lin boy, don’t underestimate this knife. It’s called the ’Wood Breaking Blade,’ and along with the ’Awakening Wood Pen’ and the ’Wood Capturing Plate,’ they are known as the ’Three Supre Treasures of the Jade Wood.’ When the universe first ford at the dawn of ti, these three supre treasures of wood ca into existence. The ’Wood Breaking Blade’ can cut through any wood under the heavens; nothing with a wood attribute can resist its edge. The ’Awakening Wood Pen’ can awaken all ignorant wood in the world, granting it intelligence, making it a coveted treasure for all wood spirits hoping to cultivate a form. The ’Wood Capturing Plate’ can command and control any form made of wood in the world."

Listening to Hua Shengmi, Lin Feng rembered the Spirit Awakening Jade he obtained at the Piaomiao Pavilion, "By that account, the ’Awakening Wood Pen’ is much better than the Spirit Awakening Jade."

Unexpectedly, Hua Shengmi countered, "You’re wrong. Although the Spirit Awakening Jade can only be used once, it doesn’t require spiritual energy to activate, whereas the ’Awakening Wood Pen’ does require spiritual energy. Enough talk. Go and check if this woman has the ’Awakening Wood Pen’ on her."

Lin Feng felt around the soft waist.

Lin Feng suddenly felt awkward and was about to withdraw his hand when his fingers touched sothing hard. He pulled it out, and sure enough, it was a brush, green and delicate like a slender bamboo stalk.

"Yes! That’s it! Now quickly, make a flying cha and use the ’Awakening Wood Pen’ to awaken it; then we can fly directly to Biyao’s Spirit Root."

Regaining his focus, Lin Feng imdiately got to work. The Wood Breaking Blade was more efficient than any tool, and within an hour, a peregrine falcon, half the height of a person and covered with bamboo leaf wings, ca to life.

"Now, place the ’Awakening Wood Pen’ on the falcon’s forehead, and infuse it with spiritual energy to awaken it."

Following Hua Shengmi’s instructions, Lin Feng placed the Awakening Wood Pen on the falcon’s forehead. With a burst of spiritual energy, the white energy, after breaking through a Spirit Knot, flowed into the Awakening Wood Pen and imdiately turned into green spiritual energy, rippling throughout the falcon’s body.

"Screech!" Accompanied by a cry, the falcon’s eyes, made of bamboo roots, began to whirl, scanning Lin Feng up and down before it imdiately nestled its head against Lin Feng’s face.

Lin Feng laughed, tickled. Unexpectedly, the mont it awoke, it displayed intelligence, "From today, you are my mount, Lin Feng." He patted the falcon’s head, which seed to understand, bouncing on the spot.

After calming the falcon, Lin Feng placed the Awakening Wood Pen and Wood Breaking Blade back into the woman’s garnts, mounted her on the falcon, and at the falcon’s cry, its wings made of bamboo leaves unfurled and flapped skyward.

"Lin boy, have you heard of the Chaos War?" Hua Shengmi suddenly asked.

Lin Feng nodded, "I’ve heard the stewards recount it. Thousands of years ago, an unknown master appeared in the Saintly Odd Realm, proclaiming himself the Mysterious Lord. In a short ti, he unified the entire Saintly Odd Realm and, through sheer might, broke the Thunder Pond, leading the Saintly Odd Realm army to attack the Clear Spirit Realm. Within a century, the Clear Spirit Realm fell completely. Sensing the threat, the Mortal Realm and Hunluo Realm joined the war. Liao Qianji, the founder of the Star-Gazing Pavilion, established the pavilion and led its disciples to resist the invaders. Later, the Mysterious Lord perished, the Saintly Odd Realm army was driven back to overseas lands, and the Clear Spirit Realm was restored, bringing peace to the Six Realms for thousands of years afterward."

Recalling the tales told by the stewards, Lin Feng couldn’t help but feel an adrenaline rush upon hearing how the Mysterious Lord broke through the Thunder Pond with overwhelming force — such audacious and unrestrained power that could shatter even earthly prohibitions.

Hua Shengmi continued, "In that world-shaking battle, many innocent lives were dragged in, including the original masters of Biyao, the Giant Wood Clan."

"The masters of Biyao? Isn’t it the Star-Gazing Pavilion?" Lin Feng was puzzled, having been taught that Biyao was the pride and joy of the Star-Gazing Pavilion since he began his education.

"Didn’t you say so yourself? The Star-Gazing Pavilion only rose to prominence thousands of years ago. The nine Spirit Veins in the Mortal Realm, including Biyao, have existed since the beginning of ti in the world, so their original masters were the Giant Wood Clan, not the disciples of the Star-Gazing Pavilion."

Lin Feng looked down at the woman asleep in his arms with a furrowed brow, then asked again, "Where did the Giant Wood Clan co from? How did Biyao end up with the Star-Gazing Pavilion?"

"I’m not sure either; perhaps the Wood of Biyao transford into the Giant Wood Clan, or maybe after the Giant Wood Clan perished, they beca the countless giant wood bamboo of Biyao. As for how it later fell into the hands of the Star-Gazing Pavilion, the sordid details are better left unsaid."

Having gone through so many events, Lin Feng was certainly not a naive fool who would blindly defend the Star-Gazing Pavilion, and he knew Hua Shengmi wouldn’t deceive him. The law of survival in the world is indeed the survival of the fittest; even the self-proclaid righteous sects like the Star-Gazing Pavilion are no exception.

After a pause, Lin Feng suddenly rembered the Reincarnation Netherworld Realm, "Wouldn’t the Giant Wood Clan also enter reincarnation?"

"Of course not; many creatures in this world have their unique ways of survival. Considering the tiline, the birth of the Reincarnation Netherworld Realm wouldn’t predate the Giant Wood Clan."

"So the Giant Wood Clan is that ancient; no wonder they possess the supre treasures of the Jade Wood. If they don’t undergo reincarnation, how do they proliferate?" Lin Feng’s curiosity was piqued, and he gazed at the vast expanse of green before him, feeling an intense curiosity about the Giant Wood Clan.

"Well... maybe you should ask the woman you’re holding when she wakes up." Hua Shengmi cryptically withheld the information.

Lin Feng pursed his lips, "Then how do you know so much?"

"Hmph! I’ve told you before, I’m an Innate Spiritual Seed."

"Just a peanut."

"You little brat!"

"Hahahaha..."

Amid their conversation, the falcon had already flown to Biyao’s Spirit Root. Even at a hundred ters away, Lin Feng’s eyes were entirely occupied by a gigantic green bamboo. A gust of wind caused the massive bamboo leaves to quiver slightly, the overwhelming life force contained in the Spirit Root made Lin Feng feel exhilarated.

"The top of this Spirit Root hosts the Bihua Spirit Pond, capable of healing all injuries and neutralizing worldly poisons, particularly effective for the Giant Wood Clan," Hua Shengmi remarked.

Lin Feng looked up, the enormous Spirit Root soared into the clouds, its end nowhere in sight. He promptly patted the falcon beneath him, "Let’s go! Let’s see what the pinnacle of Biyao’s Spirit Root looks like."

The falcon let out a long cry, flapping its wings vigorously as it carried Lin Feng up towards the top of the Spirit Root.

The sea of green bamboo below gradually vanished, replaced by clusters of white clouds. Lin Feng looked down to see a sea of white clouds, occasionally catching brief glimpses of green through gaps in the clouds. The enormous Spirit Root ahead was similarly surrounded by layers of white clouds, like a veil of white gauze.

Suddenly, the falcon tilted sideways, nearly tossing Lin Feng off. Imdiately following was a deafening cry, clearly not from the falcon beneath them.
