390: Chapter 365 Captured 390: Chapter 365 Captured Facing Hong Decai’s sarcastic provocation, Liu Hun ignored him completely, treating Hong Decai as if he were thin air.

Just then, a reporter asked Liu Hun, “Agent Liu, what do you think about what Director Hong said just now?”

“Shaless, nothing but a jumping clown!” After Liu Hun finished speaking to the reporter and flashed a confident smile, he turned and walked into the police station.

“Shaless, jumping clown…

Liu Hun!” Hong Decai reacted half a beat too slow, and it dawned on him that those two idioms were insults aid at him for being shaless.

He huffed coldly and turned to walk into the police station as well.

The group of reporters, having no alternative, were left standing outside.

They could only stretch their necks and peer inside, hoping that the two from Tianxing Group would co out soon.

After Liu Hun and Hong Decai entered the police station, two officers separated them.

Liu Hun was led to an evidently spacious and well-appointed office where an officer poured him a glass of water and said, “Mr.

Liu, please wait here a mont.

Inspector Li will co to see you shortly.”

“Alright.” Liu Hun acknowledged, and the officer left.

Wondering if the police would disclose Ou Ye’s IOUs publicly, Liu Hun sat in his chair and thought.

If they did, Hong Decai would certainly seize the opportunity to hype up the incident, and many dia would speculate wildly.

Even if the truth was thoroughly investigated, there would still likely be lingering rumors and suspicion.

After finishing his glass of water, Liu Hun glanced at his watch.

Ten minutes had passed, and still, no one had co.

Feeling bored, he stood up to stretch his legs.

Liu Hun scrutinized the layout and furnishing of the office, which appeared quite grand and ticulous.

There was a naplate on the desk that read “Li Ming”, making it clear this was indeed Li Ming’s office.

He wandered around, stopping in front of a glass cabinet displaying Li Ming’s honors and photographs with various celebrities.

Wait!

That’s…

As Liu Hun observed, he suddenly noticed a photograph in the cabinet.

One person in the photo was unmistakably Li Ming, and the other was Hong Decai!

Judging by the date, the photo was nearly two to three years old, which suggested the two had a significant relationship.

No wonder Hong Decai showed up at the police station.

His relation to Ou Ye’s death was non-existent, so he must want to take advantage of this Li Ming for so purpose.

“Click.”

As Liu Hun pondered, the doorknob turned, and he quickly sat back down on the couch.

“Mr.

Liu, sorry to keep you waiting.

I’ve been tied up with official duties, my apologies!” Li Ming arrived with pleasantries.

The two exchanged banalities, and a young officer accompanying Li Ming took out a notebook.

Li Ming then said to Liu Hun, “Mr.

Liu, we’d like to ask you so questions, and we hope for your cooperation.”

“Alright.” Liu Hun nodded, already cautious of Li Ming.

“Young Chen, begin,” Li Ming instructed the young officer beside him.

Young Chen promptly asked Liu Hun, “May I ask, where did you first et Ou Ye, Mr.

Liu?”

“In the office of the Council of Music Producers Association,” Liu Hun answered truthfully.

“Did you know him before that?” the young officer continued.

“No!

I didn’t know him,” Liu Hun replied negatively.

“Did you have any contact after that, or during that first eting, did anything happen between you two?” Young Chen pressed on.

“We didn’t have any contact during the first eting, not even direct conversation.

Later, he approached on his own,” Liu Hun said, starting to alter the story.

“For what?” Young Chen asked alertly, ready to take notes.

“He talked about a collaboration,” Liu Hun said earnestly.

“Can you elaborate?” Young Chen asked.

Liu Hun nodded and continued, “He asked if I needed a producer because he knew I was helping Shi Bi’er prepare her solo album.

But we were pretty much done at that ti, so I turned him down.”

“And then?

Did he say anything else?” Young Chen asked, clearly unsatisfied with the answer.

“After that, I noticed he was hesitating a bit, so I asked if he was in any trouble and if I could help.

He told he was being exploited by a notorious unscrupulous company in the industry and was having financial difficulties,” Liu Hun told Young Chen.

“Did he tell you which company?” Young Chen asked seriously.

After pretending to ponder for a mont, Liu Hun said, “He didn’t specify, but he ntioned that there was soone surnad Hong in the company who was the most shaless and despicable, and he was almost driven to death by this person.”

“Cough!” Li Ming suddenly coughed and then looked at Liu Hun with displeasure, saying coldly, “Mr.

Liu!

This is a police station, don’t make unfounded accusations!”

“I’m not making accusations; everything I said is true, and you can investigate if you don’t believe ,” Liu Hun countered Li Ming, now fully aware that Li Ming must have been sent by Hong Decai to fra him, and Ou Ye was very likely killed by Tianxing Group.

“Investigate?

Where would I go to investigate?

Ou Ye is already dead!” Li Ming said to Liu Hun with clear discontent.

“Turns out Inspector Li’s investigative skills are limited to asking questions to the living,” mocked Liu Hun sarcastically.

“I really admire that you got promoted to inspector with just that.

Admirable!”

“Liu Hun!

What do you an by that?

Are you saying I’m incompetent?” Li Ming suddenly rose to his feet, directly confronting Liu Hun.

Liu Hun shrugged and said, “I didn’t an that.

Why would Inspector Li think so?

Could it be that Inspector Li subconsciously believes it?”

“You…”

“Knock knock knock…

Knock knock knock…”

Li Ming, red-faced and thick-necked with anger and unsure how to retaliate, was interrupted by a knock at the door.

“Who?!” Li Ming glared at Liu Hun with eyes full of resentnt as he asked toward the door outside.

“Inspector Li, Mr.

Hong has urgent business to discuss with you,” ca a voice from outside.

“Hmph!

Little Chen!

Have him bring out the original IOU later!” Li Ming left with those words and marched out.

Watching Li Ming storm off, Little Chen could only offer an awkward smile, went on to finish the paperwork, and then putting on gloves, he said to Liu Hun, “Mr.

Liu, could you please cooperate and show us the original IOU?”

“No problem, but I’d like to see the photocopy from Ou Ye first,” Liu Hun made his own request to Little Chen, rembering that he had kept a copy at the casino.

“That…

I’ll have to ask my superiors first, if you don’t mind waiting, Mr.

Liu,” said Little Chen as he left the office.

He returned in less than three minutes with a photocopy, telling Liu Hun, “Mr.

Liu, this was just copied from the other room; we can’t show you the one we found in Ou Ye’s house for now.”

“It’s fine!” Liu Hun said as he placed the original IOU into the plastic bag Little Chen provided.

“Mr.

Liu, please wait here; we will definitely return this IOU to you,” Little Chen said as he took the plastic bag and left the office.

Liu Hun picked up the photocopy of the IOU and scrutinized it carefully, his lips curling into a sneer when he saw its contents.

The figures and harsh terms written on this copy did not match the original, showing not only a sum of fifty million but also various onerous additional conditions.

Just as Liu Hun was about to lower his left hand, he heard a commotion outside.

His office was close to the entrance of the police station, so it was easy for him to discern the clamor, which he guessed ca from the dia journalists outside.

Perhaps the situation could be seen on television, Liu Hun spotted a TV in the office and decided to turn it on.

“Inspector Li, is there any new developnt in the case concerning Ou Ye?”

“Inspector Li, is there any special significance to you and Mr.

Hong appearing together?”

“Mr.

Hong, what do you think about what Liu Hun previously said to you?”

“…”

The dia sward around the two n, bombarding them with non-stop questions until the police officers finally managed to restore order.

Li Ming cleared his throat and, with an official tone, addressed the reporters, “This case of the mysterious death of the famous music producer Ou Ye has been concluded with the full effort of our police.”

The reporters around fell silent, only the sounds of cara shutters clicking filled the air.

“The conclusion is that this is a case of suicide!” Li Ming delivered the final judgnt on the case.

Liu Hun watched from the TV as Li Ming’s face appeared, smirking coldly.

The idea that soone as scared of death as Ou Ye would commit suicide was clearly an act to absolve Tianxing Group.

Moreover, the fact that the case was closed and yet his IOU was being taken away clearly intended to sar him through this opportunity.

“Inspector Li, since it’s a suicide, what was the cause that drove him to it?”

Li Ming smiled and said, “We don’t know the specific cause because the deceased left no suicide note.

The only thing found at the scene was an IOU.

According to the police psychologist’s analysis, Ou Ye likely died due to pressure from a creditor.

Of course, this is just a likelihood.” With that, Li Ming deliberately emphasized the words just a likelihood.

“Debt?!

We’ve interviewed Mr.

Hong before, and according to him, this is also the case.

However, as the creditor, Liu Hun denies it outright.

Could you clarify what’s going on?”

Now it was Hong Decai’s turn to step forward.

He puffed up his chest and sighed, adopting a sympathetic tone, “The death of Producer Ou saddens and Tianxing Group more than anyone else.

He was an outstanding musician and a man of great integrity.

How could he just give up on life so easily?

I speculate there can only be one reason: the overwhelming pressure of a massive debt!

I can imagine the lender using despicable ans ti and again to inflict inhumane psychological and physical harm on Producer Ou!

Ultimately forcing a young life to leave us!

We must firmly denounce such shaless acts!

Make them pay for their brutality!”

By the end of his speech, Hong Decai covered his eyes and began to feign sobbing.

“Mr.

Hong, are you insinuating Liu Hun?”

“Inspector Li, what is your opinion on what Mr.

Hong just said?”

“Mr.

Hong, are these statents just speculation, or can you produce corresponding evidence?”

“…”
