Chapter 768: Chapter 716: dical Skills
“Boss, I’ve been helping Brother Cheng Feng survey the terrain these past few days, where would I find the ti, and besides, this is the first ti I’ve t them,” Wang Xiaofei said seriously as he looked at Liu Hun, “And there’s no conflict between being a lecturer and a doctor, why do you have to choose?”
With these words from Wang Xiaofei, Liu Hun nearly coughed up blood. This kid was really adding fuel to the fire; seeing the gleam in both Han Xin’er and Liu Qingqing’s eyes, Liu Hun had a bad feeling rising from the pit of his stomach.
There was a teacher in Southeast University nad Qian Zhongshu. Wang Xiaofei had t him once before and guessed that his status within that mysterious force was extraordinary. However, why he worked as a teacher at Southeast University, Wang Xiaofei did not know.
Liu Hun wanted to thoroughly investigate this mysterious force and obviously couldn’t do so openly without exposing himself to the enemy. Thus, this was an opportunity.
It was for this reason that Wang Xiaofei sold out Liu Hun, urging him to take the lecturer position at Southeast University.
“Ladies, we’ve now arrived in Provincial City. Should I go to the hospital or the school first? You two discuss and decide.” Half a day later, after arriving in Provincial City with Liu Qingqing and Han Xin’er, Liu Hun looked at the two won and wryly said.
“Go to the school!”
“Go to the hospital!”
The won spoke in unison; watching the two won at loggerheads, Liu Hun rolled his eyes and didn’t bother intervening. After all, he was here now, so it didn’t matter which he visited first.
“Han Xin’er, don’t act all coy when you’ve got the advantage. If it weren’t for my saving his life back then, he would never have agreed to help you,” Liu Qingqing said, glaring at Han Xin’er.
“Tch, that sounds nice. I’ve also heard about that surgery. Any doctor could have done it under those circumstances. You were just lucky to be there at the right ti,” Han Xin’er retorted with a disdainful snort.
“But it’s undeniable that I saved his life,” Liu Qingqing said through clenched teeth.
“You… Tomorrow! He must report to the school by tomorrow at the latest,” Han Xin’er, knowing she was on shaky ground, did not argue with Liu Qingqing further.
Watching Han Xin’er drive off hastily, Liu Hun shrugged his shoulders and said to Liu Qingqing, “Doctor Liu, since you’ve reached a decision, let’s head off.”
As soon as Liu Hun arrived at the hospital, countless doctors were standing at the entrance, as though waiting for so important figure. Many of the patients and their families entering and exiting the hospital were curious; seeing all the doctors of the First People’s Hospital so eagerly awaiting soone, they wondered which high-ranking leader was due for an inspection.
“So you’re Liu Hun, the Divine Doctor, right? I’ve heard so much about you. I am the director of the hospital, welco to join our hospital as a doctor,” said Liu Qingqing and Liu Hun, barely stepping out of the car, as a group of doctors ca forward, with an elderly man over sixty looking at Liu Hun sowhat excitedly.
At that mont, Zhao Lingling, just having completed her discharge procedures at the hospital entrance, caught sight of this scene, pausing her steps slightly, her beautiful eyes filled with so shock.
“Lingling, what’s wrong? Is there sothing uncomfortable with your body? You really are, you’ve just hurt your ligant dancing and you don’t stay in the hospital for a couple more days, now you’re in such a rush to return to the university…” A young man beside Zhao Lingling noticed his girlfriend stopping and asked with concern.
However, after his words fell, he noticed that Zhao Lingling hadn’t responded, and he curiously followed her gaze. Seeing all the hospital’s doctors welcoming a young man, Wu Chang also felt puzzled.
“Isn’t that ngng’s boyfriend? Why has he suddenly co to the hospital, and why are all the doctors including the director personally welcoming him…” Zhao Lingling murmured, her eyes filled with curiosity and confusion.
“Sun ngng’s boyfriend?” Wu Chang was slightly startled, his eyes looking towards Liu Hun filled with a mix of gravity and surprise.
Wu Chang was a third-year dical student at Southeast University and also the most prized student of Qian Zhongshu, sothing that Liu Hun at this mont was obviously unaware of.
“Old man, the reason I agreed is because of Doctor Liu,” said Liu Hun, looking at the director with a serious tone.
Yet as soon as Liu Hun said this, all the doctors looked at Liu Qingqing beside him with surprise. Unfortunately, Liu Hun’s words were a bit too ambiguous; so of the doctors even thought whether Liu Qingqing seduced Liu Hun to get him to join the hospital…
Seeing the sowhat suggestive gazes of the crowd on her and Liu Hun, Liu Qingqing’s pretty face blushed slightly. As she noticed Liu Hun seed completely unaware, she had to keep this feeling of injustice to herself.
“Yes, yes, with Doctor Liu’s exquisite dical skills, joining our hospital is indeed a bit of a loss for you,” the director said with a nod and a smile.
“I want to make sothing clear,” Liu Hun went straight to the point. “From now on, don’t co looking for unless it’s a life-or-death case. Also, I’m extrely busy. I can’t possibly stay in the hospital all the ti. I’ll manage my own schedule. As for salary, just toss a few tens of thousands of yuan a month, and for lodging or whatever, you guys handle it yourself.”
Liu Qingqing had anticipated this scene and thus didn’t have much of an opinion. After all, Liu Hun was also part-ti as a lecturer. It was just that this guy Liu Hun was already so wealthy, yet he still wanted tens of thousands a month for his salary—he was practically a vampire, a stingy miser!
“Even the hospital president doesn’t make tens of thousands a month!” Liu Qingqing, looking sowhat annoyed, said to Liu Hun.
“What does that have to do with ? You begged to co, not the other way around.” Liu Hun winked at Liu Qingqing and spoke softly.
Stunned by his retort, Liu Qingqing was left speechless.
“You really think you own the hospital, huh? Co and go as you please, and on top of that, demanding tens of thousands a month in salary. What makes you think you’re entitled to that? Just because you got lucky one ti with one impossible surgery?” Before Liu Qingqing could speak, a middle-aged doctor with glasses stepped forward and scornfully interrogated Liu Hun.
Liu Hun glanced at the na badge on the man’s white lab coat and chuckled: “Wu Zhi? What were your parents thinking naming you that? I think ‘No Brains’ would suit you better.”
“You!” Wu Zhi’s face flushed with anger as Liu Hun publicly mocked his na. His na was a sore point; he detested when people associated his na with ignorance or brainlessness.
“Director, I strongly request that such scum be unfit for our hospital. This is an insult to our institution!” Wu Zhi stared fiercely at Liu Hun, then turned to speak to the hospital director nearby.
“Doctor Wu, are you questioning ?” Liu Qingqing’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, a chill in her tone.
Wu Zhi’s words were a slap in her face. Although she was sowhat irritated by Liu Hun, she had brought him to the hospital, and Wu Zhi’s remarks were sothing Liu Qingqing couldn’t tolerate.
“Vice Director Liu, to declare soone a dical genius based solely on one surgery is negligent on your part as a vice director, and I believe you understand this,” Wu Zhi pressed on, unafraid of Liu Qingqing’s displeasure.
“Old Chen’s cancer was also cured by him, and I have personally examined it,” the director interjected as he sensed the brewing argunt.
The room went silent at his words. They quickly realized who the director referred to as Old Chen—soone the director had a good relationship with, and it was well known that Old Chen had been to the hospital several tis recently; everyone was quite aware of the situation.
Now, to hear the director claim that Liu Hun had cured the cancer was both shocking and astonishing.
“This is impossible, Old Chen had cancer, and there’s no one under the heavens who can cure cancer!” Wu Zhi protested, his face showing so discomfort.
Although he verbally disagreed, in his heart, he knew all too well that if the director was saying this, it certainly wouldn’t be to deceive everyone at this mont.
“To be able to cure cancer with acupuncture and to extract a bullet two inches from the heart without the aid of any instrunts, in just three cuts—if any of you could accomplish either of these feats, then you’d also be entitled to such treatnt,” the director calmly continued to the crowd.
He wasn’t trying to glorify Liu Hun. As the director, he was acutely aware of the behavior of his dical staff. If Liu Hun were to quit his job due to any dissatisfaction in the hospital, it would be their loss.
“Old fellow, I have known Old Chen for years, and we’re all not strangers here. I can agree to all your other requests, but the salary you’re asking for is indeed a bit much. I can’t decide on that alone, so how about…” After admonishing the crowd, the director, disregarding their stunned faces, smiled at Liu Hun.
“Old guy, don’t play these tricks on . I’m really not in the mood because of Mister ‘No Brains’ here, so there’s no room for negotiation,” Liu Hun glared at the director, unapologetically blunt.
“In that case, I’ll just give you my personal salary and Little Liu’s together at the end of each month,” the director sighed and went on. “Even then, it’ll only amount to less than twenty thousand a month. Can you accept that?”
Liu Hun glanced at Liu Qingqing standing blankly beside him. Although she appeared strong, he could tell from her attire that her family might not be wealthy. If he really agreed, Liu Qingqing would probably be reduced to living on air.
“Old guy, you’re tough! Forget the salary, but you must arrange decent accommodations for !” Liu Hun said through gritted teeth, displeased with the director.
“Since you’re joining our hospital as a doctor, I, as the director, naturally won’t let you be shortchanged. If you complete that surgery later, I’ll give you an unexpected surprise, how about that?” The director revealed a sly smile looking at Liu Hun.
Liu Hun was prepared for this turn of events. He knew that being summoned to the hospital certainly wasn’t for idle play.
“Dammit, all a bunch of old foxes, just trying to get the better of !” Liu Hun cursed under his breath, but it was evident he had already agreed.
