Chapter 972: Chapter 586: Transformation

“This Sky Ladder may indeed make the body feel heavier, and each step forward becos increasingly difficult, but it doesn’t seem as terrifying as they claid. Am I experiencing an illusion?” At this mont, as Liu Hun reached the forty-fifth step, he couldn’t help stopping, sowhat hesitantly.

The difficulties Liu Hun ntioned were rely the fatigue in his legs from continuing forward, not true difficulties.

Liu Hun could indeed withstand physical fatigue, but he couldn’t quite comprehend what was so terrifying about this Sky Ladder.

“Could it be that the later parts are the real focus?” A thought suddenly flashed through Liu Hun’s mind, and he muttered to himself.

As Liu Hun stood there pondering this matter, everyone below couldn’t help but silently breathe a sigh of relief.

If Liu Hun continued to walk like this, it would be defying heaven itself.

Walking up to the forty-fifth step was already enough to shock everyone present.

Just as everyone thought that Liu Hun was done, the next mont, they suddenly saw Liu Hun lift his legs again and continue stepping forward.

At this mont, Liu Hun didn’t think too much; if the later parts were indeed the focus, then before that, Liu Hun didn’t want to waste too much ti.

After all, he only had three days for this trip, and from yesterday until now, one day had already passed.

He then moved forward as swiftly as an agile monkey, quickly taking more than twenty steps before his speed slightly slowed down.

Although the Sky Ladder didn’t have a significant impact on Liu Hun, even a normal person would feel their legs go numb after climbing a ladder for long periods.

So, at this mont, Liu Hun chose to rest for a while, regain so strength, and then continue forward.

“Dad… Dad… he… he…” At the foot of the peak, Xiao Wu’s face was filled with numbness as he spoke to Yun Zhong beside him.

“If you got sothing to say, just say it!” Yun Zhong was sowhat dissatisfied with his son’s stamring words and commanded.

“If I’m not mistaken, he… he seed to have walked over sixty steps just now.” After being reprimanded by his father, Xiao Wu gritted his teeth in shock.

“That’s right, he’s already at sixty-eight steps, forty steps away from the peak!” Yun Zhong replied in a deep voice.

With his father’s confirmation, Xiao Wu exclaid in shock, “How is this possible!”

“I can’t answer that question for you!” Yun Zhong replied impatiently.

He himself still wanted to know the answer, but Xiao Wu, not understanding, ca to ask him anyway, which was quite annoying.

“Unexpected, truly unexpected…” Beside them, Yun Bo’s eyes glead as he stared intently at Liu Hun halfway up the mountain, muttering in his heart.

After resting for a mont halfway up the mountain and feeling a slight recovery of strength within, Liu Hun was planning to continue forward when the originally absent power suddenly began to flow into his limbs little by little.

With his sowhat weary body, it suddenly disappeared in an instant, and the power within his body restored in no more than a mont.

The disappearance of physical fatigue filled Liu Hun’s entire being with energy.

“What’s going on here?” Liu Hun couldn’t help but feel a little stunned.

The sudden change in his body took him a while to react.

Thinking for a while, Liu Hun still couldn’t pinpoint the problem, but the recovery of strength within his body was a good thing for him, as the remaining Sky Ladder seed even easier.

Taking a deep breath without a hint of hesitation, he looked up at the remaining forty steps of the Sky Ladder ahead, and without hesitation, he slowly walked upwards.

In around ten minutes, Liu Hun successfully reached the mountain top, and upon seeing everything before him, he was instantly stunned.

At the peak, there was a flat open area, roughly thirty square ters in size, which wasn’t very large, but on such a small open space, aside from a small tree about two ters tall, there was a mummified corpse seated cross-legged at the base of the tree.

“What’s going on here? Why is there a mummified corpse here?” Liu Hun murmured as he slowly approached the corpse.

The body had no flesh or blood, only bare bones wrapped in a tattered piece of clothing, but from its style and material, Liu Hun could discern that the clothing was at least several hundred years old.

This ant the corpse had been dead for hundreds of years.

“If that’s truly the case, then the bones should have weathered away long ago. How can they be preserved so well?” Liu Hun frowned.

This skeleton was indeed unusual, and neither Yun Zhong, Yun Ba, nor Yun Bo had ever ntioned it, indicating that they didn’t know about the skeleton either.

In that case, who could be the owner of this skeleton?

After thinking for a mont, Liu Hun shook his head and sighed, “No matter who he was, what does it have to do with ? Now that I’ve successfully broken a rule of the Yun Family, my goal is accomplished.”

After speaking, Liu Hun turned to walk towards the Golden Tree beside him.

The so-called Golden Tree wasn’t made of gold; rather, it was nad so because the entire tree had a golden hue.

However, the fruits it bore held imnse benefits for a cultivator. Once a Golden Fruit was consud, it nearly equated to cutting one’s marrow, purging the body of all impurities, thus making one’s strength purer.

“Since I’ve encountered it, I’ll help myself to a taste.” Liu Hun laughed, plucking a Golden Fruit and imdiately eating it.

Given Liu Hun’s physique, no amount of Golden Fruits could affect him. Though he wished to gather more to take away, Yun Ba clearly would not approve.

But Liu Hun wasn’t anxious; observing the Yun Family’s deanor earlier, it was evident they couldn’t ascend the Heavenly Ladder. While Liu Hun was uncertain of the issues within his body, since he could climb it easily, the Golden Tree was essentially his private bounty, for only he could harvest from it.

As soon as he consud the Golden Fruit, Liu Hun felt it transform into a flow of energy coursing through his limbs and bones. Yet, as it spread, his complexion suddenly turned extrely pale.

Theoretically, eating a Golden Fruit should only bring benefits, with no adverse effects. But at this mont, all the energy in Liu Hun’s body beca violently unstable.

No matter how hard Liu Hun tried to control it, there was no effect; within monts, he collapsed to the ground, scarlet blood pouring from his seven orifices.

“Bang!”

Inside, a crisp sound rang out, causing Liu Hun’s body to twitch slightly. Following this sound, his face turned ashen, with his pupils filled not only with endless shock but also despair.

The sound was not just any sound; it was the snapping of his ridians. Moreover, once the first ridian broke, all others across his body rapidly began to snap.

In less than a minute, Liu Hun’s clothes were soaked with sweat, all ridians shattered, and he couldn’t control the overpowering energy.

If this continued, within re monts, his body might explode from within.

Just when Liu Hun neared despair, an unexpected jet-black glow burst from his pocket, which appeared exceptionally bright against the dim Peak scenery.

Everyone understood that black typically isn’t glaring, yet Liu Hun felt exactly that.

The intense black light forced Liu Hun to slightly close his eyes; even so, he peered through a slit, fixating on the pendant depicting the Hell Three-Headed Dog that flew from his pocket.

The pendant hovered over Liu Hun’s head, then another identical pendant flew from a skeletal remains nearby, rging with Liu Hun’s pendant.

Watching the pendant sculpted with the Hell Three-Headed Dog in suspension, Liu Hun forgot his physical agony, staring in disbelief at this scene.

Once the pendant from the skeletal remains fused with Liu Hun’s, a breeze swept through, and the bones turned to dust, dissipating into Nature.

“What… what’s happening?! Perhaps when my power suddenly recovered on the mountainside, it was due to this pendant or the pendants’ power within ?” Liu Hun speculated, disbelief engulfing his gaze.

If true, the previous power recovery served only as a warning. Regrettably, he hadn’t realized it then.

But regretting now was too late.

The pendant, emitting dense black light, continued hovering above Liu Hun’s head, with all ridians destroyed making him feel exhausted, ready to succumb to sleep.

Liu Hun knew clearly that if he closed his eyes now, he might never wake again, yet he couldn’t stop it.

“Zing!” A crisp sound suddenly arose, and next mont, the pendant engraved with the Hell Three-Headed Dog plunged into Liu Hun’s body.

Subsequently, Liu Hun felt the previously volatile energy within him suddenly calm down, as if confronted with sothing terrifying.

Before Liu Hun could react, abundant black energy surged throughout his body, fixing the broken ridians instantly.

From start to finish, rely five minutes passed, yet Liu Hun felt it stretched like a century—waiting for death’s arrival, powerless to change it, was overwhelmingly terrifying.

The curled-up body shifted slightly, before Liu Hun slowly stood, examining his body thoroughly, noticing with severity the change within his Dantian.

All his Dantian energy transford into black power, which integrated entirely into his flesh and bones.

This ant that Liu Hun can never expel this energy.

He flipped his palm, and the Mitsubishi Military Knife fell into it, absorbing streams of power gradually.

“Crack!” A sharp sound echoed; the knife broke upon the ground, leaving Liu Hun shocked while staring at the shattered blade.

The energy within him proved overwhelmingly dominant and terrifying; he had only poured a little into the knife, causing it to snap under the strain.

Liu Hun understood, though his Realm hadn’t changed, his power had grown exceptionally daunting, making a confrontation with Yun Nuan and Yun Cheng inevitable.

“What exactly is this pendant, that it can completely alter soone’s power…” Liu Hun felt half pleased, half worried; pleased with increased strength, worried over this power…
