With the principal’s arrangent, everyone beca more organized. They finally knew how to deal with the situation, so they were trying to solve one problem at a ti.
The principal tugged Professor Vienna’s arm, signaling her to co outside.
"What’s the situation? Do you have a way to solve it?"
Professor Vienna thought for a mont. Revealing Auric’s information might not be a problem to the principal, especially about this matter. At least, this wasn’t about him being a unique-elent evolution master. It was about him having multiple elents to solve the problem.
The principal could find this answer given enough ti.
So she answered, "Not . However, our student once solved this problem."
The principal was trying to think of the na of that student, but for so reason only one person ca to his mind. "You an, student Auric Elfe?"
Professor Vienna nodded.
"Of course, he is..." The principal sighed. "In any case, can I trouble you with handling the rest of the arrangent?"
"I might need to use anesthesia to hide his identity."
"I don’t need to know. You just handle it in a way you deem it’s safe for him. I don’t want to lose students."
"Understood, Principal," Professor Vienna agreed with a serious expression.
"Good. I will go then. I am needed more on the battlefield."
...
While the situation had cald down in the student camp, the battle on the wall had just intensified.
"Sir, we’ve arrived. Thank you for your help!" A middle-aged man nodded to the Lightning Emperor.
The Lightning Emperor glanced at the gate that was gradually being closed.
"All right then. I will go back to my post. Will the gate be guarded?"
"Yes, sir. My team will stand by here in case there are hidden terrorists."
Considering what the enemies had been doing, the Lightning Emperor could understand why they considered them terrorists.
"All right." The Lightning Emperor looked up and leaped onto the wall. There was actually one rank 5 beast on the battlefield. He thought this beast was supposed to be the enemy he had to take down, but it looked like there was soone else already fighting it.
...
A mont ago.
"Where are they? I can see the rank 5 beast from here. This overlord beast is about to help the beasts to breach the wall!"
"They’re on the way, sir. ETA: two minutes."
"The wall will be breached in one."
"We are sending another helper your way, sir."
"Another helper?"
Suddenly, a powerful energy surged from the housing area. The Lightning Emperor raised his head and saw a silhouette leaping from one roof to another.
"!!!" He recognized this person. "Director Popo from the X-Guard?"
Mr. Popo leaped to the top of the wall.
"Sorry that it took a bit more ti. I had to take care of a bit of paperwork before coming here, including sending off a few VIPs. I hate corporate work..." Mr. Popo replied to the control room.
"Don’t worry, Mr. Popo. You are not late. However, there is a rank 5 beast over there, so please give it a warm welco."
"Sure, no pressure." Mr. Popo took off his suit and loosened his tie.
His energy surged even more, as though he were challenging the overlord beast.
The beast reacted to Mr. Popo’s energy and let out a roar. It was also releasing a massive amount of energy.
It gathered all that energy in its mouth and let out a green beam.
"Tsk." Mr. Popo clicked his tongue. The wall might be able to withstand most attacks, but this was an attack from a rank 5 beast. There was no way it could withstand it unscathed.
Mr. Popo leaped toward the attack and raised his hand. He waved it toward the incoming beast as though he were tossing sothing.
The small light ball coming from his hand suddenly expanded into a spear. It was so massive that everyone could see it from afar.
Spear of Longinus.
The spear hit the beam and neutralized it. Then, Mr. Popo snapped his fingers to pull the spear and tossed it toward the beast.
The overlord beast roared and took the attack head-on. The beast was a lion with a pair of wings.
The spear looked like it entered its mouth before exploding, creating a massive pillar of light.
However, the lion’s wings flapped and dispersed this power, showing that it was able to withstand the attack unscathed.
"Well, this doesn’t look like an easy job, but my wife and kid are fighting here, so I guess I will have to go all out." Mr. Popo took a deep breath. He returned to the top of the wall, not planning to go out yet.
After all, there were still too many beasts. The mont he decided to fight against the rank 5 beast was the ti for other beasts to surround him. It would be annoying to handle them while fighting against this overlord beast.
However, the overlord beast seed to understand this as well, so it was trying to gather its power for another attack. It was adamant about pulling Mr. Popo away from the wall.
"All right. This is getting annoying." Mr. Popo frowned. "Hey, Commander. How many humans are as strong as in this city?"
"There should be seven people. You, Lightning Emperor, , Adjudicator Maya, Principal Fernandes, and two more bodyguards that Ellia Stroph Astler brought, but I’m not sure about the bodyguards. Adjudicator Maya is planning to take care of another matter, while Principal Fernandes is taking care of the second beast wave."
"So, that ans we can only count on you or the Lightning Emperor. I guess that’s fine. I will exhaust the overlord beast’s energy. Once it’s done, you or the Lightning Emperor should finish the job."
"Understood. Thank you for the help, Director Popo."
"No problem." Mr. Popo took down another attack from the overlord beast. He then summoned his avatar, which looked like a crow.
This crow suddenly flew into the sky as though it were alive and turned into a massive sun. "Scorched Earth."
The beasts could feel the intense heat from this avatar. Even the people fighting on the wall could feel it, even though there was so distance between them. Many attacks were trying to take down this sun imitation, but they ended up burning before the attacks could reach it.
Then, Mr. Popo focused the sunlight toward the lion.
The lion covered its body with its wings, but the sunlight started burning the wings.
It was forced to step to the side to avoid it before a massive translucent claw appeared out of nowhere. It was trying to grab the sun and crush it.
The sun exploded, producing a blinding light that made the beasts roar in pain because they had a hard ti opening their eyes.
Mr. Popo then flew toward the beast and raised his spear.
The overlord beast noticed him and imdiately struck the spear with its claws.
In the anti, the Lightning Emperor had been protecting the gate and had just finished his job.
He imdiately went back to his original position as soon as they fixed the problem, only to find Mr. Popo already taking his job.
"Sir, Director Popo is going to exhaust the beast. You need to swiftly eliminate the beast whenever you see an opportunity."
The Lightning Emperor narrowed his eyes. It looked like he had no choice but to do it this way.
He was trying to recover as much energy as possible, waiting for Mr. Popo to finish his job.
However, the situation changed when he found sothing that was even more shocking than a rank 5 beast.
"That’s..." The Lightning Emperor widened his eyes and hurriedly leaped. "Watch out!"
Mr. Popo was startled and noticed sothing was coming from the right because of him. He hurriedly produced a shield made of sunlight to block it, but it shattered in one second.
Fortunately, that one second was more than enough for the Lightning Emperor to cover the distance and use his own power to strike down the incoming attack.
"Oi, oi. Are you serious?" Mr. Popo sucked in a cold breath.
What was more shocking than a rank 5 beast? Two rank 5 beasts.
Yes, another rank 5 beast had just made its entrance. It was a spider with a water elent.
Mr. Popo and the Lightning Emperor couldn’t help but feel terrified. They might not be scared of two rank 5 beasts. After all, they could handle one on their own.
The problem was what it actually ant to have two rank 5 beasts in this attack.
"Commander... I think we have a very big problem. We’ve just confird another rank 5 beast, a spider with a water elent."
"What?" The commander dropped his jaw.
The mayor frowned. "Another rank 5 beast? This doesn’t look good. Will those two be okay? Should we ask Ellia to send her bodyguards to help? This is a matter of whether the city will remain standing or not. So, we have to spare no effort in protecting it."
"No, Mayor. The problem with two rank 5 beasts is not the beasts themselves. All this ti, we have agreed on one thing. This beast wave is commanded by an overlord beast. There is no jungle that can have two kings. That ans..."
The mayor suddenly felt a chill down his spine. "What? You’re saying that the overlord beast is..."
"Yes... It might be stronger than anything we’ve seen so far. A rank 6 beast."
The mayor’s face lost all its color. "This... There is no one strong enough to fight a rank 6 beast. How are we ant to stop it? We need to call for backup. No, is there even soone strong enough who can reach this city in ti?"
The commander gulped down. He knew it sounded hopeless, but he rembered what Maya had said earlier.
"There is actually one person."
"There is?" The mayor raised his head. "Who?"
"Adjudicator Maya has ntioned sothing about the chief adjudicator. Adjudicators are divided into three ranks: Junior, Senior, and Chief. Once you finish the special training to beco an adjudicator, you imdiately beco a junior adjudicator.
"When you finish missions and complete tasks, you can rank up and beco a senior adjudicator. However, not everyone can beco chief adjudicator.
"The adjudicators are the officers who are trying to maintain the balance of this country. That’s why they need enough strength to beco one.
"If you want to beco a chief adjudicator, the minimum strength you need to beco one is..."
"Rank 6?" The mayor gasped. He knew about adjudicators, but the information about them wasn’t exactly common, so he didn’t know about the details. "How do you know this, Commander?"
"I was once a junior adjudicator, but I ended up quitting because of my lack of ability. I couldn’t even beco a senior adjudicator after ten years." The commander shook his head. "Nevertheless, if Adjudicator Maya said he will co, we have no choice but to pin our hopes on him."
The commander waved his hand and ordered loudly, "Director Popo, Lightning Emperor. You need to stall for ti. Make the overlord beast appear slower by showing that you’re struggling against those rank 5 beasts. Make it think that you are prey that can be taken down easily. There will be reinforcents coming soon..."
"How long?" The Lightning Emperor asked.
"In..." The commander checked the ti again. "...25 minutes. Hopefully."
The Lightning Emperor and Mr. Popo glanced at each other. They reached a tacit understanding. "Roger that."
While they might have so hope in 25 minutes, Auric’s group might not even be alive in another 25 minutes.
"This..." Ellia furrowed her eyebrows, noticing the influx of magical beasts heading toward them.
Their team started to struggle against so many beasts.
She glanced to the left and right, noticing what was missing. "Not good. We have been isolated."
Auric narrowed his eyes and checked the surroundings, following the energy particles that only he could see. "Even worse. We have been surrounded."
